Author's Notes: 7/17/00 Wow! I've actually been getting compliments! Thank you to all who e~mailed me about my fanfics!! You guys are the greatest! Disclaimer: Uh...I'm not sure about this...do I, or do I not? The latter, eh? I do _not_ own Sailormoon! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- "So, how was school?" Mrs. Kendra asked as soon as Lita walked in. "Did you meet some friends? Was it fun?" Fun? That was the last adjective Lita would use to describe her day. The last class was spit-the-spitball-at-the-new-freaky-girl- while-the-teacher-wasn't-looking period. She had to go right to restroom--which took about half an hour to find--and remove the bits of paper wads in her hair. 6th period, unfortunately, was filled with those popular, yet annoying people. The whole group from her homeroom other people and a couple of jerks in the back of the class. The only person missing was Ken, and that would officially be the worst class in all of high school. "It was...not fun, definitely not fun. Below okay..." Lita answered Mrs. Kendra. Mrs. Kendra looked at her, her dark blue eyes staring out thoughtfully. "So, it was...below okay?" "Kind of," Lita replied. "I'm...going to go to my room. You know, do homework, try to memorize my classes and stuff." "Okay." She grabbed an apple, tossed it up, and quickly walked up the spiral staircase. She passed Ken's room, and entered her own room. As soon as she entered, she tossed her backpack on the ground, next to her new bed--which had arrived yesterday--and promptly fell onto the soft bed. She faced the ceiling, and then stared out at the window, eating the apple. Glancing at the few clouds in the beautiful light blue sky, she wondered what Ami and the other people were doing. Maybe at the arcade she had passed when they were looking for furniture? An ice cream store? Home? Finishing off the apple, she continued to watch the clouds for a couple more minutes, before finally turning her attention to her schoolwork. Well, actually, she really didn't receive any homework...all she had to do was get to know the school and people. The teachers, she thought, were too lenient. Especially, Mrs. Lena. Why, all Mrs. Lena did was read out of her romance novels, barely teaching the class anything. That old bat. Lita took out her map of the school she obtained from Ami, and was surprised at how big the school was. She had barely seen a fourth of the school yet! Well, that was okay, because most of the other part of the school was separated into categories--freshmen, sophomore, junior, and senior. Maybe I should just ask Ami to help me, Lita thought, looking over at the other light blue house. I wonder if her window is the one right there... Or maybe, I should just start packing in; get all my stuff in order? Kicking her feet to the side of the bed, Lita stood up, and hit her foot on a suitcase of hers. "OWWW!" she shouted, hoping on one foot for two seconds, and fell back onto the bed, holding her foot two inches away from her face. The toes were a little red, and it hurted a little, but that was all. She glared angrily at her suitcase for a second, before realizing that it was a thing and it couldn't talk. Deciding to take that as a sign of some sort, she leaned over and picked up a suitcase, opened it, and shuffled through it. The shoes belong there...the clothes in that drawer and the other one, pencils, pens, paper on the desk, pictures, of course, next to the bed, she thought, carefully placing her belongings in a specific place. She picked up the picture of her mother and father and stared at it. About anyone would see where she got her looks. The piercing emerald eyes came from her father, and so did her height. The soft brown hair, came from her mother, and her face seem to be almost an exact duplicate of her mother's, with the exception of eye color. Her mother's was a light ice-blue color. She blinked, and a tear rolled down her cheek. Why did they have to die when she was such at a young age of five? She didn't really have some memories of them, yet she remembered their features a little, and her parents' laughter when she had asked why were humans called human beings, when they didn't grow from beans. Lita's hand moved quickly to wipe away the crystal tear, and she blinked again, not allowing the other tears to follow their leader. She placed the beloved picture in front of all those pictures, and finished putting things in order. I wonder if Ami's home right now... Ken grinned as his friend, Mark Thompson, trying to flirt desperately with Lonnie Taylor. She was a pretty cheerleader with long black hair and dark brown eyes. The man couldn't flirt for his own car. "Oh, please? Would you just go out with me at all? I'll let you ride in my car? Please?" Mark said, practically on his knees. Ken smirked to himself. It was always amusing to watch Mark flirt. "Do you think she's going to go out with him? 10 bucks she says no," Tim Jackson betted. "You're on!" Steve Williams whispered. "I think he might actually get her." Ken shook his head. Those two were the type of guys that would bet on horse races, and would loose terribly. "No! You are a sick dog," Lonnie exclaimed, and walked back to her group of giggling cheerleaders. "Pay up!" Tim said, handing out his hand. "I won." Steve scowled. "I should've known." "Known what?" Lisa Anderson asked, walking up to Steve, and kissed his cheek. She smiled at everyone, teal eyes twinkling. "So, how's everyone?" "Just okay," Steve answered before anyone had a chance to respond to her question. He wrapped an arm around Lisa's waist, and handed the money to Tim. "You know what? We have a new student...she didn't exactly give me a great first impression," Tanya Marlins said, walking to the group with her friends. "Yeah, she seemed kind of rude," Nikki Andrews added, placing more mascara on. She's always putting make up on...trying to bring out her blue eyes, Ken thought. It isn't working... Tanya wrapped her arm around a surprised Ken and he blinked. Not that he wasn't use to Tanya always wrapping an arm around him; he just couldn't stick the fact that he wasn't interested in her in ANY way down her throat. Mark grinned at the two. "I see you are going out." "Yes, we are," Tanya said, as soon as Ken said, "No, we aren't." Everyone in the group looked at them, with the exception of Adam. "So, which one is it?" Tim asked. "It can't be both." "Maybe it is, maybe it's not, it's none of your business, Tim," Diane Roberts said, laughing, and hugged the tall African-American guy. "Well, so what?" Tim asked after the hug. "Well..." Ken removed Tanya's arm, and asked, "Don't you have cheerleading practice?" "Oh yeah! I totally forgot! Come on girls, we gotta go!" Tanya exclaimed, and quickly kissed Ken's cheek before leaving with the other girls. Ken looked disgusted, and turned toward the silent member of the group, Adam Chung, who was seemingly thinking about something very deep, although Ken knew that look. It was the look of his whenever he had to ask a question, or say something important. "Ken...you really don't like her, do you?" Adam asked, and continued without an answer, "Well, why don't you just tell her that? Try not to be too harsh." "You know, Adam, you sound like you're going to write an 'Advice from Guys' column in some magazine, " Steve said, looking at Adam. Adam smiled and shrugged. "Maybe I will...who knows?" he said in the cool and mysterious voice of his. Mark glanced at Ken. "Well, Ken, why don't you tell Tim and Steve about that girl, I think she was the one that Tanya was talking about. You know, at nutrition?" Ken grinned. "The beautiful girl with the locker?" "Yeah." "Well, she was beautiful, but as you guys all know, beauty doesn't mean anything, right?" He pointed at Nikki Andrews, one of most beautiful girls around, but it was thanks to all those layers of make up. Though, the new girl seemed different, somehow, but he couldn't make out how. Shrugging to himself, he continued. "Well..." "So, do you understand where it is now?" Ami asked Lita. "Uh..." Ami sighed. "Well, hopefully you'd get it by next year." Lita groaned and placed her map away. Now, time for the real reason of this visit. "So...Ami, why did you say Ken Kendra was nice? That certainly wasn't the impression I got," Lita said. "Well...he is. You...you just got to know him better," Ami replied. "He's a nice guy, once you get to really know him. I knew him since kindergarten, so, that's how I know. Maybe you just met him at the wrong time? When he was in a bad mood?" Lita shrugged. "Okay...are you saying that I should give the guy another chance?" "Oh, yes. Certainly!" Ami exclaimed. "It may take him a while to be nice to you and treat you like a normal person." Lita stared at the blue haired girl. "All right. I trust your judgement. I'll give him another chance, and that's it." "Good." And if he messes up that chance, oh well. If he's mean and rotten to me, I can always remember, he isn't that far away, Lita thought, grinning to herself. Lita walked back into her house, and she couldn't help but overhear a telephone conversation. A very interesting telephone conversation. "So, Ken, you're coming when?" Pause. "Oh, Friday? That's great. How come you're coming back so soon?" Pause. Laughter. "I see! Well, okay. And you know what?" Pause. Mrs. Kendra spotted Lita shaking her head, and she got the message loud and clear. "Well, you'd find out. All right. Bye." Setting down the phone, Mrs. Kendra turned to her. "Why, Lita? Why didn't you want me to tell him that you were here?" "Well, I was thinking, well...that it would be a surprise," Lita answered. Mrs. Kendra thought over it for a second, and a wide grin spread across her face. "Not a bad idea. I wonder what his reaction would be like." Lita smiled and nodded, imaging Ken's reaction. The scene played over and over again in her mind. ~Scene~ Ken walked into the house, and Lita grinned as passed by him. He turns around a 90-degree angle, and stares at her. "What the...?! What the hell are you doing here!?" ~End Scene~ She smirked. That was all she could imagine right now. Maybe she should borrow a video camera? "Lita, are you there?" Mrs. Kendra asked, waving her hand in front of the girl's face. Lita blinked, and realized that Mrs. Kendra was waving her hand for quite a while, even though the scene she played in her head wasn't that long. "Oh, sorry. Guess I was daydreaming. Well, I'll see you tomorrow morning." Lita smiled and raced up the stairs, turning towards her room, but suddenly stopped at Ken's room. Her fingertips touched the doorknob, and she suddenly pulled back, as if it was burning hot. No! She wasn't going in his room again! Once was already enough! Lita turned, and walked down to her room. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Okay, you like? You hate? You bored? You think it's too boring? Too short?
