Artists Statement

I am interested in concepts of place. The fixed nature of the map represents something that is constantly changing. This language of mapmaking underlies my work both from a microscopic and a macroscopic view.

We make assumptions about places based on our personal memories. My work is involved in investigating these assumptions. Through juxtaposition and the 'mapping' of my own imaginary places, I hope to create images that are at once visually complex and minimal.
