Wednesday 9 April - Mr Underwood is that you?? 

One week since leaving, it seems I’ve been away for ages! Today I met my supervisor whilst at Gifu University. His name is Makoto Kondo, an associate professor in the Faculty of Regional Studies. He actually reminds me of Peter Underwood (from UTS Law Faculty) hehe Maija, Tenet, Margaret just imagine a Japanese Underwood, you will laugh. He doesn’t speak very good English coupled with my very bad Japanese…our meeting consisted of a lot of “etoo….and anooo’s…” the English equivalent being “ummm…and ahhhhh’s”. He’s actually a lecturer in constitutional law and wants me to attend his classes…hehe if he only knew how badly I did in Federal Constitutional Law at uni. He further recommended that I also enrol in jurisprudence because the lecturer was really good. Hahaha and I remember telling people back home that when I get to Japan I was going to take easy classes like flower arrangement and pottery. Boy was I mistaken, I’m actually doing something law related! It was hard enough understanding the Australian constitution let alone the Japanese one! ….this is going to be an interesting semester.
