Sailor Emerald: Since everybody has their own muse I had to get one too. You don’t know how hard I looked for one! The good one’s are all taken. After all that searching I finally found one…or twelve. They’re mostly second rate but they were a dime a dozen and I’m broke. Meet the muse that inspired this chapter. Say hi Roose.

SE: *looks towards audience and whispers* You have to excuse Roose. He may be very kawaii but the reason I got him so cheap was because he was defective (stamina and all that)

Roose: Defective! *looks a little mad*

SE: you heard that? *Scratches base of neck and grins*

Roose: you’re a real Baka, Emerald-chan

SE: *pouts* You were so cute on the t.v. Roose-kun what happened?

Roose: You

SE: If you behave I’ll bake you a cake. Mako-chan taught me.

Roose: I don’t eat those kinds of foods anymore

SE: Yeah Wrecka put you on a diet. Look who has who in check now

Roose: Disclaimer remember? *changes subject*

SE- I don’t like doing the disclaimer but it would be unfair to make you do it…how about a race…

Roose: *looks suspicious* what kind of race?

SE: A race around the track

Roose: There’s no track here

SE: *Snaps fingers and track appears* There is one now. Lets hurry up the readers are getting sick of us arguing.

The Crystal Tokyo that Usagi had envisioned after being crowned Neo Queen Serenity was the kind of thing that dreams were made of and deemed by many conservatives as…unconservative. But they soon ate their own words. Three decades later, Crystal Tokyo had evolved in to a dream world. It did take years of hard work, ingenuity, and late nights researching while consuming several pounds of Ramen noodles though. Mizuno, Ami, NeoQueen of Mercury had started the use of magic powered appliances that cut down the need for hard labor, magic being in abundance with the presence of the Royal Families.

Of course the other Neo Queens contributed as well. Kino Makoto had created many new species of flowers with amazing healing properties. Aino Minako had created a love potion that…opened up the ‘victims’ eyes to some of the better qualities of the person but didn’t force them into love. Hino Rei had trained several eager acolytes in the lost art of fire reading. The outers just contributed their talents as well (use your imagination because I couldn’t think of anything). Setsuna even gave up her position in place of retirement on her planet with her consort, Charon.

They all had their lovers but living so long they decided to wait. Except for Serenity who had Chibi Usa from the start. Chibi Usa had a child with Helios as the years progressed. But also as the years progressed many of the power hungry courtiers became envious of the power and immortality the rulers possessed. Some evil men and women schemed. They formed a secret universal alliance known as the ‘Kaudou Renritsu’ (Justice Alliance I believe it translates to).

The terran Marquis Goro Anami and his wife Hitoshi headed ‘Kaudou Renritsu’. They had a daughter named Naoko, a couple of years older then Princess Lady’s (Chibi Usa or Small Lady but I can’t think of a name to call her and I refuse to use Rini!) daughter Selene. Naoko was the ten-year old Selene’s oldest Lady-in-Waiting and Selene practically adored her and tried to be like her. The Marquis noticed this and his daughter was just as ambitious as the father so he began to use his daughter’s influence to corrupt Selene. It started with Naoko planting an idea in Selene’s head…

The ten-old Selene lay in a four poster bed. The Lunarian princess, Lady was siting nearby on a chair. She was half sleep. "Kaasan, can you read me another story?" Selene asked half sleep. "Which one would you like hear?" Lady asked while smoothing some of Selene’s lavender ondagos. "I wanna hear the one where (grandmother) defeated Beryl with the crystal thinggie." "It’s called a Ginzuishou and Chibi Selene, you’ve heard that story a million times why not have Helios tell it?" "Okaasan can’t tell a story like you do kaasan. Please," begged. Lady looked at the pleading expression on her angelic daughter’s face and couldn’t say no. "Oh, all right. You talked me into it. Let’s see…I wasn’t there but Michiru-san let me look at it through her aqua mirror. You know about the rainbow crystals right? Well your grandmother Serenity, who was known as Usagi back then, went into the Negaverse (a.n. - I think it was the negaverse or someplace that snowed) to have a show down with Beryl. The other inner Senshi were there as well. They sacrificed themselves to protect Usagi from the Doom and Gloom girls…" she trailed off into the story.

"…and then Beryl went into a rage. Using all of her power she tried to defeat Usagi-hime. But Usagi-hime had her Ginzuishou and with the strength of her friend’s spirits behind her she defeated the evil Queen Beryl and-" Lady stopped as she realized that Selene was asleep. Stealthily, she made her way to the door and turned off the light. Lady looked back and saw Selene was talking her sleep. "Kaasan, when can I use the Ginzuishou?" Selene mumbled in her sleep. Lady looked out into the halls and closed her eyes. "When you’re Queen my Chibi Selene," she answered finally. Turning off the magic lights in the room she left, having a lot to think about herself.

*Three Years Later*

Selene sat on a small couch in one of her waiting rooms in Crystal Tokyo. "…and then he thought he could get me to dance with him after I saw him flirting with Megumi, that baka. I dumped him so fast," one of her ten ladies’ in waiting said (really girls). Selene laughed too. Naoko was brushing out her long lavender hair. Naoko was somewhat jealous of Selene’s beautiful violet eyes and hair herself having short red hair and brown eyes. "You know Elsa wore a horrid dress to the midwinter ball. She was the laughing stalk of the ball. It was so tacky but she deserved it!" another girl said. Selene nodded; she was always one of the first ones to criticize and often conformed to everybody else’s ways. She was…vain. "Selene?" Naoko asked while continuing to brush Selene’s hair. The other ladies in waiting were so absorbed in their conversation and didn’t notice a new one had sprung up.

"Yes Oko-san?" Selene asked using her nickname for her mentor. "You know there’s that ball next week. The annual one where all of the people of power get together? I was wondering what you were going to wear?" Naoko asked conversationally. "Oh! I completely forgot…let’s see. I have that new blue gown with the silk imported from Io. I could wear that with…" she couldn’t think of what else to say. "With those new satin slippers," Naoko supplied. "Yeah, with those slippers and the dark blue purse…no the white one…or the light-blue one…" she stopped. "The blue one," Naoko interrupted. "Yeah, and the jewels from…" "The Ginzuishou would look best," Naoko added.

"Yeah and the Ginzuishou…wait that’s not mine. It’s my grandmother’s and Kaasan has a small part of it. I need some jewelry to wear…" Selene said trying to think. "When are you going to get it?" "Get what? Oh that. Kaasan says I’ll get it when I’m Queen. She only has a piece because she was a Sailor Senshi." Selene continued her thoughts on the jewelry. "When are you going to be Queen?" Naoko prodded. "I don’t know…maybe I should ask grandmother and Kaasan," she thought. This conversation had changed her views on the world. Naoko gave a twisted smile, unseen by Selene, and continued to brush Selene’s hair.

*One Week Later*

Serenity sat on a large throne in the petition room in the Crystal Palace. Endymion sat on a throne at her right. Lady sat on a tier lower then theirs, beside her sat Helios and a little ways down sat Selene.

The last Petitioner left. The older Royalty deliberated the matter of the high taxes placed on Martian magic lights. "Kaasaan, Okaasan? Grandma, Grandpa?" Selene asked timidly. "Yes child," Endymion said. "I was wondering. I am very interested in politics…I was wondering when is it going to be my turn to be Queen?" she asked slowly. Serenity laughed. Deep inside Selene was hurt. They thought she was trying to be funny but she was serious. "Selene you aren’t ready for that responsibility…now then what are we going to do about the taxes," Helios said effectively changing the subject. Selene excused herself and after sparing a look back at the hateful Queen who laughed at her she ran out. Luna, standing at Serenity’s side was the only one who saw the look. "There may be problems for us from that girl in the future…" she thought and filed that look away for future reference.

*Later That Day*

Selene sat on her couch. Naoko was the only lady in waiting available and she was brushing out Selene’s hair. "Why are you crying?" Naoko asked in a sugary voice although she already knew the answer. "They laughed at me *sniff* I asked and they said I wasn’t ready. Serenity-sama laughed at me *crying*." "It’s okay Selene-hime. I’m here." Selene managed a weak smile for her role model. "You know what?" Naoko asked. "What?" "I think you would make a wonderful Queen…it’s just that…" Naoko stopped trying to capture the Princess’s attention. "Just what?"

"The only people standing in your way are your grandmother Serenity and your mother. Your Grandmother has been ruling too long. She looks seventeen but she’s been alive for centuries. Its time for her to step down, and give the throne and Ginzuishou to somebody younger." "But that would mean my Kaasan," Selene said curious. "But your Kaasan doesn’t like power. She wouldn’t know what to do with it…" "That would mean me!" Selene said beginning to get the idea. "Well I of course would have to act as Regent until you got to the proper age," Naoko said. Selene looked disappointed. "But I could give you all of the money and toys you want until then. You can even have the Ginzuishou," Naoko added.

Selene’s mood brightened but then as an idea struck her she looked sad. "But Serenity and Small Lady…have to be dead in-in order for me to be Queen or for you to be Regent…" Naoko shook her head. "No they don’t. It’s really the Ginzuishou that makes Serenity the Moon-hime. We can get it from her!" Naoko said with enthusiasm. "Are you sure nothing’s wrong with that?" Selene asked curiously. "Nothing at all. In fact do you want to know a secret?" she asked. Selene nodded. "My father and his friends have made a con-club," she corrected herself, as she was about to say conspiracy. "They have been working in secret so that you can get the throne."

"Really?" Selene asked excited. She loved secrets and adventures. "Yes really. But we need you to lead us. You are the true Neo Queen…" Naoko let the words hang for emphasis. "I wanna join! But isn’t that bad to do things behind peoples backs?" "No it’s not. You are going to be a better Queen then Serenity. Serenity is scared that you could rule the Kingdoms better. You are a natural born leader. Let me ask you this Selene, do you really want to be Queen?" Selene didn’t even have to think about it. She had always wanted to be Queen. "Yes! Yes! I’ll do it." "Good…I’ll tell my father. Now then, let’s finish your hair."

*5 years later*

(Note: Selene is 17 and officially stopped aging.)

She was on her father’s estates, which were now hers because he died mysteriously a week before. Naoko twirled her fingers around a strand of her curly red hair, lost in thought. "Selene has progressed nicely. She might be even more devious then I thought, I’ll have to watch her. Father told me to give Selene a flower he said had traces of Chaos on it. He said it would make her more willing to follow orders. He lied! He only did that because he didn’t want me to have more power then he did…I’m glad I had him poisoned. Now Selene has taken over everything that was supposed to be mine. No more Regency…Well no matter. I’m second in command anyway. But I have to watch myself; she might kill me if she doesn’t have any use for me. But the Ginzuishou will be mine, I just have to get it first…but how?" she thought.

There was a knock at the door. Naoko wondered who it could be because she had all of the servants on orders not to disturb her. "Come in," she said sharply, mad that her thoughts were interrupted. The door opened and closed after the man came in. He had long silver hair and stunning blue eyes, aside from the devious smirk on his face he was very bishonen. "My beloved wife, how good to see you," he said in sugary tones. His name was Katsunan, and was Naoko’s husband through an arranged marriage. "What do you want Kat-kun?" she asked. They were in love not only that but they both shared the same goals.

"Your Okaasan left this on his writing desk before he died. I believe I have found a way to take Serenity off of the throne with a couple of added bonuses," he said mysteriously. Katsunan handed her a very old sheet of paper.

Naoko glanced through it, her eyes furrowed. Then she looked up at Katsunan, a big smile on her face. She hugged and kissed her husband while jumping for joy. "Its perfect! It’s perfect!" she exclaimed. Katsunan smiled. "That spell is pretty strong. The user absorbs the power of the victim. Selene-baka can read the spell and get the power of the other Senshi before getting Serenity and Usa’s Ginzuishou power…but it’s missing something…" Naoko trailed off. Katsunan pulled a velvet case from behind his back and opened it. Inside was a small sliver of Serenity’s magic crystal, it even glowed with its own pure light. "It’s a part of the Ginzuishou. It’s Selene’s link to steal the power of the other crystals. This way we can get rid of all of the Planetery Senshi and our favorite Lunarian Royal family at the same time. We’ll be unstoppable!" Katsunan said excitedly.

Naoko looked confused. "Oh my dear half-wit you are so simple…See Selene uses this piece of the crystal and absorbs the planetary power of the other Senshi, they die. Then stronger then before she has enough power to take both halves of the Ginzuishou from Serenity and Lady, they die. Selene can’t do it with out killing herself. She essentially is the Ginzuishou. She can’t drain them without draining herself and by then it would be too late. We rid ourselves of the evil tyrant Selene and gain the entire Universe as well!" Katsunan explained dryly. Naoko smiled, beginning to understand. "I’ll give the crystal to her right now. She has a meeting with me in couple of hours. And she is blinded with her hate for her mother and grandmother that she won’t see our…betrayal. And my love, we will have it all…" she said.

*Two Years Later*

Selene sat on a writing desk on her large estates on the Moon. She played absentmindedly with the small piece of the Ginzuishou in her right hand. Chaos had controlled most of her now, letting the real Selene think she was doing everything on her own. She was always kaasan’s Chibi Selene and the whole court loved her though she was cruel to those close around her on her own estates. "I will initiate the plan soon…but when…All of the planetary Senshi will be on earth in a couple of days…for the Ball commemorating the founding of Crystal Tokyo…yes that will be a perfect time to strike. I can get the power of the Senshi then get the power of the Ginzuishou from my ‘Kaasan’ and Serenity-baka. They all die, all of the Royalty. They deserve to die for the suffering they put me through. It doesn’t matter; they’ve lived long enough. The Ginzuishou was and is rightfully mine. I will be Queen!" she said decisively and pounded her hand on the metal desk, leaving a big dent on it. It was Chaos warping her thoughts.

Part II of Prologue

Serenity sat on a throne behind a long elaborately decorated table. Endymion sat on her right. And her daughter and her husband sat on her right. Selene was in bed with ‘a cold.’ Most of the other planetary Senshi had arrived and were seated on their colored with their rightful colors. Ami was seated on a throne next to Ryo. Hotaru was on a throne with her husband to be Ran (just some random name not WK the other Ran is mine). Haruka sat with Michiru and Pluto sat with Charon. Luna, Diana and Artimis sat together as well. The Kings and Queens of Mars, Venus and Jupiter were yet to arrive. It was late though and Serenity had to officially announce the start of the ball. She stood up, along with all of the other Royalty and took a wineglass in her hand. She struck it once with a fork to get the attention of the hundreds of people in the room.

"Good evening ladies and gentlemen. Thank you for coming. As you all know this is the 150th anniversary of the end of the wars…" she launched into the long speech she had prepared.

(From the balcony)

Selene looked down at the scene the Queen made and laughed. "Pitiful humans. This is no peace…" Chaos/Selene said in an evil sounding voice, different from before. Serenity finished her speech and everybody sat down but not before giving a deafening applause. Selene narrowed her violet eyes. "It begins now…" she whispered ominously.

*Io Castle* (at about the same time)

Makoto wore a pair of khaki shorts and a loose white top. It was fitting since she wore gloves and was getting dirty working in the garden. Then somebody grabbed her from behind; she struggled then relaxed as she caught her husband’s warm scent. She could tell he was mad about something. "Koto-chan aren’t we forgetting something?" he asked mischievously. "Like what Saki-kun?" she asked truthfully. "Doesn’t the ball ring a bell?" he asked. "The ball…the ball. Oh no! The ball is today. It started! We’re late!" "You get so caught up in your work Makoto. That’s what I love about you…well only when you get caught up in me…" he said and wrapped an arm around her waist.

"Saki-kun now’s not the time! We have to go. Serenity-chan is going to be mad. I’m turning into her when she was Usagi," Makoto said alarmed. "And we don’t want that. If we hurry we might get there right after her speech. Then we have to go catch a Space Cruiser at the spaceport…lets hope we’re not too late," Shinosaki said and ran with her back into the palace.

*Venus Palace (at the same time)*

"Motoki which one do you like better?" NeoQueen Minako asked from their Royal Suite. She held about four elaborately decorated white dresses. The King didn’t see the point. A dress was a dress after all. "The white one looks good on you. Anything looks good on you. Now hurry up. The Ball already started. We’re going to be late," he said getting frustrated. ‘He looks so cute when he’s angry,’ Minako thought. "Does my butt look big in it?" she asked. Motoki would have face-faulted if he had the room with all of the dresses thrown about. "Minako!" he said again. "You’re cute when you’re angry Motoki-kun. Let me change. I’ll be ready in a click of the thigh," she said with a grin.

"It’s in the blink of an eye Minako…now get ready. We have to run and catch a space cruiser too and that might take awhile so some on," Motoki said.

*Back at the Crystal Palace on Earth*

Queen Serenity waltzed on the ballroom floor with Endymion. "Just like old times, ne Mamoru?" she asked. Her husband nodded. Then a jolt hit the room. All of the guests were on the floor. "We’re under attack!" somebody yelled. Everybody was in a rush to get out of the palace and away from the danger. "Stay calm!" Ryo shouted. Everybody didn’t listen and soon the ballroom was empty except for the Royalty (excluding Venus, Jupiter and Mars). Then there was a large crash. A giant mechanoid robot crashed into the room, One of Ami’s prototypes.

"Who are you?" Haruka demanded. There was no answer as several other robots appeared inside. Suddenly one stepped forward, the leader. The hatch opened. Selene jumped down. Her lavender ondagos and black dress trailed behind her. She focused her eyes on Small Lady. "Hello mother," she said in a twisted voice. Energy radiated from her that they all recognized. She was no longer the Selene they knew, she was possessed. "Chaos," Serenity whispered, clearly shocked. "My Chibi, Selene," Lady whispered and began taking steps forward. Helios held her back forcefully.

They all knew the truth about what was about to begin. "Leave her body Chaos!" Michiru screamed. "Really do you think I went through all of this waiting just to leave. No…I came for you. Actually for you elemental energy. Let’s cut to the chase. I have a bit of your Ginzuishou. I will absorb all of your energy and then take what’s rightfully mine…ours I should say. The throne belongs to me. But Serenity you were so blind to what was going on right under your nose. The power belongs to me. Now hand it over willingly or you die…actually you’ll die anyway but I promise to make it quick," she said.

Those startling violet eyes were trained on her mother. Nobody spoke for a second. Then one of the mobile suit prototypes fired a round in the ground right in front of the Senshi at Selene’s signal. "I hope you realize you don’t have to be alive for this experiment." "Run!" Serenity yelled. "No we stay and fight!" Haruka protested. "That’s an order! We need to go to the top of the tower. We need a plan," Serenity yelled. She knew what they had to do to destroy Chaos/Selene but she wanted to delay it as much as possible. "Nooooo!" Small Lady screamed. She had to be carried by Helios who was equally distraught.

At Serenity’s command all of the Senshi raced up the palace steps and began the long climb to the top of the tower and what would hopefully be Sanctuary, their enemies in hot pursuit. "Run my little pets. Let yourselves think you are safe. It only makes the game more interesting," Selene/Chaos thought.

*Mars Palace*

Rei was kneeling down in a ball gown. Yuchirro beside her was dressed up and doing the same. Her eyes were closed, her brows furrowed. A fire blazed up in front of her. They both made symbols with their hands. She was attempting to read the Sacred Fire due to a bad feeling she had been having. The feeling was so bad that she was willing to be late to the ball.

<Rei’s Vision>

Rei stood as a silent observer. She had just finished witnessing Selene’s betrayal that she knew had happened only moments earlier. After expecting to be brought back out of her trance she was still stuck in it. Apparently the Sacred Fire had more to tell her. She recognized where she was getting aboard the two-person space cruiser that would take her to the Crystal palace. It was raining. Yuchirro was boarding beside her. Then they were under attack. Yuchirro fell victim to one of the arrows. Then the vision took her once more to the crystal Palace. Serenity and the others had barricaded themselves in a room at the top of a tower.

</Vision>

She found herself crying in Yuchirro’s arms a moment later. "I don’t want you to die…" she whispered. "Nobody is going to die. Now lets go up to the space port and get ourselves a cruiser." Yuchirro didn’t press Rei about her vision. Together they went up to the floating Spaceport.

They took a floating platform up to the port. But they found the port completely devoid of any life other then themselves. It was unsettling. Then Rei felt a drop of water splash on her head…like from her vision. "Come on we’ve got to get to the cruiser!" Rei yelled, panicked. Her husband didn’t know what was going on but took the hand she offered and ran towards the single cruiser.

Then all of a sudden Rei felt Yuchirro’s full weight against her body as he collapsed on her. She immediately looked for his pulse. His pulse was weak. An arrow protruded from his back. Her body felt numb. "My vision…my vision," she whispered. "Everything happens for a reason my love. Now get away, go take the cruiser and warn the Queen. We are under attack," he whispered. "I can’t leave you," she cried. The sound of loud footsteps was getting closer. "Go," he whispered.

Yuchirro breathed out his last breath of air. "Yuchirro!" she screamed. It dawned on her that he was dead and she could do nothing about it. Then she screamed again as she saw she was nearly surrounded by large mobile suits. One stepped forward. A hologram projected from its chest. It was Selene. Rei realized that the first part of her vision was true and that meant that Selene was their enemy, Chaos. "If you’re watching this hologram then your husband King Yuchirro is dead. I wanted you to watch him die. Now it will be your turn. Then I will have the power of fire to my collection. Now then I have to leave, tata, I have a party to crash and more power to steal. I’ll personally kill the Queen though. Now then bare your neck so that my mobile suits can kill you," the hologram said and disappeared.

The mobile suits were closing in. "Yuchirro is dead. There is nothing to live for…but my duty. I have to defeat Chaos. My life is Serenity’s first. I can join him after this is done," she thought sadly. Rei ran through the legs of a mobile suit and boarded her cruiser. Her destination, Earth.

*Venus Space Port*

Minako was in her cruiser with Motoki. Motoki was at the controls. Nothing weird happened at their departure. At the moment they were preparing to enter earth’s atmosphere. Then there the ship shook. Minako was thrown out of her seat. "We’re under attack from some of Ami’s prototype mobile suits. Stay calm," Motoki said. Minako couldn’t stay calm. Motoki’s radar showed them surrounded by four suits and the cruiser wasn’t equipped with weapons. Motoki was a good pilot but not that good. One mobile suit hovered in front of them.

It projected the image of Selene. "Let’s make this short and simple my pets. You’re Selene is gone. I am Chaos. You will die; I will take your energy. Mars and Jupiter are my other victims. Your other friends are at the palace but I’ve decided to wait until I kill them. So you better enjoy these last moments," Selene said. The hologram faded. Minako felt so betrayed. Then a barrage of missiles hit the cruiser. A red siren blared, signaling danger. "Damn it! The left engine isn’t working and the radio tower isn’t working," Motoki cursed. "Come on, let’s get out of here. We can take the parachutes," Minako said.

"You can go Minako but I’ve got to land the cruiser. It will crash into the city and many people will die. You go on ahead, I’ll catch up with you. We’ll meet up at the spaceport and go to the palace to warn Serenity." Motoki gave Minako a long passionate kiss as she put on her parachute. "Now go. And if anything happens…if anything happens…Ashiteru," he said. Minako desperately wanted him to come but Motoki was a good pilot and would make it. Minako opened the hatch and dived out then opened her parachute. She watched the cruiser as it attempted a landing in the space around the spaceport. But it exploded and Minako didn’t see anybody escape.

"Motoki!" she shrieked. Tears dripped down her soot-stained face. She couldn’t believe what her eyes showed her, Motoki was gone.

She landed on the airstrip. It was deserted…except for several scores of mobile suits… all of them focused on the NeoQueen of Venus. "I have to go warn the Queen. It is my duty to warn her. If she dies then its all my fault. Motoki why’d you have to die…" she thought. "Venus Eternal Power!" she screamed. Seconds later there stood a winged Eternal Sailor Venus, ready to fight her way out to get to the Crystal Palace.

*Jupiter Space Port*

Makoto and Shinosaki took the floating platform up to the spaceport. It was really full…full of youmas. "What the hell…" she thought. Then a hologram appeared in front of them of Selene-hime. "Oh, did I catch you at a bad time? Well I wanted to get to you before my friends ate you. See I made a little treaty with the leftover negaverse youmas and being Chaos really makes people listen to you. So after you die I will take your elemental energy and put it together with the other energy from the other senshi and I will take over this universe. Now I have to go, the youmas are getting hungry." The hologram disappeared.

Makoto felt anger and betrayal, more anger though. "Jupiter Eternal-" "Don’t Makoto!" Shinosaki shouted. "Remember? This space port is run on a different magic and if you use magic here the place will explode." Makoto shrugged. Shinosaki took out a sword from its sheath. It was mostly ornamental but was just about the only weapon they had. Makoto and Shinosaki worked their way through the mass of demonic monsters, Makoto with her natural fighting ability and Shinosaki with his sword.

Makoto screamed as a dinosaur type youma raked her back with its claws. Her green dress was drenched in blood. Shinosaki was at her side holding the monsters at bay. Finally they made it inside the ship. Shinosaki closed the doors and set Makoto down on the floor. He used his shirt to bind the sounds of the unconscious Makoto. "Makoto…" he whispered. But he realized that if they didn’t get out of there now that the youma would find a way in. He ran to the controls and hurriedly typed in the launch codes.

Something wasn’t working. An image of the ship popped up on the screen. It showed that the jack was still connected to the ship and was preventing it from launching. Punching in some codes he kissed Makoto and left the ship, on what he knew would be a suicide mission and wished that things would have been different. He was hurt far worse then Makoto but didn’t show it. A poisonous lizard youma type youma had bit him. Shinosaki felt his vision blur but he continued to fight his way through the youma. Then he lost his fight, as the poison claimed him, but not before releasing the cruiser from its bindings.

*In space, a couple thousand miles away from the Earth Space Port*

Makoto groaned and made an attempt to get up. That was a bad idea. She was lucky as she fainted again from the pain rather then feel the full extent of her pain.

She woke five minutes later feeling a little better. She knew if she attempted to get up again without being careful she would pass out. Using a bar on the wall she slowly got up and made her way to the captain’s chair and sat. "What happened?" she thought. Then it came to her. She was on the cruiser but not at the spaceport where they fought the youma. "Shinozaki?" she called out. No reply.

Then she fit the pieces together. The fact she was wearing Shinosaki’s shirt to bind her wounds showed that he carried her to the ship. The ship had to have been tied up and Shinosaki was missing. "Computer, is Shinosaki aboard the ship?" Makoto asked. "No Queen Makoto, he put me on auto pilot and went to go take the bindings off the ship," Aria answered. Makoto expected that answer. "Is he-is he alive?" she asked hopefully although she too knew the answer to that one. "No. He was poisoned after battling a youma. He died valiantly," the feminine computer voice said. Makoto should have been comforted but the words coming from a thing devoid of emotion did the opposite. Makoto let out all of her emotions and was thankful that sound didn’t carry through space.

"Makoto? Makoto?" the AI computer system asked for like the millionth time. Makoto finished letting out the flood of her emotions. "What?" she snapped. "What are you planning to do now?" it asked. "What do you mean? You’re the computer," she said dryly. "Shinosaki didn’t have time and just gave me instructions to get you as far from there as possible. We are by the moon now. What do you want me to do?" it repeated with its infinite patience. "The Crystal Palace! Selene is possessed and I have to save my Queen. I can’t go back. Shinosaki is dead. I have no where to go but forward. Maybe it’s not to late. But I need help if Selene is really possessed by Chaos. I know that Minako and Rei were late as well…maybe they didn’t get there yet," she thought.

"Aria hail Aphrodite and Aries," Makoto said naming Venus and Mars’s ships. There was a long pause. "The Aphrodite was destroyed and the Aries is currently on Earth’s space port." "The Aphrodite was…destroyed?" she asked. "That is what I said." "We are all soldiers she knew the danger when she decided to become a Sailor Senshi. I now have to go and help. Aria contact the Control Tower on Earth and prepare our landing. Then hail any other ships in the area. We need help." There was another long pause.

"Earth’s Control Tower is not responding. Something is wrong." ‘No shit, it’s probably under attack too.’ "There are no ships in the area however there are four unidentified objects approaching fast," Aria answered. "Unidentified objects? Show them on the screen." On the screen were about ten mobile suits coming up. "We need to get to earth! There’s no way to fight those things. We don’t have weapons," Makoto said. "Queen Makoto the Contr-" "That was an order!" "Yes My Queen."

An hour later they were entering Earth’s atmosphere. They had successfully out run the mobile suits. "Aria put the Earth Spaceport on the screen." The spaceport appeared on the screen. It was fuzzy and hard to see. Makoto saw several bright bursts of red and yellow lights. There was one red space cruiser parked there and a fire a little ways off where the fiery wreckage of one cruiser was all that was left. "Aria enhance the image directly by the space port." The image now showed about forty mobile suits fighting two small figures that Makoto believed were Eternal Sailor Venus and Mars. Their husbands were nowhere to be seen and she assumed the worst just as Shinosaki had died in her case.

"Where would you like us to land my Queen?" Aria asked. "Land directly behind the Sailor Senshi." As the ship began it’s landing Makoto transformed. Seconds later a winged Eternal Sailor Jupiter jumped out of the ship and joined Venus and Mars in battle

*Crystal Palace*

Serenity was racking her brains out trying to find a solution to their dilemma. They were currently locked in the top room of the tower. Selene and her minions were undoubtedly on the other side trying to figure a way in. "Ami why aren’t you thinking!" Serenity snapped. "I’m sorry," Ami said. "No, I’m sorry we need to think of something," Serenity said. Artimis and Luna had come up with something and got the attention of everybody in the room. "We have a plan," Luna said.

"See, Selene wants our power but she can’t touch us if we’re…gods," Artimis said. "What are you talking about we’re not goddesses," Haruka said. "I’ve read during the Silver Millennium a book. We have never achieved our final forms. In about five minutes all of the planets will be aligned and we can begin. There is a sacrifice we all must make," Luna said.

"Anything. We can’t go let Chaos have our power," Serenity said. "Well…once in our final forms we will have overwhelming power but gods aren’t allowed to stay in this dimension because just being here would effect the world around us. We would have to go to the realm of the gods," Artimis said. "And what’s so hard about that?" Charon asked. "The rulers of the planets control the weather and atmosphere of the planet. We essentially are the magic that runs the planet. If we leave, we take all of the magic with us causing many people to die. But if we don’t then…Selene will have our power and destroy us all. Earth will survive however because it is completely devoid of magic. Do you wish to do this? The decision is yours Serenity," Luna said.

Serenity examined all of the faces in the room. They were willing to go along with what she decided. "Yes, we must do it. We can’t let Chaos win. We can destroy it in our final forms," she said with a pained look on her face. "No, mother! You can’t that’s my daughter. You can’t destroy her! She doesn’t know what she’s doing!" Lady cried. Helios restrained her. "What about Venus, Mars and Jupiter? They are still out there. We can’t just leave them," Michiru said. "Do you think I want to be the one to decide the fate of the universe? It’s very hard on me. We have to start now. If they are out there they will come. What do we do now?" Serenity asked the guardians.

Following their directions to the letter they began. The Ginzuishou floated in the air. The Senshi were surrounding it. "Mercury Crystal Power!" Ami and Ryo shouted. The blue planetary stone of Mercury flew around the Ginzuishou. "Neptune Crystal Power…" and they continued the transformation.

Part III of Prologue (the last part, and then we meet the bishonen G-boys, promise)

*Earth's Spaceport*

Jupiter collapsed to her knees as the last mobile suit fell behind her. They were all injured, but not as badly as if Mars didn't use a shield to protect them. Out of all of them Jupiter was the most injured. "Come on lets go! We have to get to Crystal Palace. I feel a great power building. We have to go now," Mars said. They both turned to Jupiter who was on her knees, staring into space. "I'm not going.leave me here. Maybe.maybe I will die and meet my Shinosaki again," she whispered. Mars breached the distance and slapped Jupiter. "Don't you think I am hurting. I lost my Yuchirro. He died in front of my eyes. Now we have to go. Our duty is first to Serenity then to our own kingdoms. If we don't hurry we might not have either of them," Mars said.

"She's right Makoto," Venus said. Jupiter struggled to get up. Venus helped her. "I'm sorry. Let's go there and defeat Chaos for the last time," she said with one of her old smiles on her face. Mars mirrored her smile. Supporting Jupiter between them Mars and Venus flew to Crystal Palace.

*The Tower at Crystal Palace*

Selene walked up the steps with deliberate slowness. She was thinking of the many ways she could kill them all. About four mobile suits followed her. Finally she reached the top. Naoko and Katsunan stood outside of the double doors in which the Senshi had barricaded themselves. They didn't hear Selene's arrival. "Are you sure it will work?" Naoko asked. "Yes, for the millionth time. We will rule together. Nobody can stop us," Katsunan answered.

Chaos/Selene's glowing violet eyes narrowed. She held out her hand and a black curved dagger appeared in it. She grabbed Naoko from behind and pressed the dagger against her throat. "I don't tolerate treachery, even from you Oko-chan," Selene whispered in the terrified woman's ear. With a small flick of her wrist she slit Naoko's throat, ending her screams and protests. Katsunan turned and froze in terror but then his court training (his ability to act calm in tough situations, etc.) took over. "I didn't like that slut anyway. She brainwashed me. The only reason why I married her was to get closer to you." he lied.

Selene's mind surfaced and Chaos was briefly beaten down. "Really?" she asked, blushing. He took advantage of it and kissed her gently. She was enamored by that kiss. "You don't know how much I want you," he replied. It technically wasn't a lie because he did want Selene, if not for her beauty then for her power. He circled her like a cat toying with its prey. Running his hands along her back. Then the Chaos mindset resurfaced. Her eyes glowed once more. Katsunan stopped and backed away slowly, as he was aware that she knew his intentions. He made a mad dash to the staircase in hopes of getting away.

Selene/Chaos aimed the dagger and caught him in the chest. He stumbled and fell the rest of the way down the long staircase. "Nobody toys with me," she said. Selene felt a power building. The power.it was greater then she could have imagined and she wanted it.

She ordered a mobile suit to bust in the double doors of their hiding place. The mobile suits waited outside as she walked in. All of the Senshi, whose power she craved, were in a circle, each one of them glowed with the energy of their planets. "So I see that you've decided to just give your powers to me. Thank you," Selene said. They ignored her and apparently were waiting for something to happen. Selene hated being ignored. "Moon Crystal Power!" Endymion, Serenity, Helios and Small Lady shouted.

That appeared to be what everybody was waiting for. The multicolored orb that floated in the center of the circle appeared to be all of their power manifested in a physical form. "That's my power!" Selene said. She stepped forward and was prepared to breach the circle to take the orb but she was knocked back into the wall by a burst of energy. The room began to glow brighter then finally the light died down. The Senshi (everybody in the room other then Chaos) were now glowing. The orb was gone but instead they all were exhibiting an aura. Their power was unbelievable. They had achieved their final transformation, they were gods.

Selene watched them with a mixture of awe, fascination, terror, greed and apprehension. "We must leave. We have had orders from higher powers not to intervene anymore," Hotaru said. They all nodded. At Setsuna's signal a gateway into the realm of the gods appeared. They began to walk through it; Lady was the second to last and was the only one to spare a look to Selene. "Goodbye" she mouthed and disappeared into the gateway. "Wait! Come back here!" Chaos yelled with the shard of the Ginzuishou in her hand. Serenity, the last one, stopped and turned around. She had a look of pity on her face. "Give me my power!" she yelled. The shard of Ginzuishou in her hand pulsed a brilliant pink.

Chaos felt the awesome power of the Goddess Serenity. Serenity stood unmoving for a moment then raised her hand. Chaos fell to the floors; the power that coursed through her was too much. "Do you want the power so badly that you were willing to destroy everyone? That is not the Selene we know, that is Chaos. Fight it," Serenity said. Selene/Chaos screamed. She clawed at her face. Blood pouring out of the long scratch marks. Then finally she collapsed, in a fetal position.

Serenity kneeled by her and held her for a moment. "I'm sorry Ojisan. I'm sorry," Selene said in her child like voice, a voice from before she was poisoned with Chaos. Serenity stroked her head gently. "Its okay granddaughter, Its okay." Then the double doors opened and they both stared at the faces of the missing Senshi.

*Elsewhere in Crystal Palace (at exactly the same time)*

Venus, Mars and Jupiter had seen the carnage that the previous attack left in the ballroom and prayed they were not too late. They ran up the stairway to the top of a tower where Rei knew from their vision that that was where they were.

Mars was in the lead, Venus then Jupiter (because of her injury) watching their backs. Mars tripped on something and landed on the stairway, banging her collarbone on a stair. She looked at the stair next to her and screamed. There on the stair, surrounded by a puddle of mud was the body of Katsunan, the Marquis of the Moon. She screamed until Jupiter roughly covered her mouth. It was a danger to their mission if they were to be found out. "Is that who I think it is?" Venus asked. Mars nodded; she barely knew the cruel Marquis and had hated him.

Jupiter motioned towards the dagger protruding from his chest. It reeked of something. "Chaos," Jupiter whispered. They left the body seconds later. Their resolve to get to the top was is nothing strengthened by their encounter with the bloody corpse of the Marquis.

Finally after what seemed like an eternity, they reached the top. Much to Venus's dismay there were four mobile suits guarding the double doors. Jupiter screamed her frustration. You have to understand that they had been fighting so many mobile suits earlier that she didn't want to see another one ever again. "Jupiter, oak evolution!" she shouted. All four of the suits were put out of order by the rage-driven attack.

"Let's go," Mars said. They picked their way around the remains of the machines and finally reached the double doors. Mars all but kicked it down. The large room was empty except for Serenity who was comforting Selene. Selene looked nothing like the twisted women from Mars's vision but more like the innocent girl she once had been. And it became apparent to the Senshi that Serenity was no longer human, a goddess and that they had won whatever battle had been fought. "But at what price?" Jupiter thought.

"Serenity?" Venus asked uncertainly. The unearthly being that looked like Serenity smiled and nodded. "Then is that.is that Selene or Chaos?" Mars asked. The Chaos mindset resurfaced in Selene's mind. Selene's eyes glowed. "It's Chaos you twit!" she snapped and viscously pushed the goddess away. "Selene, free your mind," Serenity repeated. (A.N.- In this part Selene will sound like a Schizophrenic. Sorry about any confusion it may cause).

Selene stood. "Please stop this madness Chaos," Selene begged. Her eyes glowed. "You want the Ginzuishou don't you?" Chaos asked. Selene grabbed her head in pain. "No, not anymore," Selene said. "But you can do nothing about it. You're a weak willed human. I will control this body completely and finish my plans," Chaos said in a twisted voice. "No you can't! You will not!" Selene commanded. "And what are you going to do about it?" Chaos asked. "End it all." Selene said gravely.

"What? You can't do that!" Chaos said. "This is my body and I will not have you telling me what I can and can't do," Selene said. Selene turned and fixed her gaze on the three senshi. "I am sorry," Selene whispered. Selene walked slowly towards the end of the room and then broke out into a run. The senshi were puzzled until they saw her heading for a large open balcony. Selene climbed on the railing and jumped off gracefully. Chaos had no time to respond to her actions. Together, Selene and Chaos plummeted down to meet the ground below, effectively ending it all. She didn't scream the whole way down.

In fact there wasn't any sound as the shocked group stood transfixed at the open balcony in which Selene had jumped through. Serenity stood, taking their attention. "Gods Usagi, what happened?" Venus asked reverting to Serenity's old name. "Your partially correct," she said with a smile. It took the group awhile to piece everything together. "You mean you're a goddess!" Mars exclaimed. "This does not seem like a place to explain," Serenity said confusing them all.

She waved her hand and they appeared floating in space in their regular forms. Nothing was in sight, just endless black. This was a testament to the extent of her powers. In front of them floated a large screen. It began to play the events of the day starting with the attack at the ball. When it was done Serenity waited for their reaction. Minako collapsed on the floor. "Serenity they took Motoki away from me!" she cried. Serenity put a soothing hand on her shoulder. "But if you are all gods then doesn't that mean that the planets will go back to how they were before?" Rei asked.

Serenity nodded sadly. "Why?" Makoto asked. "We had to. Chaos would have taken all of our powers. It was the only way out. Would you rather have this universe and eventually others destroyed because we couldn't stop her? As gods we can fix what she caused. We thought we would have the power to destroy her and we did. But we got orders from.higher up saying not to interfere. They apparently knew what would happen and didn't want us to interfere." Makoto looked apologetic. "But what about our kingdoms? Without the other planets who will rule us?" Minako asked.

"There will be no more kingdoms. I'm afraid you must make a sacrifice. But before you say no hear me out. Chaos may still be out there if not Chaos then some of its followers. You have access to the powers of your planets, the power they want. But they might find a way to get it without going through you, and undoubtedly they will, what are you going to do then? Earth will survive and life will go on.we can make so they don't remember Crystal Tokyo. Please think this out," Serenity pleaded.

"What do we have to do?" Makoto asked. "You must absorb the power of your planet into yourself. You won't be goddesses though.something that I'm not permitted to tell you but its not bad if it was I wouldn't be talking to you about this. Remember that it's easier to hide a person then a planet. If you don't then we might all be doomed," Serenity said. Minako, Rei and Makoto thought about it.

On one hand life on their planets and moons would stop and on the other the universe would be saved and life would go on. They had nothing better to do other then the possibility of killing themselves out of sadness. "I'll do it," Makoto said sadly, it was not an easy decision to make. "Me too," Rei said. They turned their attention to Minako. She looked up at them through tear filled eyes. "I will on one condition," she said.

"What is it?" Serenity asked. "You said you had the power to take away memories. Can-you.I mean will you take our memories of our lovers away? I don't think I can live without him and I think I speak for the rest of us," Minako said. Rei and Makoto nodded in agreement. "I can do that but you have to agree to absorb the magic of your planets," Serenity said. They all agreed once more. Serenity clapped her hands. It didn't seem like much but the Senshi immediately lost all memory of Yuchirro, Motoki and Shinosaki as lovers they had false memories of them as friends. They remembered everything that happened though but any mention of them being anymore then friends was left out. They even forgot the agreement they made to forget the memories.

"Now then. We have the little matter of your power to attend to," Serenity said. The Senshi nodded, dazed.

*Jupiter (5 minutes later)*

Makoto hung suspended in the very core of her planet. She felt like she had been in there for an eternity. It was hot; it felt like she was being immolated. The core of the planet was so pure; she felt everything being burned away. All the imperfections, battle scars and flaws basically just enhancing her beauty. But the power that did it was her energy, her element. She did as Serenity told her to. She cleared her mind and pictured rolling thunder, nature.everything to do with her element. Makoto screamed, an endless scream, as she felt the power being sucked into her. Her clothes had been burned away some time ago so she was completely nude.

Makoto arched her back as she felt a new sensation.a small spot of green appeared on her hand. She watched through the pain in amazement as it spread. As it spread the spot expanded throughout all of her skin in a vine pattern. Then it stopped; she was tattooed from head to toe in green ivy vines. But the vines were odd if not beautiful. Her hair freed of its bindings now came to her knees. Other that there were no changes.

The pain was increasing now. Makoto felt an alien power inside of her. "What ever Serenity hinted at has happened," she thought. Finally when she thought she could stand no more of the pain she disappeared from the heart of Jupiter and reappeared.

She had reappeared in a large void, clothed in the clothes she had thought burned off. All around her was a tapestry that she was sure was the fabric of time. It completely filled up the never-ending void with its infinitesimal stitches that represented the very course of time. Makoto sensed the part that represented Crystal Tokyo; in fact if she closed her eyes she could see what each individual strand represented.it was startling. The 'fabric of time' was endless.

Makoto stared in awe at the scene around her and felt as if the heavy responsibly of being NeoQueen of Jupiter had been lifted only to be replaced by some other yoke. "Ahhhhh!" she heard a familiar voice scream. Looking up she saw Minako's quickly descending figure. She caught her just before she fell to the floor.

Minako groaned and stood. "Makoto? Is that you? I've been through hell!" she said. Makoto guessed that they both experienced similar ordeals. To Makoto's eyes Minako had changed. The skin that was showing through her dress was covered in chainlike vines of linked hearts (all the stuff is a tattoo). Her hair now reached her ankles. The most startling revelation for Makoto was that Minako looked more charismatic.more alluring. She didn't know what to think it was as if the purity of the fire she had undoubtedly been immersed in burned away any imperfections creating a beautiful creature. "Shit!" Makoto cursed. If that was the case then there would be problems. "Please let it just be her. I don't want to change. I want to be me," she whispered.

Minako had done the same assessment to Makoto and had came out with the same conclusions. Then all of a sudden Rei dropped in and fell of Minako and Makoto causing both of them to go sprawling on the black marble floors of the 'fabric room.' "Rei watch it! That's my foot!" Minako said as they tried to disentangle themselves from each other. Rei was the first to stand. Makoto and Minako gasped as they saw her, she had also underwent a similar transformation. Her hair went to her knees and she was covered with tendrils of fire that were in a chain pattern along with the 'beauty' she was the same old hot tempered Rei Hino.

"Umm so aside from the pain do you guys feel any different?" Makoto asked. They considered it for a moment. "Yeah.there's something inside me something that is not part of my elemental energy," Rei said. Venus agreed. "That's because it isn't," said a voice. They all spun around and saw Lady; she was dressed in clothes so finely made that they could only be described as ethereal and an aura rose around her. Small Lady was a really powerful presence.

"Lady? Is that you?" Minako asked. "Yes its me. Just like you I've underwent a transformation. I am now the Goddess of Friendship and Kindness...a minor goddess but it doesn't matter." That was expected. "What I really want to know is what happened to the world outside and more importantly what happened to us!" Rei said. "Well the planets have went back to normal and all life was exterminated but it was a sacrifice we had to make If we didn't then the universe will be in much worse shape. Earth is still the same and they all lack memories of Crystal Tokyo. I know you understand, it was for the best," she said sadly.

"I understand that but what happened to us?" Makoto asked. "Well you did successfully absorb all of the powers of your element. But you've gained a new responsibility. You've assumed the roles of the protectors of the Fabric of Time. You Rei are the Guardian of Fate. Minako you are the guardian of Chance and Makoto you are the Guardian of Destiny."

'That's all fine and dandy but what exactly are we supposed to do?" Makoto asked. "Well you control peoples future and that affects the future of everybody. But you don't have to do much. We will contact you with what to do and when to do it. It might be as simple as making it rain one day so the rain brings water to a dying man who in turn might show kindness to somebody.it sounds stupid but it affects everybody. But humans control their own futures. You will only interfere when we tell you to and that will only be because it might be harmful to the time stream and only once every decade or so. It is your new duty to do this," she said.

The new guardians of Fate, Destiny and Chance nodded gravely at their new jobs because they had accepted knowing the consequences. "Cheer up," Lady said with a grin. They gave forced smiles. "Here I brought a gift for you. It's from everybody else. They'll visit but we're not really supposed to interfere with the universe so we are confined to the Realm of the Gods unless we're doing our job that by the way is top secret.I'm babbling huh? Here try these on," Lady said. She threw three dark objects at Minako, Makoto and Rei.

Makoto caught a large black hooded cloak. She also caught a mask. Upon closer inspection it was a silver clown mask incrusted with emeralds in a beautiful pattern and it had a frown on its face.

Rei's was a black clown mask encrusted with rubies and had a nonchalant expression on its face along with a black hooded cloak.

Minako caught a golden mask with a pattern of yellow gemstones and a smile on its face and she also had a black hooded cloak.

"Try it on please. It fits. You'll find that you need it. It helps you control your powers so you don't accidentally hurt somebody because of the new powers you got I mean," Small Lady said with a grin.

Makoto was the first to try it on. The large cloak covered her whole body. The only part of her that was showing was her mask. The other two girls followed suit. "So do you like it?" she asked. "Um.I guess so. I still don't see how this will help me though," Rei said. "You'll see. But if people came across you they would.stare. So now that that's all taken care of you have to go on your first assignment."

"And that is." Minako said. She was glad that the job would be fun and she didn't want anything to mess it up. "Well, just a minor thing. You have to just cause a space ship crash. It sounds funny but that space shuttle accident will cause a little boy to be a great political leader named Heero Yuy (a/n- the man Heero took his codename from)." Makoto gritted her teeth. She had enough of it already but remembering her promise to Serenity she bit her tongue. 'She said we'll rarely have to do this,' Makoto thought. Little did she know how much she would come to resent the name Heero Yuy.
