St. Theresa's Secondary School - Magazine '73

Let's start with that old saying, 'One man's rubbish is another man's treasure chest' - well, ok, there's no such saying - but there should be.

During a clear out, I came across a magazine for St. Theresa's School, Norris Green, Liverpool, issued in 1973. Things like this do pop up in any such clear out for many parts of the wider family, as we have strong links to the area, or perhaps did have as things changed slowly over the years with everyone either moving on or passing away. Now, I have to be honest, the mag is of no real use to me as I never went to the school, but I know if it was an old school mag or old school anything from the schools that I went to, then I would at least give it a one-time read, or, if of some greater meaning, try and get a copy.

I've had a cursory look at the mag'. I am very impressed with the standard of writing and the thoughts commmtted to paper on various subjects. Ok, some pre publish polishing by Teach', perhaps, but the sentiments are real, I am sure.

If you perhaps wonder why the heavy greyscale / contrasting, then sadly, many of the pages were weakened through bad storage, and others were poor from the off. I have brought 'up' the pages as much as I could, and most have been duly salvaged. For those whose faces are as blank as blank can be on the piccys, I am sorry, but that is how the mag' itself was printed; although most faces on any group piccy are shown ok.

Finally, as this is not the usual type of content which I upload, this page / the file will not be on here long at all; maybe a month if I remember, maybe a few if I totally forget. Anyone literally wanting the mag (do people go for these I wonder? Perhaps any reunion organisers would find it useful), then first one to let me know by email, will get it in the post a few days later. Just fire off an email to [email protected], please put St Theresa's Magazine in the subject / title block, and please supply a full postal address with post code. One more thing, for the fans of the famed amateur pugilists who emanated from the school, yes, there is a boxing piccy.

Cheers - John H
