ABOUT THE AUTHOR Mr. LARRY Ukali Johnson-Redd was born in 1952 in San Francisco, California. After graduating from Balboa High School in January 1970, he was accepted into the University of San Francisco, and in 1974, he earned a B.A. with a double major in Political Science and Ethnic (African-American) Studies. His quest for education continued when he proceeded to Golden Gate University, San Francisco, where he successfully earned a Masters Degree in Public Administration in 1976. During his early university days, he met a Nigerian woman who was also a student, whome he eventually married. After being disillusioned by the racism that he encountered while seeking a career in the corporate world of the U.S.A., Larry decided to seek alternatives. The couple left for Nigeria in 1977, where Mr. Larry Johnson-Redd took up a four-year teaching appointment as a lecturer of Government, in a boys High School in Benin City. While in Nigeria, Larry appeared on Nigerian Television on many occasions, and in his leisure time, worked on his novel, THE BLACK EXPATRIATE IN AFRICA, along with two volumes of poetry: HIGHER CONSCIOUSNESS and RIVERS OF BLOOD. In addition he has also written a collection of essays on the Black Liberation struggle of the United States, entitled AFROANISM, THE ROUTE TO LIBERATION IN THE EIGHTIES. Mr. LARRY Ukali Johnson-Redd has now returned to California with his wife, where he is now involved in the Publishing and marketing of his book.
