Hello, my friend!
I am so glad you stopped by my garden today! Ive just made up a new pot of herbal tea and have a plate of banana bread sitting here. Pull up a chair and lets visit awhile.
I am a registered nurse, although I havent worked as a nurse for about six years now. My specialty is geriatrics, and I am a real advocate for Senior Saints. I have such a love and respect for my dear sisters and brothers in their later years of life. I often think about how society looks so fondly on youth. I see how they goo and coo over newborn babies. I watch as the world applauds the young to middle-aged adults as beacons to societythe hard-working middle class. But the elderly? They are so easily forgotten. You, dear friend, are MY hero. You have paid the price. You have earned my respect.
You have experienced life to its fullest. You know what its like to be a young person struggling with hormones. You have felt the ache of hard work and labor. You have reared your children and watched them leave the nest, one by one. You know what loss feels like. You know what illness feels like. You know what it feels like to want to do something so badly, but due to physical limitations, cannot fulfill those desires. And youve had to learn to adjust to all the changes in life, and accept them. We have so much to learn from you!
I just want you to know today that I love you, dear friend. I am here for you, and I have an ear to listen to what you have to say. I hope you can come by my garden regularly so we can chat. Tell me about yourself. Tell me about your concerns. Tell me about your needs. Id love to have the opportunity to pray for you and with you. We have a loving Savior that promises to walk with us each step of the way on our journey in life. He is our dearest friend, and closer than a brother. He understands loneliness. He understands frustration and despair. He understands our fears for what lies ahead in the winter of our lives.
Come back soon! I hope we can talk again!
Love in Jesus,
Rachel
