Butterfly In The Making

I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh. Then they will follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. They will be my people, and I will be their God.
Ezekiel 11:19-20
Hello, Friend,

I am so glad that we are able to talk. I have needed a friend and I have a feeling that you have needed one too.

Boy, does life seem so unfair sometimes! But I think I have finally figured out a very important secret. What, you many ask? Let me explain.

In the past weeks and months I have felt like one thing after another has happened and they were all bad. I began wondering when in this life was I ever going to get a break. But I finally realized something important... I didn't need a "break" from the unfairness in life... I needed a "break" from my attitude that made me feel like all was unfair. But how do I take such a break? Here was my secret, and boy has it worked!

I tell myself every morning when I wake up... "Life is unfair, so what are YOU going to to today to change that?" Then when something happens that seems unfair... I think of a way to make it seem more fair. What do I mean? Here is an example: The other day my 3 year old daughter told me that she wanted to be Cinderella for the Harvest Festival at church. She loved the costumes at the Disney store, but I knew that I did not have $80 to purchase the whole outfit. Yet, I saw one mother after another purchasing this same outfit. HOW UNFAIR! Well, how could I make it "fair"? I MADE my daughter's costume... it only cost $35 and about 2 hours of my time... and she thinks it is wonderful!!!!!

So I know that you think life is so unfair. But the secret is in figuring out how YOU can change it and praising God for life and trust him to make it what we need it to be.. The only thing you need is a mind and a desire to make life fair.

What do you say friend? Are you with me on this? Let's you and me make a pact that we are going to make our lives full of the "unfairness" more fair. Let's you and me together show people that life can be fair and that we are going to thank and praise God in all things. As others see the peace and joy that praising can bring, perhaps they will wonder why and ask.

Your Friend,

Renee
