This one is done curtousy of Lelola, as I have yet to actually see it. But believe me, I know I'll love it when I do, because that is just the way I am.

*Ahem* THE BATTLE OF TRUE FRIENDSHIP
What happend before is the Marik kidnapped Joey and Tea, and took over both their minds, before telling Yugi that he had his best friend.
So Kaiba has Mokuba pick them up in a helicoptor, and fly them to where Joey is by tracking his signal from his dueling disc (as he did with Yugi in an earlier episode). Yugi, of course, is overjoyed to see his friend safe, and is rather suprised when Joey announces that they're going to duel each other (he hasn't realized his friend is under Marik's control yet).
Well, of course Yugi doesn't want to fight his best friend ever! That is until Marik, using Joey, informs Yugi that Tea has a pill in her mouth. If he refuses to duel Joey, the pill will be realeased and Tea will die! So, Yugi has no choice but to face him.
The hypnotized Tea chains the two friends to an anchor and the rules are explained. Both Yugi and Joey are chained to an anchor. If one of their lifepoints reaches zero, the anchor will drop and they will drown. As for the other player that wins, a box near them will open revealing a key to the chains. To make things even more interesting, they have a time limit of fifteen minutes. If the time runs out and no one wins, both of them will be pulled under.
Yami remembers that he still has Joey's red eyes, and slips it in his deck. The battle begins, but of course Yami is having a hard time. Who wouldn't? If he wins, Joey dies! If he loses, Yugi and he die! If he forefits, or lets the match go on longer than fifteen minutes, they'll both die! So he tries to get Joey to break away from Marik's spell, but he isn't having much luck.
It's then that the real Yugi asks to be the one to duel, because Joey is his best friend. Yami can't deny Yugi anything (he he), and retreats back into his puzzle, leaving Yugi to face Joey alone.
Yugi draws a card, and sees that it's Joey's Red Eyes! He plays it, hoping it will help Joey break free. It shocks him a little, but Marik is still in full control, and he attacks it. The dragon is weakened, but it still stands.
Pain fills Joey's mind as he falls to the ground holding his head. Joey attempts to fight Marik, but is failing. Yugi can only see one way to save Joey's life. It's now that Yugi walks towards his friend. The young boy removes the puzzle from his neck and bends down near Joey. He places his beloved puzzle around Joey's neck and smiles sadly. He tells Joey that if is going to die, then Joey will wear the puzzle instead of him. He then walks back to his side of the dock.
Marik regains control and orders Joey to take apart the puzzle and throw the pieces into the ocean, thus destroying Yami Yugi. Joey removes the piece of the puzzle with the eye on it, but as he is about to throw it, something happens that makes Joey freeze in his tracks. This scene is just like one that took place at the beginning of the series, in the first manga volume and in the original Yu-Gi-Oh series this happens before Yugi and Jounouchi are friends and before Yugi completes the puzzle. Jounouchi steals a piece of Yugi's puzzle and throws it into the school pool. Later, Jounouchi goes back and gets the piece and returns it to Yugi. It's after this that they become friends. Instead of throwing the piece into the ocean like Marik wants, Joey puts the piece back into the puzzle and they continue their duel.
Marik is confused about why part of the two friends are battling on their own, he he. Kaiba notices the rate at which their dueling, and the swiftly dwindling time limit, and comes to the conclusion that they're both gonna' die -_-.
I't's not until now that Yugi figures out that it's Marik that is in control of Joey -_-;. Joey plays a card that will do 1000 life points of damage, thus leaving Yugi with zero life points. Just as he attacks, the real Joey manages to come out and yells for Yugi not to die ^_^. Yugi blocks the attack, and captures it in his spirit mirror. He's happy to have the real Joey back, and tears roll down his face as he smiles at him.
Joey notices the puzzle around his neck, and their situation, and isn't entirely sure as to why thier fighting. Poor Joey. As all this is going on, the timer keeps getting closer and closer to zero! Yugi tells Joey how much his friendship has meant to him, and utters his last words of friendship, "Jounouchi, I love you." (I left his name Japanese because I bet you anything that will not be what he says in the dub >.<!!)
Yugi orders his spirit mirror to attack his with the attack Joey used last turn, and it does with a huge explosion while Joey looks on in shock! Yugi's life points reach zero, and he collapses. A box near Joey opens, revealing his key to the chains, but he doesn't care. He only wants to save Yugi! In the few precious seconds until the timer runs out, Joey orders his Red Eyes to attack him. Even though it's in Yugi's deck, it still obeys Joey and attacks (talk about heart of the cards!). Joey's life points drop to zero, opening the box that holds Yugi's key. The timer runs out and just as the anchor drops into the sea, Joey rushes over and grabs Yugi's key. The anchor continues to fall, pulling Joey and Yugi deeper and deeper into the ocean.
Joey manages to find Yugi's still unconsious form, and unchains him. Now Yugi is rising upward, while Joey is still being pulled down! Joey watches Yugi as their seperated, with him thinking it's probably forever!
Joey tries Yugi's key on his chains, but it doesn't work. His key is still up in it's little box, and he's running out of air!
Yugi reaches the surface, and Mokuba pulls him to the dock. That's when Kaiba notices Joey's key on the dock. Calmly he walks over, and drops it in the ocean O.O. Just as Joey runs out of air, he notices the key and manages to free himself. Yugi comes to, and Joey reaches the surface shortly after.
Joey and Yugi face each other. Joey holds the puzzle in his hands, apologizes to Yugi for all the trouble, and puts it back around his neck, and the two friends smile at each other. Now isn't that just Kawaii?
