Why I support President Bush: The number one reason? Not only talking tough, but being tough on terrorism. It is my firm belief that George W. Bush will go down in the history books as one of the greatest leaders in U.S. History. And I'm sorry for all you Clinton fans, but I think he'll go down as nothing more than a footnote-- and an embarrassing one at that. I commend him for eliminating the sloppy "cruise missile policy" that was popular under the Clinton administration, and for meeting our enemy on their terms (with ground troops). How many people are free in Afghanistan and Iraq because of the decisions of President Bush? You may say that they are not free because they are occupied by Coalition forces. But they are free to express their opinions and views on International TV!! Iraqi citizens are allowed to speak against the U.S. on TV, radio and newspapers! What is freedom if not that?
Signing the Ban on Partial Birth Abortion. This disgusting "medical" procedure is a crucial step in eliminating the need for abortion and promoting personal responsibility. Unfortunately, the recently signed bill has been stalled in the 9th Circuit Court out of San Francisco, but not to worry: almost every case that comes out of the 9th and heads to the Supreme Court has been tossed out.
Signing the Healthy Forests Restoration Act. After the devastation caused by forest fires in 2000, 2002 and 2003, and the consequent mudslides, out of work timber workers, and the homeless as a result of the damage, President Bush proposed this bill which would enable fuel reduction projects on National Forest and BLM land. It is limited to lands in the wildland/urban interface, which is defined by density of homes and population density; municipal watersheds where the municipal water supplies are present; habitat for threatened and endangered species, lands where the forest's health is threatened by blowdown, and large-scale disease or insect infestation. |
