INTERESTS
Having both a love for literature as well as for computers, I'm constantly trying to bridge the two fields in my role as tutor/mentor at the university. I feel that the use of technology as well as different mediums in teaching is a vital one especially in our day and age where from a young age students are exposed to such technology and therefore rely on it in their daily communications. There is also much emphasis placed on visuals and technology in our society and thus as a tutor I have found it important to engage with students on a level that they can relate to. In my teaching I use visuals, audio snippets etc and engage in a kind of interactive teaching which allows students to become more involved and interested in the texts they are studying. The use of visuals etc also help students place the works they study in context and thus understand these works better.
