Ken, are you up?" Ken placed the pillow over his head and moaned. It was too early to wake up and see Lita's perky face grinning at him. "It's about 9 o' clock!" He immediately got up and stared at his clock. Sure enough, Lita was right. Argh, Mark and the others are going to kill him if he didn't make it to the movies within an hour. Jumping off the bed, he quickly ran into the bathroom and closed the door. He had a feeling that today would be a terrible day. Lita poured the "Frosted Flakes" in a bowl, and grinned at Mrs. Kendra, who was reading the newspaper. "So Ken's going to the movies today?" "Yes, with his friends. They're going to watch this supposedly horror/action movie called "Last One Left". Maybe you can go with them? Or do you want to go hang around with Ami all day?" Mrs. Kendra asked, turning a page of the newspaper. "Nah, I'll go with Ami. Get to know a couple people and maybe hang out in the arcade," Lita replied. She poured the milk in the white bowl, and slowly grinned to herself. Maybe she could invite Serena, Mina, and Raye with them. "Oh man, I'm late. Mom, you should've woke me up earlier. Mark's going to have my head," Ken groaned as he made his way down the stairs. "Me remind you? I thought you said you didn't need anymore reminding," Mrs. Kendra said. "Well, you should've known I was probably kidding," Ken muttered, passing by his mother and Lita. "Besides, you know I can't wake up on time if my life depended on it." Lita smirked. "You can't? I guess this is even more gossip for when we go back to school." He ignored Lita and quickly stuff some waffles in the toaster. Crossing his arms, he waited impatiently for the waffles to come back up. "You know, they don't pop up until three minutes," Lita informed him as she started eating her cereal. "You can't just stick them in there for one second and then they'd pop up." "Well, I know that they don't pop up right away." Ken turned to her. "Just making sure you knew that." "So, Lita, are you going to Ami's house or with Ken's group?" Mrs. Kendra asked, trying to make some conversation. Ken's dark blue eyes narrowed. "She's not going with me. She just won't fit in." "Like I'd want to go with you. Besides, Ami's more interesting than you," Lita snapped, emerald eyes gleaming dangerously. He stared at her for a full minute, before the waffles popped. While his attention was turned back to the waffles, Lita glared at him and stuck her tongue out at his back. 'What an idiot. I can't believe I'm stuck living with him' she thought. 'Maybe I can ask Mrs. Kendra if I could sleep over at Ami's house tomorrow. I'm sure Ami won't mind.' Ken grabbed the waffles and walked out of the kitchen, to the main door, and slammed it shut. "Well...that was interesting," said Mrs. Kendra slowly. "Ken! Why are you late? It's about the tenth time!" Mark exclaimed as soon as he saw Ken. "Chill...he's only been late this once," Tim corrected. "Besides, I remember a certain someone always arriving late, this time included." "At least he's here," Adam said, stuffing his hands in his blue jean. "That's better than him forgetting about us." "Hey!" Ken waved. "You're late," Mark said. "Well, sorry. Sheesh. You guys won't believe what I just found out last night," Ken declared, and his hair rustled in the wind. "What? Did you find out you were dead, and resurrected as Ken Kendra, star of just about every sport?" Steve asked, grinning. "No." Ken shook his head. "I just found out that my mom adopted a sister. I'm pretty sure you all know her." "Is she cute?" asked Mark. "You might think so. She's the girl whose locker is next to mine. That Lita-girl," Ken said, frowning. "What?" Tim asked. "Talk about a strange twist of fate," Adam said. Mark had a strange look in his eyes. "Well, at least she seems to have a better attitude than Lonnie. Maybe she'd go out with me?" The other guys laughed and Ken said, "Go ask her and find out. I wouldn't care less. Now...to the movie?" "To the movie!" Tim, Mark, and Adam cheered in unison. Lita grinned as Ami and her walked into the busy arcade, and she instantly spotted Serena and Mina, around a racing game. Three people were behind them. One was Raye, and the other two were unknown to her. Serena yelled as her car exploded. "No! Mina, you cheated, didn't you?" She looked at her friend. The other blonde shook her head. "Nope, it's just skill." "Well...it's okay, Serena. I'll go bye you a drink, if you want," offered a guy. "Okay, thank you, Darien!" Serena exclaimed, and grabbed the dark haired guy to the counter. The sandy-blonde haired guy followed them. "So, what would it be?" The sandy-blonde haired guy asked. "You know, Andrew, the usual," Darien answered, and grinned at Serena. "I think you should make one extra large." Serena's blue eyes sparkled. "All right!" Ami looked around, her dark blue eyes curiously scanning the room. "So, why did you bring me here?" "To meet all the people. There's more to the world than your room, Ami," Lita replied. She grabbed Ami's hand and led her to Serena's group. Mina grinned as recognition flashed across her face. "Hi, Lita!" "Hi everyone," Lita greeted. "This is Ami Anderson." Ami smiled shyly and waved her hand. "We know who she is," Raye said, smiling. "But do you know who the guys are?" Lita shook her head. "The blonde is Andrew and the other one is Darien. He's Serena's boyfriend," Mina whispered. "I could tell." Lita laughed. "You brought some new blood over here?" Andrew suddenly called out. "About time!" He grinned and put out a hand. "Who are you two lovely young ladies?" Lita shook his hand, and replied, "I'm Lita, and she's Ami." "I'm sure you two would like it around here, if you are just like Serena and the rest," he said. "I think we'd like it around here," Lita said and Ami nodded in agreement. "Where's my drink?" Serena asked. "Coming right up," Andrew replied, and went to get her drink. Serena grinned. "So, Lita, you want to try the racing game with me?" "Sure!" Lita hopped on the game, and Mina handed her a token to insert in. This was going to be a really fun day. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Argh, that's all I could think of...
