The action takes place in Diamond River, a peaceful old Western riverfront town, circa 1890, home to the annual Poker Tournament. Maverick and the cunning Ms Annabelle are ready to do battle on the gambling table when they are interrupted by the devilish Dr. Lovejoy and his posse who roll into town to steal the $500,000 prizemoney. The bravado of Maverick and the charm of Annabelle, combined with Chief Long Thunder's mystical powers see the good guys pitched against the cunning of Dr Lovejoy's pick-pockets, thieves and potions - with the audience left believing in the magic of the west!
