Confronting the Controversy

In a House that Love Built is the first title of the Love Series.  Its subject matter has caused a buzzing in the Christian community, yet people are still being blessed by it.  I’ve had the awesome opportunity to write in the midst of my struggles, and be a blessing to others at the same time.  I thank God with exuberant joy!

Despite all that is happening around me, I can say that my driving force is far beyond what my eyes can see, or my ears can hear, or my hands can touch.  I am confident that God is with me.  And He can be with you… if He isn’t already.

The first book was based on the following scripture passages:

Psalm 127:1 (MSG – The Message Bible)

1If GOD doesn't build the house, the builders only build shacks. If GOD doesn't guard the city, the night watchman might as well nap.

1 John 4: 7-8;15,16 (NIV – New International Version)

7Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.

15If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in him and he in God. 16And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.   God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him.

Only God knows what you are going through, at this very moment in your life, and He cares about every little thing that concerns you.  Be assured that you do not have a copy of this book by luck or chance.  It was designed for a specific purpose in your life, or the life of the loved one you will share it with.  Please enjoy the words written within.

Personally, I am currently reading In a House that Love Built.  Some of the language and the graphic nature of some chapters offended me.  You may have been insulted too.  I cannot apologize, but I beseech you … however you felt, please reflect upon how much more God is hurt by the things that we do.  Then you might say, “Well, I don’t …(smoke, drink, curse, lie, etc.),” but we judge others – which the Lord says not to do (Matt. 7:1; Jn. 6:37).  We fail to pray – when we should pray without ceasing (1 Thess. 5:17).  We talk about men and women of God, and even threaten them – when we’re told not harm the people of God (Ps. 105:15).  This walk is serious.  And seriously speaking, we are all sinners saved by grace.  And whatever power God gave us to overcome the world, is that same power that will sustain us and make us all that He wants us to be (1 Jn. 4:4; 5:5).

Although I have prepared for a backlash from “church people” whose positions carry titles, this book wasn’t written for them.  My editorial staff is comprised of spirit-filled, Bible toting and believing Christians (including ministerial staff), who know that this measure is dealt to those who can eat and digest it, for such a time as this.

For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, … who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this? (Est.  4:14)

Don’t get it twisted, I refuse to make excuses.  I am pounding on the fact that we are all at differently places in our lives, but God is faithful to meet us exactly where we are.

So, with all that shared, I invite you to read and enjoy the second step on the journey.

Embrace the Journey,

JW
