I must admit, I honestly thought that the last chapter I wrote would be the last time I'd make mention of Michal Sivek, but apparently, fate's smiling down on both him and Milan.
With that big trade during the off-season, not just Michal, but also Ross Lupischuk, another former teammate from Milan's Raider days, along with Kris Beech, were traded for Jagr. Quite honestly, I think this trade will benefit the Pens more than it will the Capitals.
I mean, let's face it, the Pens have received three very talented players who shall come into their own in the next few years. It's obvious that their plan, when trading Jagr, was to build the team for the future.
Which is why I'll get back to Milan.
When he played in Prince Albert, he had a great deal of success, but that success only increased with the addition of Michal Sivek to the line-up. I'll go out on a limb here and say that the chemistry those two had in the WHL - which was compared by many scouts and journalists alike as being "like the chemistry between Wayne Gretzky and Jari Kurri" - will more than likely carry over into the NHL, once Michal's time is done in Wilkes-Barrie with the Baby Pens.
And when that happens, the chances are that a lot of the people who were originally nay-sayers to this trade earlier will realize what a great trade this really was.
