~Joshua's Boxes~

Joshua's Boxes now has an official web page to visit click HERE

These boxes have been inspired buy all the wonderful ladies who have been on Joshua's site and emailed me. Although I will never consider myself fortunate for loosing Joshua, I do appreciate that I was better prepared than so many other parents. We were able to think through so much, take 300 photos of him, and have many, many mementos and memories of our son. These boxes are in memory of Joshua, and all the other babies who are lost to heart conditions and other pregnancy complications. These boxes are to be given to the local Central Labour suites , to be given to parents who are not prepared for the sad loss of their baby, so that they too can have the opportunity to make memories of their child. In each box there is a blanket and hat, teddy bear , disposable flash camera and list of must-take photos, a card from us, a list of useful websites, and if we collect enough money I would like to add a foot and hand plaster kit and baby book for still birth and neonatal loss. There are three sizes of boxes, one for early still birth, one for later still birth and one for full term loss. It is our hope that these boxes will provide a little comfort for parents in their saddest of times. In order to do this, I am opening a bank account and will provide details of this. If you would like to donate any money we will be very grateful and a digital picture will be taken of what your money provided. Equally if there is anyone there who is good at sewing or knitting then please contact me for details of what we need made and sewed for these boxes. Over the coming months I will post up the boxes and photos of us giving them out to the various hospitals. Without Joshua, I would never have realized the value in the memories that I have, or how important to the grieving process they are. Without Joshua, I would never have realized how many ladies go through loosing a child without preparation, or these precious memories that we are fortunate enough to have. This is our gift for them, and for Joshua, and his gift to us all.

Easter 2003
We have completed the first 10 boxes to give out at Local Hospitals. We took 4 to our local Hospital where Joshua was born and they were very well received. Thank you sooo very much for all of you who have contributed to these, they will hopefully go a small way to easing others pain. Fiona
