Hooray, a break from the norm. Despite being quite an old series now, there still hasn't been anything released that comes close to this show, but then again after you see it you may find out why. The main character in this series is Justy Ueki Tylor, the worlds most complacent individual, his overly casual approach to everything makes him feared by the Raalgon forces (mistake his complacency for skill), and hated by his crew who just see him as an idiot. The twins Umi and Emi bring in the Kawaii element to the show and they think Tylor is "a great man". This shows humour sets it apart from the traditional anime comedy, by not being slapstick or overly silly, it is more intelligent and a large amount of the jokes are subtle, if you're not paying attention you will miss them. The animation is pretty good, it shows its age a bit, but not too much, the same goes for the soundtrack, it's fun and lighthearted, not exactly outstanding, but still quite good. Anyone looking for something a bit different could do far worse than give this a try, my mistake was putting it off for so long.
