Slayers, the long running comedy/fantasy series which refuse to die (there must be a movie out nearly every year). Although it would seem to not be to everyone's taste, but it ensnared enough fans (me included) to keep going after the TV show ended.
The TV show was a total of 3 series (Slayers, Next, and Try). Try being the worst series, but still quite amusing just a little too serious compared to the other 2. The TV shows centred around Lina, Gourry, Amelia, and Zelgadis. Also making regular appearances in Next and Try was Xellos (my fave character).
After this there were the ova's and the movies, which apart from the last movie focused on Line and her bumbling bimbo sidekick Naga (spelling). Although these were fun I didn't enjoy them as much as the TV series.
The animation was about standard in most respects, it wasn't flashy, but it did the job well enough. The voice acting was very good, but the thing that made the show was its jokes and characters, proving again that looks aren't that important.
I recommend this show to anyone with a slightly warped sense of humour.
