Freddie has been on the local music circuit for many years, with a brand of music pitched right smack in between the more folksy tradional sound of acoustic guitars and tales of 18 kids to a bed strangely cited on the Landing Stage - and the equally long-standing and vibrant country / easy listening style which is or sadly perhaps was, the bread and butter of the hundreds of trade, social and church clubs, the length and breadth of Merseyside. Fred's musical arrangements are modern, with strings and keyboard an integral part of his recordings, and the topics of his works are not just confined to the culture and folklore long celebrated between the welcome signs, as it were, on our regional edges of Southport and Willaston - if he likes it - he sings it.
He is currently having great success both locally, nationally and in some ways internationally, with his superb self-written song honouring the heroes of the free world who gave their lives so you and I would hopefully not have to - this is Closing of the Day; although the song itself is the same, Freddy has greatly honoured our friends across the sea by putting together a special video, entitled Closing of the Day USA, and this is in great demand from veterans' organisations across America.
Over the years, Freddie has won song writing contests ( including one on Sky TV ) and has performed tirelessly for local charities, and recorded an album especially for the Alder Hey Children's Hospital - the proceeds from this album still go to the hospital's charity to this day.
To date, Freddie's song and video - Closing of the Day USA has been downloaded over 100,000 times and is or has been on the playlist of 47 radio stations in the UK.
