Hey everyone,
 
I did not forget you all. My last e-mail was very short, but powerful. Yes, the one I mentioned that I wasn’t accepted for the School of Biblical Study (SBS). This was very disappointing because I was convinced that I had to be there. After a couple of days I sent an e-mail to the SBS-staff for an explanation question why I was not accepted? This to keep on going and to be at peace about it sooner. The mail I received back was a big surprise. They wanted to reconsider my application. So a exciting time was there again but on Saturday the 8th of July came the answer:
 
I am accepted to do the SBS 2000-2001 and I am going back on the 1st of September.
 
In this period of waiting and doubting, I got to know Him better. Through things like this you can see clearly, that He is faithful in what He is handling over to you. When I walked in that period through a deep valley I stayed close to Him (and He to me) although I didn’t understand why everything had to take so long. It was a time to be dependent on Him and to experience His love. Not only for myself but also to handle this situation strengthens the faith in His love. What I still receive constantly in my heart is the following Scipture:
The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners (Isaiah 61:1, NIV)
Now I am accepted to follow this school, I see the reward He gave me and I am very happy with it.
 
Now I shared my heart with you I want to tell you my visions for the coming year. During my period in Montana I’ve build a relationship with my small group leader and we shared our life’s. He also told me that he followed a SBS and that he saw the things more clear to him and some aspects he started to see in a different way, so that God could changed him easier. Even as a staff member in the DTS he has a lot of profit of the SBS. My desire is also to be on one of the Mercy Ships as a staff member in the DTS. After praying about doing a SBS, I applied before we left with the DTS to South –Africa. Now the time is here. I am going to do the SBS in beautiful Lakeside – Montana, USA.
 
What is a School of Biblical Study:
“The SBS is an in-depth study of the Bible, book by book, which will not only give you a greater knowledge of the word, but will also give you new perspectives of God’s eternal purposes. It will provide you with a new understanding of His manifold wisdom. His loving graces and will to instruct you in the disciplines and methods used to “rightly divide the Word.” This means for me that I have 10 till14 hours a day of study time, 9 hours per week class time; 6 hours work duty and time for intercession and fellowship.
I am looking forward to know more of Him and His Word. Now the door has been opened for me, I know that the Lord wants me to be there. For me the acceptation is a conformation. I expect that it is going to be tough for me, but I know that He will be with me and that He will be my Guide. The staff spends time of prayer over the applications for each individual applicant, seeking God for whether they should or should not accept that person. Even if it is hard they have to turn down applicants, like other fellow DTS-ers of mine. Therefore I find it a blessing and a privilege that He sends me to this school. I will also meet some other friends from the DTS and even from the Anastasis. I am really looking forward to see them again.
 
But I also need your support.
At first I want to ask you to support me with prayer. As you could read in the uphold story, it is a very intense study. It is about 20 years ago that I really studied hard on my high school. I’ve heard that people want to leave because they get frustrated sometimes. Pray that my way will grow in Him and a blessing over my life and that we will be a perfect example for all the others to integrate with the difference in cultures (one body in Him).
Pray also for me when you think of me. I know you also did when I was in the DTS – USA and South Africa and I appreciate that very much.
 
At second I will not have all the money to follow the SBS. I know I have to do the SBS in Montana to learn the English language as well because I strongly believe that my calling is an international calling. The gap I have is like the foot of a mountain. But I have faith because I know God wants me to be there and that He will provide. He IS the Provider and I believe when I obey Him He will make a way. It is not my purpose to place any pressure on you, as it is not your responsibility to support me. Although if you feel that God is leading you to support me, that would be a huge encouragement to me. I also depend on the value of the dollar in the time I am following the SBS. I am working hard to save money and I see that God indeed provide me a lot already.
I also thank you for all your supporting I already received from you all. It wasn’t unnoticed. I ask God’s blessing for you all and I thank you for showing your love to me in every kind of way. I also hope to hear or see you in the future.
