Notes:  Yonah's POV.   An alternate ending to COE.

Drip, drip, drip, drip. Water dripped down her nose, forming a chilly crystalline river down her chin. It drenched her tangled hair, making it look like mud in the gray half-light. It covered her face, and her smile shined with wetness. It was a joyful smile, triumphant and profane in the face of the sacred flood. Drip. The wind howled and screamed, as it tried to escape from it's void of transparency, to become something real and tangible. Drop. Each raindrop was as big as her fist. The ground around her softened and fell away, as the water reached her ankles. It swirled and lapped at her knees, making faces at her. It tried to scare the mysterious smile off her lips with its hungry fury.

Thunder crackled across the sky, separating it like a jigsaw puzzle. The light flashed against the tiny sea she was standing in, silver and electric. More water fell, and more lightning flashed and sang. The water reached her neck. She did not move to try and escape it. There was no escape. Droplets fell on her face, and splashed up against her nose. She closed her eyes, and smiled. The water rose, covering her lips. It thought it could win, wipe the smile off her face. She grinned beneath the sea. The water covered her head, and hid her from view. When the world was finally an ocean, she took one last deep breath, and inhaled her demise.

Above the sea, and ark floated on with out her, and one more love was lost
