| ("War Machine" starts and we go through the opening video with the following clips: Spike Dudley hitting the Acid Drop on D-Lo Brown, Too Cold Scorpio nailing the 450 on Fit Finlay, Jeff Hardy blasting New Jack over the head with a guitar, The Extremists standing on opposite turnbuckles, Too Cool brawlin it out with the Dragon Kid and Juventud Guerrera, Ken Shamrock putting Frank Shamrock in the Ankle Lock Submission, Saturn dropping Chris Benoit with the Death Valley Driver, Mike Awesome executing the Awesome Bomb on The Giant, Benoit putting Saturn in the Crippler Crossface, Bigelow and Lee executing their finishers from the top rope through tables onto the Extremists, Robert Thompson dropping Jyushin Lyger with the Double Arm DDT, Perry Saturn driving Sid into the mat with a Death Valley Driver, Dean Malenko putting the Texas Cloverleaf on Benoit, and then Malenko holding the World Title over his head.) No opening interview for Heat. Instead we pan over the crowd for a short while and go straight to the ring. ------------------------------------------------- Too Cool vs The Head Hunters ------------------------------------------------- The Head Hunters used to be a top contender for the tag titles, but for the past two months or so have been suck on Saturday Night Heat as they have tried to regain their position in the WWA. Too Cool, on the other hand, apparently likes it here and continues to battle it out with the Dragon Kid and his gang on a non-stop basis. In fact, Too Cool and a mystery partner will face the Dragon Kid, Juventud, and Ultimo Dragon at Contact. The Head Hunters aren't on the card. The Head Hunters threw their weight around like only they know how in the opening minutes. Too Cool are used to fighting fellow lightweights and seemed confused for awhile on what to do with these two monsters. Christopher was the one to be stuck in the ring with them for most of the time and things weren't looking good. He was being thrown around like a ragdoll and after a powerslam by one of the Head Hunters it looked like the match would shortly be over, but when the Head Hunter went for the cover it was broken up by Taylor. This brought in the other Head Hunter who went to clothesline Taylor, but Taylor ducked under and as the HH turned around Taylor went up into the air and nailed him with a dropkick. We're call him Head Hunter #2 fell through the ropes and to the outside. This time when Taylor turned around, though, he was lifted high in the air with a gorilla press by Head Hunter #1. Christopher was back up at about this time, however, and he dropkicked the knee right out from under HH#1. HH#1 fell backwards and Taylor landed on top of him. The ref dropped down to make the count, but HH#1 kicked out in two. HH#2 got back in the ring and took back control as both Head Hunters worked over Too Cool once more until HH#1 whipped Christopher into the turnbuckles and charged in, but Christopher saw him coming and backdropped him over the top rope and to the outside! HH#2 pushed Taylor out of the way and charged in at Christopher, but Christopher came out of the corner with a superkick that connected perfectly with HH#2. HH#2 took a step back, turned around, and staggered right into a small package by Taylor! The ref was ready this time and made the quick three count. Too Cool defeated The Head Hunters when S. Taylor pinned Head Hunter #2 after a small package in 0:07:48. Rating: * 1/4 Too Cool didn't waste any time in gloating about their victory as they hauled ass out of the ring just as HH#1 was entering the ring. Too Cool ran to the back with their arms in the air as the crowd cheered them on. After a batch of commercials we went to the back where Robert Thompson is standing with his TV Title around his shoulder. ROBERT THOMPSON: This is the biggest load of crap I have ever seen. How quickly do we forget Drawing of the Four? I beat Jyushin "Thunder" Lyger when I drove his head through a table. I pinned him and I retained this. But when the people were announced who would be up for a shot against Malenko...where was my name? Where was Robert Thompson? I was left in the shadows as usual. Lyger somehow pulled it off where he lost the big match, but got elevated because of it. Lyger, I beat you and we both know that the winner should be the one to move on. But for some reason that didn't happen this time and I'd like to know why. Why are you getting elevated? Why am I being left in the dust? It just doesn't make any sense to me. I know that we know eachother better then any two people in this fed. We've fought more often. We've kicked eachother's asses. We both know what eachother can do. You are going to put up a helluva fight against Malenko. Will you win? Maybe I'm the only one that could answer to that question. But the bottom line is, you stole my spot. And I guess I just don't understand it. Tonight I am defending my TV Title against Sid Vicious. Sid, I don't know what you were thinking when you requested this match, but haven't you been paying attention? I am a man on a mission to get some damn respect around this federation, and you aren't going to be the one to derail this train. Trust me on that. I could really care less if you are looking for revenge from when Malenko dumped you. That means little to nothing to me. All that matters is that I go out there, you give me all you got, I take it and dish out more and walk away with this. That's all that matters. I'll be seeing you out there later tonight. ------------------------------------------- Steve Strong vs Super Nova ------------------------------------------- Steve Strong was made a fool on Terror this week when Corino nearly killed the man with a chair. He knew that and took it out on Nova. We've never seen Strong with such emotion as he started the match off by bursting out of the corner with a clothesline that nearly decapacitated Nova. Nova landed hard on the mat, and from there it was all Strong. Strong beat down the smaller man with pure power moves. A running powerslam nearly put Nova away, and a power bomb would have finished him had Strong gone for the cover. When Strong went to pick Nova up, Nova was ready as he brought his arm up in a low blow. Strong staggered around the ring in pain and Nova took him down with a dropkick. This was Nova's time for offense and he knew it wouldn't last long. He jumped onto the top turnbuckle and flew off with a missile dropkick which connected! Nova made the cover, but Strong somehow kicked out in two. Nova picked Strong back up and whipped him into the ropes. When Strong came back Nova punched him in the midsection, bounced off the ropes, and hit a swinging neckbreaker. A cover only got two again. Nova was beginning to look a little frustrated as he picked Strong back up, but this time Strong pushed Nova away. Nova walked back towards Strong, but Strong blasted him with a clothesline. Nova didn't fall to the mat, but staggered back into the corner. Strong grabbed ahold of Nova and whipped him into the opposite turnbuckle. Nova hit it hard and staggered out as Strong charged and nailed Nova with another vicious clothesline. Nova was out of it after that, but Strong wasn't done as he lifted Nova back up and hit a Northern Lights Bomb to finish things off. Steve Strong pinned Super Nova with the Northern Lights Bomb in 0:06:30. Rating: 1/4* After the match was over Strong reached between the ropes and was given a microphone. He walked to the center of the ring and brought the mic to his lips. STEVE STRONG: Corino! You asshole! You turned your back on me and you will pay dearly. You tried to end my career on Monday, but you didn't get the job done. Now it's my turn. Let's see if you are able to walk after I get done with you. I'll be seeing you around, Corino, trust me on that. And with that Strong made his exit from the ring and walked to the back. Looks like this tag team has turned ugly and fast. We went to another batch of commercials after that brief interview, but when we came back we were with Sid Vicious in his locker room. Peter Bernstein was holding the mic. PETER BERNSTEIN: I am here with Sid Vicious, the man that will try and take the TV Title away from Robert Thompson later on tonight. Sid, Robert has been on a roll these past couple of months and has done whatever it takes to get the win. How do you plan on accomplishing something that everybody else has failed? SID VICIOUS: Are you for real? Peter, I am not exactly right in the head. You know that? Right now I am fine, but all of a sudden I might have the sudden urge to push you down and start biting you. Blood pouring down my face, your face a mangled mess. Yes, that does sound enticing. (Peter Bernstein is now looking a little bit more scared as he hands the mic over to his other hand and starts fidgeting.) But I am holding it back. I do have that urge, but I am holding it back. I am holding it back for Robert Thompson. Thompson is friends with Dean Malenko, and it was Malenko that threw me out of his little clique. It's payback time for me. Malenko must have lost it when he decided I wasn't valuable anymore. I'll prove him wrong. I'll prove everybody wrong. I'll show everybody in this arena tonight that I am the master and the ruler of the world and after this match....the TV Champion. Thompson is in for a night he will never regret...wait, yes he will...will he? Regret? Yes! Well, maybe...No! I don't know!!! (Sid starts laughing uncontrollably as Peter Bernstein runs through the open door and gets the hell out of there. Sid continus to laugh as he falls to his knees and the camera zooms in. All of a sudden Sid's face snaps back towards the camera and he isn't laughing anymore.) SID VICIOUS: No, you will not regret tonight. It's not regret...It's that you won't remember tonight. Because I plan to completely... and utterly... destroy you. We head back to the ring as the Extremists are in the ring as are their opponents, Juventud Guerrera and the Lightweight Champ, Dragon Kid. The Extremists sure have dropped down in the rankings since losing the #1 contendership to D'Lo Brown and Mike Quackenbush, but tonight they have a chance of picking up some of that momentum they lost along the way. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Extremists vs Dragon Kid and Juvy Guerrera -------------------------------------------------------------------------- This was going to be aerial warfare at it's finest. Both teams knew that going in and prepared well for it. The Extremists did have the size advantage and used it to the best of their ability as they remained in control for the first part of the match. The crowd quickly made the Extremists the fan favorites as they despise the Dragon Kid and his partners. Devon Storm, with the fans rooting him on, was able to keep Juvy Guerrera in the ring for the most part as they slowly wore him down. The Dragon Kid waited patiently on the ring apron until he could take no more and springboarded himself onto the top turnbuckle and flew off with a missile dropkick onto Ace Darling halfway across the ring. This sent Devon Storm back into the ring and we had a huge four man brawl on our hands. Juvy was pretty worn out, but didn't let that stop him from exiting the ring and getting on the ring apron. He waited as the Dragon Kid fought off both Extremists. The Kid was able to stick a thumb in the eye of Darling causing Ace to turn around and at that time Juvy jumped onto the top rope and onto Darling's shoulders and brought him down with a huracanrana. Juvy hooked the legs, but Storm pushed Kid away and broke the count up. Now it was Juvy and the Kid's turn to dominate as the ref forced Storm out of the ring and the Kid took over on Darling. Things were starting to look really well for the Lightweight Champ until Darling was able to catch him while he was still on the top turnbuckle. He punched him in the midsection and the Kid crotched himself on the top turnbuckle. Darling climbed up there with him and they both went sailing off with a superplex. The ref started his count, but at seven both men were up to their knees and crawling towards their partners. The Dragon Kid made it to his first, but seconds later Darling made the hot tag. Juvy ran full steam at Storm, but Storm backdropped him extremely high! The Kid was back up and ran at Storm, but was caught in a sleeper! No! Storm hits the Sleeper Slam! Darling was back in the ring by this time and picked Juvy up, but Juvy dropkicked the knee right out from under Ace. Juvy quickly picked Darling back up and apparently went for the Juvy Driver, but Ace slid down Juvy's back, hooked his arms around Juvy's midsection...GERMAN SUPLEX! The ref dropped down and made the ... 1... 2... 3!!! Ace Darling and Devon Storm defeated Juventud Guerrera and Dragon Kid when Darling pinned J. Guerrera with the German Suplex in 0:10:39. Rating: *** 1/2 The Extremists hopped to their feet once the three count was delivered and gave eachother a high five before springboarding themselves to the outside and walking to the back. Meanwhile, the team of the Dragon Kid and Juvy slowly got to their not realizing what in the hell just happened. As soon as the ring was cleared out came Colin Ryder and behind him a big hat full of pieces of paper. Yes, it's that time...it's LUCK OF THE DRAW TIME! ---------------------------------------- Luck of the Draw (G!L!W!) ---------------------------------------- Colin Ryder reached into the hat and pulled out the first name which was revealed to be ... ACE DARLING! Bad news for him. He just went through a hard match and to have to come out here and fight again...well, it won't be pretty. Colin reached back into the hat and as the crowd was praying that it wouldn't be one of the Head Bangers Colin pulled the piece of paper out and read it aloud...THE DRAGON KID! Oh boy! These two just fought in tag team action! They are both worn out, but that doesn't matter with the luck of the draw. As soon as they were both in the ring the bell was rung and they went right to it. Even though the Dragon Kid is the Lightweight Champ, his title is not on the line as they never are in Luck of the Draws. Both men were so winded from their earlier match that they decided to stay away from the air and do a little bit of regular wrestling. Once again Darling used his size to keep the smaller Dragon Kid down. It's not very often that Darling's size is an advantage, but this was one of them. The Dragon Kid has more experience here in the WWA as a singles wrestler then Ace Darling, though, and was able to fight back. It ended up being a very good back and forth match, but Darling made a huge mistake as he went for his German Suplex too early, and Dragon Kid was able to bring his foot backwards and connected with Darling's groin. Dragon Kid followed that up with a DDT. As Darling clutched at the top of his head, the Dragon Kid jumped onto the top turnbuckle and waited there. Darling slowly got to his feet only to barely catch a glimpse of the Kid jumping off of the turnbuckles. By that time it was too late as the Kid was able to nail the Dragon Rana and pick up the win. Dragon Kid pinned Ace Darling with the Dragon Rana in 0:09:02. Rating: * 1/2 The ref rolled Ace Darling to the outside and helped him to the back as the Dragon Kid motioned towards the back for some reason. Out ran the Ultimo Dragon and Juventud and they were carrying something in their hands. They both slid into the ring and talked to the Dragon Kid for a second. Juvy hands something over to the Dragon Kid and they all turn to face the crowd ... and put on sunglasses!?!?! The hell? And the lights dim...And that's Too Cool's music!!! The Dragon Kid, the Ultimo Dragon, and Juventud Guerrera are dancing!!! They are doing Too Cool's dance! The crowd is popping huge as they bust a move. And Juvy is doing the Worm!!! And Too Cool can't take anymore as they are hauling ass down the aisle. All three men in the ring see them and quickly stop dancing and prepare as Christopher and Taylor slide into the ring. A five man brawl erupts, but with Juvy and the Kid still tired from earlier it's Too Cool getting the upper hand. They double clothesline the Ultimo Dragon out of the ring, Christopher backdrops the Dragon Kid over and Taylor simply throws Guerrera through the ropes. Too Cool pick up the sunglasses that they dropped and throw them out into the crowd. The Dragon Kid and his group walk to the back, but keep pointing at Too Cool and uttering curses at them. We goto another batch of commercials and when we come back it's finally time for our big main event. Sid Vicious came out first and surprisingly received a big face pop. He is picking up some of those fans he lost when he joined Malenko. When Robert Thompson came out, however, he receved a huge negative reaction. Thompson didn't seem to notice. He had the TV Title on his shoulder and his eyes never left Sid. Thompson slowly slid into the ring and handed his belt over to the ref. The ref went to show Sid the belt, but when he did Sid grabbed the belt! The ref tries to pull it back...KICK TO THE MIDSECTION!!! Sid grabs the ref...POWERBOMB! And now Sid has full posession of the belt! He raises it above his head and receives a monstrous pop! But Thompson attacks from behind with a knee to his kidneys and starts hammering away. Another ref slides into the ring and the match is on. ------------------------------------------------------- TV Title on the line! Robert Thompson(c) vs Sid Vicious ------------------------------------------------------- Thompson continud to pound on Sid for a minute or two, but eventually Sid grew upset and powered his way out of Thompson's grasp. Thompson staggered back, but went right back towards Sid, but Sid grabbed him around the neck!!! UP! DOWN! CHOKESLAM! Two minutes in and Thompson had already been dropped with the Chokeslam!!! Luckily for Thompson, Sid didn't go for the cover. Instead he picked him up, picked him up further into a Gorilla Press and threw him to the outside and into the guardrail. Thompson hit hard and wasn't moving. That didn't bother Sid any as he stepped over the top rope, picked Thompson up, and threw him into the table! Thompson was hurt it appeared and hurt badly. Sid rammed Thompson's face into the table a couple of times before sliding him back into the ring. Sid continued to dominate in the ring with his power hitting an assortment of moves that kept Thompson down. Sid even tried a few covers, but Thompson somehow kept kicking out at two. Sid doesn't like to waste time, however, as after the third time Thompson kicked out in two Sid propped Thompson up between his legs. He was going for the Powerbomb and everybody in the arena knew it. The crowd jumped to their feet as Thompson was lifted into the air. Thompson was somehow still enough into it that he was able to slide down Sid's back. Sid turned around and Thompson dropped to his knees and punched him full blast in the groin. Sid fell to his knees as Thompson started firing away with fist after fist at his head. When that didn't drop the bigger man he started linking his hands together and firing away at Sid, but still the bigger man wouldn't fall backwards. Finally Thompson had enough and picked Sid up and whipped him into the ropes. When Sid came back Thompson hit a back elbow right into his stomach causing all the wind to escape in Sid's lungs. As Sid bent over, gasping for air, Thompson bounced off the other ropes, grabbed Sid's head, and hit a spinning neckbreaker. Sid went down this time and Thompson made the cover, but Sid kicked out in one with a huge kickout that sent Thompson flying into the air. Thompson and Sid both back to their feet and Thompson charged Sid, but Sid got his foot up and connected perfectly with Thompson's jaw. Thompson's body hit the mat and laid there. Sid bounced off the ropes and went for the Big Leg Drop, but Thompson was able to roll out of the way. Sid apparently hurt his leg with that move, however, as he was slow to get to his feet. As he did Thompson chop blocked him from behind. Sid fell to one knee and Thompson went to work as he started hammering away at his injured leg. This went on for a few minutes with Thompson focusing all of his attention on that one leg. He even hooked on a spinning toe hold onto that leg for some added pain. After that Thompson tried to get Sid to his feet, but Sid punched Thompson a couple of times in the midsection to break up Thompson's momentum. Sid picked him up as he got to his feet in a bearhug it appeared, but instead dropped him neck first on the top rope. Thompson appeared to be done for as Sid picked Thompson up off of the ground and set him up once again for the Powerbomb. He got him up this time, but before he could send him crashing to the mat his leg gave out and he fell backwards with Thompson on top. As soon as Thompson was on the mat he quickly got up, pulled Sid to his feet by the hair, and dropped him with the Double Arm DDT. Thompson didn't even waste any time going for the cover there. He picked Sid back up and hit another! He then went for the cover. 1... 2... 3!!! Robert Thompson pinned Sid Vicious with the Double Arm DDT in 0:13:53. Rating: -* 1/2 (Robert Thompson retained the WWA Television Title.) Thompson got to his feet after the three count was delivered and got his hand raised by the ref, but he tore it away. He grabbed his belt and climbed up onto the second turnbuckle and raised it above his head. He was given the mic as he continud to stand on the second turnbuckle. ROBERT THOMPSON: You all may not like it, but I am the best damn TV Champ this fed has ever seen. And after Contact, after I beat Scorpio's stupid ass, I will be the Intercontinental Champion as well. And after that, I want my World Title shot. I better get it. Thompson drops the mic to the floor outside and exits the ring as we fade to black. |
