11/20/04 The Love   Report
   by Terry Moore
Whew, I'm all sweaty folks. It got hot at the Candlelight   Love Poem Night last Saturday. If you missed the final event for 2004 this   past Saturday you missed a lot. 11/20/04 is a date I will remember for a long   time.
Latriece Love was back in the house mixing   vocals with poetry like mama mixes those magic pie ingredients just right to   the taste. My mouth was wide open and my heart beating fast from her   performance. She does it every time!
She's got an awesome style to go along with her "I'm somebody"   looks and to go along with her looks she's got a superstar voice. Make sure   you catch her next event. I will!
Next up was the   always complimenting Larry Ukali Johnson-Redd. This man   knows how to swoon y'all. He had the ladies feeling really good about   themselves as he read from his book many inspiring poems. He's talking about   a sista, not a twista ya'll. I think this poet is attempting to bring   chivalry back and I'm not mad at him for doing it. You go boy!
Then it got hot. Au'Shaunti   Pierce came to the mic and set the place on fire. I think even some   of the women wanted to be men just for that short period of time while she   was ripping the mic. Smooth and easy were her lyrics. If you were there, then   you know what I'm talking about. I've never seen her better. You can check   her out on Moore Time for Poetry in December. First and Third Tuesdays on 17   at 9 p.m.
I held up the rear. I must   admit that my vibe was different for this one. Not the usual love poem poet   you've seen and heard in the past. I had a different message about general   love this time. Of course I threw out a couple of warm favorites, but for the   most part introduced some new material
that dealt with loving each other, the love I have for my daughter and loving   yourself.
Emcee Eric   "Easy" Goines did a fine job getting acts on and off the mic. The man is   a pro. The night ended 10 minutes early too. Thanks Easy for making the event   work.
It was a great night!!!   See ya in 2005 with the new and improved Candlelight Love Poem Nights.

LOVE REPORT II
by Terry Moore
Hey everybody, check this out. I had the pleasure of     opening for Raphael Saadiq on November 20, 2004. I ran     over to the Radisson Hotel from Underground Books just in time to hit the     stage. I took my crew with me. Model Joy Wilson, DJ Mookie, and my     brother poet Khiry Malik Moore. We had a ball! Oh, back to my     performance. I hit them with poems "If That Doesn't Work" and     "Old School" this time. At first the crowd wasn't feeling me. But     after about 40 seconds and lots of energy coming from me they gave me love.     I hurried and got out of the way for the real superstar entertainment. Mr.     Saadiq came on stage soon after I was done and seated. He was a big hit     y'all!
I mean this cat can entertainment for real. He started     off the night with his new songs, then called up Dwayne Wiggins     for some oldies but goodies, then went back to his new stuff. He didn't cut     his show short believe me. I actually left the building with Raphael still     on stage doing his thing. First time ever doing that. But he had given me     enough to be satisfied with. I'm not sure what time he finished, but it was     after a few encores. There was more to the event, but I just gave you the     meat. I usually stick to reporting poetry only, but I just had to tell it     on this one.
Big ups to 3Way Entertainment for     putting on one the best concerts of the year!
