Maybe a year later man I was really down on myself cause why shold I not get to listen to one of the greatest bands of all time just cause Lars Ulrich is a douche. And a douche is exactly what he is. Go watch Some Kind of Monster and you'll know what I am talking about.
But none of that takes away from the music and I am not just talking the stuff that was on radio, or on MTV. I am talking the entire catalog. Man I constantly find myself gong back to Justice or to Ride the Lighting and finding some killer tune that just rocks man straight up.
Today I own every studio release save for Garage Days Rerevisited and that is only cause I cannot seem to find it. Even Load and reload. I know I know all you hardcore metal guys will say hey they sold out that was alternative. Well let's be clear here, your FUCKING WRONG. One listen to those songs and they all have the classic Metallica styling, they are fast, the change tempos. The lyrics are twisted and dark. Ok they are just Metallica songs in radio friendly versions. Instead of 9 minutes they are under 4 for radio play. And for those of you who will say what about the black album well it sold more then 10 million copies so I don't have to say shit. The sales speak for themselves.
Metallica is the biggest metal act in the world and probably will continue to be. Theyhave a new album in the works and it will be interseting to see where the new bass player takes their music. I am a Metallica fan, I like heavy stuff and this is the king of heavy.
