~ Autumn in Gifu ~

Hey everyone!

It's getting heaps cold over here and knowing that it's summer in Australia, I wish I could just hop onto a plane and fly back to Sydney for summer....I MISS THE BEACHES!

I got an email the other day from my friend Morgen who is currently in Austria doing an exchange and I just thought I'd just do a little comparison between Austria and Gifu.

"I run most days by the Danube. The trees are still dropping their autumn leaves and we only had the one bout of snow so it is really beautiful. As you run along there are bridges every 500 or so metres and in the last week the Christmas lights have gone up....It feels as if you have stepped into a fairy tale....The rathaus is all lit up and it has a Christmas countdown on it. It looks like a palace out of a Disney movie. You could not imagine how beautiful it really is."

To the surprise of many people, I too run *ah-hem* I mean jog most days, heheh ok you can stop laughing now...come'on get off the floor and back onto your seat...AnyHOO...
This is the scenery I get to run past most mornings - rice paddies, convenience stores, more rice paddies, Pachinko parlors, the "Okyot Club" (a Phillipino hostess club), some more rice paddies, more pachinko parlors, did I mention rice paddies? and then lastly along the river which on a really good day you may find a turtle swimming in it and if you are REALLY lucky you may be able to fish out a bicycle.

Morgen....I'm SO JEALOUS!!! The Danube! Is it BLUE?

On another note, I went to see "Kohyou" (the changing of the colour of leaves) last weekend with some friends. Here are some photos I took.

Till next time!

Love Jo
