An OV or Organizations-validation Certificate is an X.509 certificate that is issued to the owner of a domain for encrypting traffic to the website. This type of certificate requires more validation than an DV certificate. For a company to obtain an OV certificate they must not only provide proof of ownership of the domain but also proof the company is a legal entity. With OV certificate's the name of the organization is listed in the certificate.
