Biography: Okay this is going to be hard, as Kaiba is one of my very least favorite characters. I will, however, TRY to be fair and find the good things about him.
Okay, a little bit of a Kaiba history lesson ^_^. Kaiba is the oldest of two children, being A LOT older than his little brother Mokuba. When they were really little, their parents died and left them orphans (which I think is very sad, so I do have some sympathy for Kaiba). Their childhood was rough, as most are when you're growing up in an orphanage.
Many people wanted to adopt Kaiba, because he's really smart, but he wouldn't go with them unless they took Mokuba too (okay, points for that one). Finally, he beat a man with the last name Kaiba, in a game of chess. The deal had been that if Seto won, Kaiba had to adopt him and Mokuba, which is exactly what happened.
Turns out, though, that Kaiba only wanted Seto for his genious, like so many other people. The guy wasn't very nice, to my understanding (see THEORIES page), and Kaiba began to like machines a lot more than people. He even made himself a computer that can think and talk back to him ^_^. Anyway, that's the end of the Kaiba history lesson.
Because of the circumstances in which he grew up, Kaiba became a cold person to anyone but his little brother. He doesn't have any friends, doesn't trust anyone, and got so used to winning that he became a horrible loser. Mercy and such things are concepts that seem lost to him, except when using them against others. And when he does win (which is often) he humiliates the loser (such as calling Joey a puppy, something that he has continued through out the series...even after Joey died to protect Mokuba!).
Kaiba isn't all evil...at least some people don't think so. He does have a soft spot for his little brother, I'll give you that, and will do anything to protect him. But he scorns friendship when it's offered to him, and he hates Yugi because Yugi beat him once! I don't think that's very nice, and this guy can hold a grudge longer than some girls I know. Yesh!
