Facts

Josh plays a 1713 Strad called the "Gibson ex Huberman".

He was the Indiana State Junior Tennis Champion for the nine and ten year-olds age group.

People Magazine listed him among the 50 Most Beautiful People in the World in 2000.

He accepted a position as a Visiting Professor at the Royal Academy of Music from the start of the 1997-1998 season and now teaches while in London.

His favorite violin concerto to play is Brahms' Violin Concerto in D major, op.77.

The first cadenza he wrote and performed was for Brahms's Violin Concerto.

Writing cadenzas came from his desire to create something. His ultimate acheivement would be to compose a piece of music that would last.

Eventually, he may even try conducting.

Of his playing he says, "I am my harshest critic. I don't feel any pressure from critics. I'm hardest on myself."

One of his favourite venues to perform in, is London's Wigmore Hall.

When asked by Classic CD Magazine what piece of classical music inspires him, he listed two. Carlos Kleiber's Beethoven Symphony No. 7 and Jascha Heifetz's recording of Max Bruch's Scottish Fantasy.

He serves on the advisory board of the Andrew De Grado Memorial Foundation which is dedicated to the development of young pianists.
