On a warm October 20, 2001, near Harrisburg Pennsylvania, Stephanie Lerch, daughter of William and Lynne Lerch, and Joshua Townsend, son of Jerry and Dawn Townsend, became engaged.
After climbing to the top of White Rock Mountain, Stephanie found a small table with roses, wine, and cheese and crackers. Josh, after catching his breath from the climb, knelt in front of Stephanie and asked her to marry him.
We celebrated the engagement with our good friend Mike Whitney, who helped Josh set up for the proposal and took the pictures found on this page. Our many thanks to Mike and his wife Keli for their friendship and help in making this day a success.
We look forward to beginning our married life together in late summer, 2002, in or near Washington, DC, where Stephanie is pursuing her Doctorate in Psychology and Josh continues to work. |
