josie's ghost is a San Diego / Los Angeles based acoustic pop/rock band who deliver all original tunes fused with harmony driven vocals that take the listener on a journey from the depths of the human experience to the sublime. Although the conception of josie's ghost is relatively new, its members have been collaborating and traveling the world together since the mid 1990s.
Founding member and composer Skyler Dennon along with vocalist Kay-Marie Johns and lyricists/vocalist Nicole Mullet are the core make-up of josie's ghost. Of recent, joining the trio on stage for a fuller sound are percussionist Elisa Kisselburg and bassist Jennifer McDonald. Together they are forging forward with solid, playful rhythms and ambient bass lines all locked together with the signature harmonies that are the heart and soul of Josie, the driving force of josie's ghost.
WHO IS JOSIE?
When asked "who is Josie?", the members look at each other and smile. With a fondness and humor that literally bring Josie to life, the story is told collectively, each member having a generous tie to the imagery.
Josie is the ghost of an 8 year old girl who lives in their rehearsal space, studio, instruments, voices, hearts, homes and music.
Currently, jo-gho is working on their studio project, a full-length independent package with an anticipated release date of Fall 2006.
There is nothing more quietly outspoken, emotionally illuminating and cleverly disguised as the power concealed in music. [sKd]
