Next thing I knew we all were in a car going to Jody's house..

There was a nice dry, warm shed for the kittens and I....sure beats outside or the basement of the restaurant....Lots of food and water too...

The kittens and I couldn't be in the house until we were tested for those kitty diseases that are contagious...like Feline Leukemia and that nasty Feline Aids type sickness.

In a few days Jody packed the kittens and I up and took us somewhere in the car...It was too soon to take the kittens away from me and getting too hot to stay in the shed....Summer's here!! ( I had also heard Jody's mom Gigi say "No more animals!")

Well I was very scared and hurt that Jody was taking me away from her...she must have been sad too because she cried all the way to the shelter and kept saying " I'm soo sorry Mittens--Gigi says no!!....please don't give up hope though because i am going to try very very hard to get Gigi to change her mind!!.

A long time (2 months) went by.... all my sweet kittens found new homes and I was all alone and kind of sad and lonely...The people here were very nice and took good care of me, I just missed Jody an awful lot...

Sometimes I even thought I could "hear her talking to me"....(Jody tells me now that she used to look out the windows at work--like she did before I was caught---and say "Don't give up hope Mittens I am trying to make it so you can come live with us....I miss you sweetie!")...I could feel her love even at the shelter!!

One day (July 22, 2000), I was just lying in my cage relaxing and dreaming of a real home, and the next thing I knew a worker lady was putting me in a strange cat carrier ( it smelled kind of familiar though) and took me out front to the office part of the shelter.

I couldn't believe what I saw!! Jody was kneeling in front of the carrier saying "Hi Mittens....I came back for you!!! See, I told you I would come back...You were meant to be mine!!

So now Mom and I are together again..(she named me Mittens because she found me in the wintertime and thought that I had four white feet--actually I have kneesocks in the back and am a grey tuxedo kitty)...Mom didn't know this until later as she never got a really good look at me outside--I was always running and hiding!

I am the happiest cat in the world...Shadow and Taffy aren't my good pals yet...although we all try very hard to play nice for Mom's sake...Mom hopes in the future that we will all be good friends...I get along okay with Tiki (the dog) ...she likes cats and somtimes will play with us!

I want to thank Mom for trying so hard to convince Gigi that I belonged with them...and I want to thank Gigi for "giving in" and letting me stay.
