When you get right down to it, the shortcage derailleur doesn't really, um, work with the 32 tooth cog right now. I'm hoping a little more fiddling with the B-tension screw will help. If not, it's liveable, just a little noisy...There's a Gore seal inside the parallelogram of the derailleur. Getting it on was amazingly less frustrating than I thought it would be.
