Author's Notes: 7/8/00 Well here I am! MWA MWA MWA! And here I go! Disclaimer: Usual disclaimers apply ----------------*----------------------*-------------------*--------- Days later, Lita glanced at Seasons High School and inside the tall building. Well, now she knew how it got the name. They had different areas named with different things, though Lita had no idea why they did that. Everywhere looked the same. Shrugging, she entered inside with her new school supplies. Actually, all she brought were pens, pencils, and papers stuffed in a dark green backpack. Walking in, she could actually feel the students looking at her, like she was some kind of alien or something. Oh well, she was already used to it. People staring at her were no problem to her now. Lita glanced at her schedule that one of the office administers had given her. Just six classes; nothing too big. There were the usual: P.E., Math, History, Science/Health, and English, and extra class. An art class. Great, art. Just what she needed. Like that would ever help her later on. Wondering where in the school was Mr. Robinson's class was, she began walking down the cemented walkway, searching for her new homeroom teacher. Where was room 33? Thinking back, she noticed that there were numbers next to the signs which told you which seasons were what. Could those be the room numbers? If so, there were surely a lot of rooms in this school. Around 80 classrooms. Who knows? Bigger question; who cared? Turning the corner, Lita decided to ask the first student she saw where was room 33. She didn't want to be late on her first day, but didn't want to be too early either. She looked at the clock on the wall. 7:20. Oh, gee, 10 more minutes until school starts. Why did they have to start so early? As soon as Lita thought everyone went inside their homerooms already, she spotted a familiar head. "Ami?" Lita asked, hoping it would be her. Besides, who else had short blue hair? Ami turned around and spotted Lita. Oh, I hope I didn't make myself sound like a total nerd last week, she thought. "Hi." "Ami, I'm wondering...do you know where room 33 is?" Lita asked. "It's my homeroom, except I can't find it anywhere...would you happen to know?" She smiled. "It's your homeroom? What a coincidence! It's mine too!" Ami looked her expensive-looking watch. "Well, we better hurry up before we're late." Lita nodded. "Yeah, that's what I thought too." Walking side by side, the two quietly made their way through the noisy hall of students that had no fear of the tardy bell. Reaching the Spring district of the school, Ami stopped in front of a door that had a plain, white sign on it. It simply read: Mr. Robinson The two walked in and Ami said, "Just sign your name on this list, and sit down anywhere. Mr. Robinson doesn't take attendance--he think it's just a waste of time. So, you just write down last and first name on the list with that pen," she directed, handing Lita a blue pen. "And that's all." "Hey, genius-chick! You got a friend?" a boy shouted loudly, laughing along with his friends. "Who's he?" asked Lita, immediately wanting to give the boy a good fighting lesson. She hated those jerks that always sat around with a bunch of friends and teased everyone. "Just Tom Wilson, ignore him," said Ami. "Nobody pays attention to him often." She sat down and pulled a book out of her backpack. "You might as well take something out, although we're only going to stay here ten minutes." Right after Ami finished saying that, the bell rung, and the scrambling of tennis shoes were heard. Lita sat down in the seat next to Ami, and looked around her homeroom. Mr. Robinson was busy writing something on a piece of paper, some guys in the back were throwing spitballs, another guy was making paper airplanes, a group of girls were hung around in a circle, checking their way too heavy make up, one girl was applying fake nails, and other stuff like that. This was your typical high school homeroom. Nobody actually pays attention to anyone except their friends and themselves. Lita sighed and glanced at the clock. Argh. Nine more minutes of this stuff. Well, at least it was only ten minutes, she was happy about that. She watched as the clock went tick every minute, and continued to do so for just five ticks. Who ever thought ten minutes would be so long? Suddenly, a girl with blond hair and green eyes walked away from the group and up to Lita. "Do you have a mirror?" she asked impatiently. "Oh, and do you have any lipstick that I can use? I forgot mine today." She held out her hand expectedly. "No..." Lita started, before the blonde interrupted her. "Okay, you were right, Nikki! She doesn't have any," she yelled across the room. "What a looser..." She then walked away. Lita growled and rose up to follow the girl, but Ami's hand stopped her. Surprisingly, the girl had a strong grip. "Lita, don't go. I'm sure you don't want to talk or do anything to Tanya Marlins. She's one of the populars around here, and believe me, if you even said one word that might insult her, she would get you back a hundredfold. You'd be surprised..." Lita considered Ami's word for a while. Well, she didn't want anyone to hate her on the first day... That was true. Sitting back down, Lita sighed. "Ami, do you know what classes does Ken Kendra have?" "Not a chance," replied Ami, placing her book away. "None?" "Natta." Lita groaned. How was she ever going to meet this Ken person? "Then, do you know where he hangs out at lunch and nutrition?" she asked hopefully. "Well, he usually hangs out on the football fields, but sometimes he walks around. Maybe you can spot him by his locker," Ami said. "Locker?" Lita repeated, eyes gleaming. "And where exactly is his locker? Fall? Spring? Summer? Winter?" "Um...I think it was in Spring...number RL975. I'm not sure..." Ami answered. She looked up at the clock. "Only one more minute." Lita nodded thoughtfully. "Hey, Ami, where do I get a locker? Will they just give me one or something?" Cause if they do...I want locker RL974, Lita thought slyly. "Hmm... Why don't you go to the office and ask? I'm sure they would know." Ami swung her light blue backpack over her shoulders and Lita did the same with hers. "Okay, thanks!" The bell rung, and Lita looked at her next class. English, argh. The first thing they had to start with. Ms. Adams, room 47. I should've asked Ami where that was, Lita thought, grumbling through the mess load of students. Lita looked up at a dull-colored sign that read: ROOMS 40-55 ---> Well, she didn't need Ami's help after all. Smiling, Lita walked in the classroom, which was surprisingly, silent. That's funny...you aren't supposed to walk into silent classrooms unless it's the first day of school, Lita thought. She walked in just as the bell rang, and handed the dark-haired teacher who stood in front of the door a note explaining who she was and that sort of stuff. "Okay...Lita, you can sit next to...Amber. Amber, raise your hand," Ms. Adams said, not bothering to look at her students. She had a soft, cool voice that demanded attention and her gray-blue eyes looked at Lita for a second, before turning back towards the door. Lita turned around and saw a girl with dark red shoulder long hair and light brown eyes raising her hand. Assuming that was Amber, she sat down on one of the empty seats next to her. Amber smiled warmly at Lita before turning her attention back on the door. What's with everyone and the door? Lita wondered. She was also surprised that Amber smiled at her. Suddenly, a loud female screeching was heard followed by, "I'm soooo late!!!" The voice became louder and louder. A blonde appeared breathless in front of the door, gasping for breath. "I'm so sorry, Ms. Adams! My alarm clock got busted," she held up an alarm clock as proof, "and so, I woke up later, and I did everything late, and--" Ms. Adams smiled as the other students chuckled in their wooden seats. Lita watched with amusement. "It's okay," interrupted Ms. Adams. "I understand how you feel...my, your alarm clock..." The girl nodded and took the seat next to Lita. That was one Lita noticed the strange hairstyle the girl wore. She had extremely long hair, and put them up in to balls, sort of. How original, Lita thought, staring the girl. "Now that we had our daily show, we can get on with the class," Ms. Adams said. "Now...our vocabulary words are..." The girl suddenly turned to Ms. Adams and exclaimed, "But Ms. Adams! You got to introduce us to this new girl over here!" Ms. Adams turned around, her pony-tailed her flying back. "Serena, thank you for another lesson in learning the precise way of English. It is, you *have* to introduce us to this new girl over here, not you *got* to. That's going to be our lesson tomorrow. And thank you for pointing out about the new girl." Serena beamed. She smiled at Lita and looked at her curiously. "Everyone, this is Lita Kendra," Ms. Adams announced. Immediately, people started whispering. "Is she the brother of Ken Kendra?" "Are they related?" "Her last name is *Kendra*?" "Did she say Kendra?" "She sure doesn't look like Ken." "Maybe she's a cousin?" Ms. Adams began again. "Well, Lita's new to the school, and I would want you to make her feel welcomed here. Who'd want to help her out with her classes, even though this isn't her homeroom? We have to try to make her welcomed here." Serena immediately raised up her hand. "I do! I do!" "Okay, Serena, you two compare schedules, and see if they match," Ms. Adams said. "Now, we all have to introduce ourselves to Lita." She turned to Lita. "I'm Ms. Adams, your new English teacher for this semester." Amber spoke up, "I'm Amber Storm." "Serena Moonstar. I'll meet you around the tree next to the P.E. field, okay?" The rest of the period, Lita listened as everyone introduced themselves... Lita looked around her second period, History, and wondered if Ken was in this same class. As she walked in, she handed the note to Mrs. Linda, and waited for her to give instructions. "Sit down next to Ken," she said, pointing to a guy with brown hair. Lita's heart thumped. Was this Ken Kendra? She sat down next to Ken, and he immediately turned around. Nope, she thought. It couldn't be him! Ken had brown eyes, big glasses, and braces that seemed to stick out of his mouth. Eww... That, ladies and gentlemen, was your average dweeb and dork. "Hi... I am Ken Williams," he said, his speech slurred by his braces. As he talked, his glasses started to fall off, and he pushed them back on his nose. "Who are you?" Lita managed a small smile, and replied, "Lita Kendra." "You're related to Ken Kendra?" exclaimed Ken. "Oh, wowie!!" He rubbed his hands together and stood up. That was when Lita noticed his clothes. He was wearing a white polo shirt that was tucked in blue jeans, which kept seemingly, sliding off him. She turned around, and ignored the dork. Well, she knew she wasn't going to like this class very much. Ahh...nutrition. To get away from it all for just twenty minutes. She sighed. Well, at least she could go get a locker. Now, where did Ami say she could get a locker? Oh yeah, the office. Fortunately, the office wasn't far away, and she didn't have to walk that far. She stepped inside, and quickly went to the kind looking woman behind the counter. "Yes?" she asked. "Umm...I'm new here, and I need a locker...." Lita said nervously. The woman nodded. "What is your name and homeroom?" "My name is Lita Kendra and homeroom is room," she looked at her schedule, "room 33." The woman gave Lita a piece of paper with the locker number and combo on it. Locker RL976! Yes! Her luck couldn't get any better! Smiling, she went in search of her locker. Five minutes before the bell rang, she finally found her locker. Pushing her way through, she noticed that there was a group standing right in front of her locker. "Umm...excuse me," Lita said. No one budged. "Excuse me," she spoke louder. Again, no one budged. Clearing her throat, she tried again. "Excuse me." Nothing. Loosing her temper, she yelled, "EXCUSE ME!" The people turned around. "Well, you don't have to yell," muttered a girl. "How rude!" exclaimed a redheaded girl wearing a skimpy blue dress. "Extremely!" added the brunette. "What do you want?" asked a guy. "To go to my locker, why? Now, will you *please* move out of my way?" Lita asked, annoyed. "Well, I'm at my locker right now, and these are my friends you are yelling at," spoke up another guy, not that much taller than Lita. "Sorry," Lita muttered sarcastically. "I just have to go to my locker and meet a friend BEFORE nutrition is over!" "Looks like your date has just been canceled," he said, smirking. He pointed at the clock and the bell rung. "Good going, Ken!" a voice behind Lita exclaimed. She froze. Ken Kendra? Was this him? She looked up, and instantly saw the resemblance. Brown hair and dark, mysterious blue eyes. Yep, right there. She couldn't mistake it. Looked just like a male version of Mrs. Kendra, and was drop dead gorgeous. Get a grip girl, this guy just dissed you, she thought. Ken grinned. "Well, don't you have to go back to class?" He walked away with his friends, laughing. Uh huh...and Ami said it was the influence of high school and friends. Yeah right. And she missed nutrition around this stupid school, trying to find her locker! AND, she blew off Serena. Just perfect. What a way to begin... ----------------*----------------------*-------------------*--------- Wow, I really made them really out of character, didn't I?
