| ("War Machine" starts and we go through the opening video with the following clips: Spike Dudley hitting the Acid Drop on D-Lo Brown, Perry Saturn driving Sid Vicious into the mat with his Death Valley Driver, Jeff Hardy blasting New Jack over the head with a guitar, The Extremists standing on opposite turnbuckles, Too Cool brawlin it out with the Dragon Kid and Juventud Guerrera, Ken Shamrock putting Frank Shamrock in the Ankle Lock Submission, Saturn dropping Chris Benoit with the Death Valley Driver, Mike Awesome executing the Awesome Bomb on The Giant, Benoit putting Saturn in the Crippler Crossface, Bigelow and Lee executing their finishers from the top rope through tables onto the Extremists, Robert Thompson dropping Jyushin Lyger with the Double Arm DDT, Too Cold Scorpio bringing Perry Saturn over in a German Suplex , Dean Malenko putting the Texas Cloverleaf on Benoit, and then Malenko holding the World Title over his head.) We have been informed that tonight's show is almost pure matches. Hardly any interviews, just old fashioned matches. Unfortunately, our first match would be: --------------------------------------- Sid Vicious vs Spike Dudley --------------------------------------- We haven't seen much of Sid since he was thrown out of Dean Malenko's group. Things just didn't go his way and after losing to Perry Saturn he has been thrown into Saturday Night Heat hell. His opponent? Spike Dudley. His leg was almost destroyed by the Shamrock brothers just a week and a half ago, but he has already bounced back from it and is ready to continue to improve as a wrestler. He has done okay so far, has had his ups and downs. Right now could be considered a down, but who knows when he will be able to climb up the ladder once again? The match was a normal match that you would expect out of these two. Sid used his overwhelming power to dominate Little Spike Dudley. A couple Gorilla Presses were used early on, and Sid even teased throwing Spike out into the crowd to do some crowd surfing, but luckily that didn't happen. Spike tried numerous times to goto the air, but they just never worked. A crossbody press was caught and Sid drove him into the mat with a powerslam. A missile dropkick was ducked. Spike just didn't have anything go his way. After several minutes of this Sid decided to finally end this thing as he brought Spike into position for the Power Bomb, but Spike brought his arm up, EL FAUL!!! Sid bent over in pain, and you know what comes next...ACID DROP!!! Spike rolled over and hooked the leg! 1... 2... 3!!! Spike Dudley wins! Spike Dudley pinned Sid Vicious with the Acid Drop in 0:03:57. Rating: -** Who would of thought? Spike Dudley with a huge victory over Sid Vicious! Spike got right to his feet and received a huge cheer from the crowd. He didn't stick around until Sid woke up, however, as he jumped over the top rope, landed on the floor, and ran to the back. Our next match would be for the WWA Lightweight Title as the Dragon Kid defends against one of the two men he defended against at Drawing of the Four. -------------------------------------------------- Dragon Kid(c) vs Brian Christopher Lightweight Title on the line! -------------------------------------------------- The Dragon Kid had the biggest chance of his life when he fought Dean Malenko about two weeks ago on Monday Night Terror for the World Title. He was just seconds away from winning the title on numerous occasions. Tonight he goes back to what made him famous, the Lightweight Title. The Ultimo Dragon was not with him tonight as he was preparing for his match later on with Too Cold Scorpio, but Juventud was. Brian Christopher has improved tons by joining back up with Scott Taylor to form Too Cool. Unfortunately for them, they can't seem to get past Heat and onto Terror. Here would be a great shot for Christopher. Scott Taylor was with him. These two groups, the Dragons, and Too Cool have been in the midst of a feud for quite some time now. There has been a six man tag signed for Contact between the teams, but more on that later. The Dragon Kid and Brian Christopher started the match off fast, and it looked to be a pretty good one, but the blown spots came and things soon came unraveled. Christopher used his power to dominate the smaller Dragon Kid, and was just nanoseconds away from winning the title after nailing the Kid with a piledriver, but somehow the Kid got out in two. The Kid used his speed to fight back, and Christopher seemed to be caught off guard by just how good the Kid was. Several variations of the frankensteiner had Christopher reeling and a missile dropkick followed, but Christopher moved out of the way. When the Kid got back up he walked right into a superkick that almost knocked his head off. Christopher made the cover and hooked the leg! 1... 2... Juvy put the Kid's foot on the bottom rope!!! We would of seen a new champion! Scott Taylor immediately ran after Juvy which caused a giant chase which seemed to distract both Christopher and the referee. This didn't distract the Dragon Kid, however, as he climbed up the turnbuckles and waited there until Christopher turned around, and once he did, DRAGON RANA! Dragon Kid pinned Brian Christopher with the Dragon Rana in 0:10:32. Rating: * 1/4 (Dragon Kid retained the WWA Lightweight Title.) The Dragon Kid reatins his title! Juvy slid into the ring, but Taylor was right behind him. Juvy rolled out of the ring on the other side and ran to the back and the Kid wasn't far behind with his title. Taylor, meanwhile, helped his partner up. After making sure there was no damage they brought out the sunglasses and it was dance time. After a batch of commercials it was time for a tag match. -------------------------------------------------------- The Headbangers vs The Head Hunters -------------------------------------------------------- Neither team has much important things going on. They both have been practically put into jobber-hood as they just can't seem to get that big win to elevate them. Whoever won tonight would have the honor of being NOT the worst tag team in the WWA. Not much to talk about here either. The Head Hunters threw their weight around as normal. The Headbangers tried to fight back with what little offense they have, but it didn't work out so well. The Head Hunters did impress the crowd somewhat with their power and agility for big men. A power bomb from HH#2 was enough to put Thrasher down for the three count. The Head Hunters defeated The Headbangers when Head Hunter #2 pinned Thrasher after a power bomb in 0:13:37. Rating: 1/4* We next went to WWA studios where Peter Bernstein was sitting behind a desk. Several TV monitors were behind him. PETER BERNSTEIN: Hello, everybody, I am Peter Bernstein with your Contact pay-per-view report. We already know that the winner of Monday's Hell in a Cell match between Mike Awesome and Jyushin Lyger will face Dean Malenko for the World Title. This will be a match that will determine the future of the company. Most of these other matches have only just been recently signed so you are hearing it here first. Robert Thompson will defend his Television Title against Intercontinental Champion, Too Cold Scorpio. Only the TV Title will be defended. To even this up there are talks of a match between the two with the Intercontinental Title on the line, but that isn't definite. "Prime Time" Brian Lee and Bam Bam Bigelow will defend the tag team titles against Mike Quackenbush and D'Lo Brown. They will be accompanied by Eric Embry as has been normal lately. The Dragon Kid, the Ultimo Dragon, and Juventud Guerrera will face off against Brian Christopher, Scott Taylor, and a mystery partner that hasn't yet been announced. Billy Kidman will do battle with Matt Hardy as he tries to exact revenge for the injured Jeff Hardy. The Eliminators will face the Gangstas in a rematch of Drawing of the Four. And Chris Benoit will face Ken Shamrock, these two men have a score to settle and hopefully they will finally be able to at Contact. That is all right now, but more people will be in action and their matches will be announced as we get closer to the pay-per view. That's all from the WWA studios, this is Peter Bernstein. We go right back to the ring, just in time for our random draw match. -------------------------------------- Luck of the Draw (G!L!W!) -------------------------------------- The first participant announced was none other than Super Nova. At least the match would probably be good. Just please don't announce a Headbanger as his opponent...please!!! We were lucky tonight as his opponent would be Billy Kidman. This would be at least a good match. Kidman and Nova did do what they are supposed to do, and that's have a good match. Both men showed off what they are good at as Kidman did quite a few aerial moves while Nova stuck to his inventive offense. Nova came close to getting the major upset after hitting the Kryptonite Krunch, but Kidman somehow kicked out in two to save him from defeat. Nova kept it up, but soon fell to Kidman's superior offense and after Kidman slammed his face into the mat he went up top and hit his Shooting Star Press to get the victory. Billy Kidman pinned Super Nova with the Shooting Star Press in 0:13:27. Rating: *** 1/4 Once that was over we went right into our main event. ------------------------------------------------------ Too Cold Scorpio(c) vs Ultimo Dragon Intercontinental Title on the line! ------------------------------------------------------ Too Cold Scorpio is coming off of a huge Terror where he won the Intercontinental Title against Perry Saturn. It is his first WWA title. As announced earlier, he has a match now at Contact against Robert Thompson. But that match may not take place if the Ultimo Dragon wins the title here. The Ultimo Dragon has only been here in the WWA since Drawing of the Four, but has been very impressive in his stint here. Tonight is his big oppurtunity to prove himself as a big challenge here in the WWA. Too Cold Scorpio tried to get the quick advantage as he went for a roundhouse kick, but Ultimo ducked under it and went to work. Ultimo delivered several very stiff kicks to Scorpio's stomach and followed it up with one to Too Cold's head that took him down. Scorpio bounced right back up, but waas met with a dropkick. Scorpio staggered back, bounced off the ropes, and came charging right back at Ultimo, but the Dragon was ready as he jumped into the air, wrapped his legs acround Scorpio's head, and brought him down with a Frankensteiner. A cover only got two. Maybe Scorpio was doing too much partying this whole week? From there things just kept getting worse for Scorpio as Ultimo worked him over with more of his lethal kicks that had Scorpio not knowing up from down. Finally Scorpio saw an oppurtunity as Ultimo tried to go for the Dragon Sleeper too early, and Scorpio brought his foot back, connecting with Ultimo's groin. The Dragon bent over in pain and Scorpio brought him down with a Rocker Dropper. Now it was Scorpio's turn to take control as he went to the air with a couple dropkicks and a flying legdrop that connected perfectly, but only got a two. Seconds later Scorpio went back to the air and hit his Tumbleweed, but that only got a two as well. Scorpio went to the well once too often as he tried his 450, but Ultimo moved out of the way and Scorpio hit nothing but mat. Ultimo hit several more of his kicks to Scorpio's ribs and then went for another Frankensteiner, but Scorpio caught him and drove him into the mat with a power bomb, held the legs and cradled them over... 1... 2... 3!!! Too Cold Scorpio pinned Ultimo Dragon after a power bomb in 0:06:21. Rating: ** 3/4 (Too Cold Scorpio retained the WWA Intercontinental Title.) Scorpio grabbed his title and headed to the back as the Kid and Juvy ran down to check on their mentor. Monday Night Terror, Jyushin Lyger versus Mike Awesome, hell in the cell, is there anything else that can be said? |
