| ("War Machine" by Kiss is heard as we see The Gladiator nailing an Awesome Bomb on Droz, Chris Benoit hitting a flying headbutt onto Too Cold Scorpio, The Giant bringing Jyushin Lyger up and Choke Slamming him into the mat, Spike Dudley pounding his chest while standing on top of a fallen Droz, Merlin with half his body in the ring and the other half trying to get out of a trap door, Ken Shamrock and Chris Benoit face to face, The Extremists holding the gold up, The Gangstanators ramming a pair of chairs into the heads of Steve Strong and Steve Corino, Robert Thompson nailing a Double Underhook DDT on Jyushin Lyger, D-Lo Brown nailing the Low Down on Fit Finlay, Jyushin Lyger hitting the Running Lyger Bomb onto Owen Hart, and finally Dean Malenko hooking The Giant in the Texas Cloverleaf and then a quick shot of him holding the gold above his head with Sid and Saturn standing behind him looking mean.) Tonight we will see some great matches as Scott Taylor takes on Steve Corino in Round Robin action, The Gladiator does battle with The California Kid, we have some wildcard action, and in the main event, Spike Dudley does battle with Too Cold Scorpio. Also tomorrow, before As Good As It Gets we will be re-capping the feuds that give us our line-up. First off, the line-up for As Good As It Gets: Dean Malenko will do battle with Chris Benoit with not only the World Title on the line, but the bragging rights to who was the leader of the team. These two hate eachother with a passion and it will all be up for grabs. The Gladiator defends his North American Title against two men in D-Lo Brown and Spike Dudley in a triangle match. The Extremists try to hold onto their tag team titles as they face a mystery tag team. They might be from Japan, Mexico, or somewhere in America. The Extremists have pretty much been unbeatable so far, but will they be able to win a match where they can't possibly be prepared? Jyushin Lyger is scheduled to defend his TV Title against Robert Thompson, but with what happened on Terror, it is very questionable. Will he be able to defend his title and if not, what happens? The Hardy Boys get taken to the extreme as they duke it out with The Gangstanators. Matt Hardy has shown that he is more than a little frightened of hardcore matches, but Jeff is counting on him and Matt has promised he will show up with his fighting boots on. Ken Shamrock takes on Saturn in what should be a very exciting matchup. Ken Shamrock blames both Malenko and Benoit for his brother Frank's injury. Saturn is Malenko's henchman...pretty simple. and, just signed: Too Cold Scorpio becomes David as he fights a Goliath in Sid. Scorpio is looking for revenge for what happened on Terror, but will he be able to beat the monster known as Sid? Plus we might see some Round Robin action from the Lightweight Tournament. But lets get to the action. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Steve Corino vs Scott Taylor Lightweight Round Robin Tournament -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Steve Corino has been on somewhat of a slump recently, losing to Juventud Guerrera in less than 2 minutes last week on Heat. Here tonight he would try to get some of his pride back as he will do battle with Scott Taylor. Taylor hadn't been doing too well either, but him teaming with the California Kid had good results so maybe he is ready to get back on the winning track. It should be noted that Steve Strong came out with Steve Corino while The California Kid came out with Scott Taylor. It'll be interesting to see if/when these two get involved.. Corino and Taylor started off using some heel tactics. As they went to hookup Corino poked Taylor in the eye and hooked him into a headlock. Taylor stayed in that position for awhile before picking Corino up and dropping him on his knee in an atomic drop. With the force of the move Corino went running and flying over the top rope and landed on his own partner, Steve Strong! Strong held onto Corino though and put him back on his feet. Corino quickly slid back into the ring and ran right into a clothesline by Taylor. Taylor kept on the pressure and tried to finish Corino off a little later with a powerslam, but Corino kicked out in two. Corino was continually manhandled, but kept kicking out in two. Finally Taylor made a small mistake, putting his head down for backdrop too soon and Corino took control with a DDT. Corino started to lay the boots to Taylor and then went up top and nailed a flying splash, but at the count of two the California Kid put Taylor's foot on the ropes. This sent both Corino and Strong into an uproar. Strong ran over to attack the Kid and the chase was on. The Kid slid into the ring and ran right into Corino who started pounding on the Kid. This left Taylor open to goto the outside, grab the surfboard, and re-enter the ring. Taylor got behind Corino and tapped him on his shoulder and as soon as Corino turned around he was nailed with the surfboard. Taylor followed it up with a quick legdrop and threw the surfboard to the outside and made the cover. Strong didn't see any of this as he finally got his hands on the Kid and sent him to the outside, meanwhile the referee made the 3 count. Scott Taylor pinned Steve Corino with the Too Hot Drop in 0:11:13. Rating: *** 1/4 Steve Strong wasn't done with the Kid, however. He kept on the attack and threw him back into the ring. Soon we had the Untouchables brawling it out with Taylor and the Kid when all of a sudden.... ("Come With Me") Oh no...HERE COMES THE GLADIATOR! He quickly stepped right over the top rope and was right behind Steve Corino...Corino didn't even notice until Awesome grabbed ahold of Corino, twirled him around, and dropped him with a sitdown Awesome Bomb. Taylor remembered what had happened last Monday and simply flew over the ropes and ran as fast as his legs could take him to the back. Steve Strong wasn't going to back down. This Lex Luger look-alike was ready for a fight. He got straight up into Mike Awesome's face and words were exchanged, and nobody even noticed The Kid grabbing his surfboard. He came up behind Awesome and crashed the board right into Awesome's head. With the force of the blow The Gladiator staggered forward where Steve Strong caught him and dropped him with a Northern Lights Bomb. The Gladiator was down...and the Kid was making the cover? And apparently this is their match? -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Gladiator(c) vs The California Kid Non-Title Match... -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1... 2... 3???? The California Kid pinned The Gladiator after outside interference in 0:00:03. Rating: * Please, oh please tell me that this didn't happen. The Kid wasted no time in hauling ass to the back while Strong ... he just spit on Mike Awesome!!! He is now leaving, but this isn't good at all. I think it is very safe to say that Steve Strong and The California Kid are dead men. Mike Awesome has been saying all along he wants some real competition, but I don't think was what he was looking for. Luckily for him that the match was non-title. We now cut to a taped interview with Saturn and Sid. They are in a locker room apparently and they don't look too happy, but they never do. Saturn: Well, apparently my assigment has been switched. I am now responsible for ridding the WWA of Ken Shamrock. I go from Benoit and Lyger to Ken Shamrock. Seems like a major step down to me. Shamrock, you say you are going to attack Benoit and Malenko at the end of their match? You should be worrying about me, instead of them. Just in case you don't know, I am being paid to injure you, not beat you. But I don't want an easy challenge, I want you bring whatever you have to the ring and try to get past me. But here is a warning, it can't be done. You are facing Total Elimination and you don't even know it. Sid: Saturn....I hear you say that you think a match with Ken Shamrock is a step away from top contention, but you should be in my shoes. I must face a man that hasn't been near any matches on the top of the card for around a couple of months. But now, simply because he becomes friends with Jyushin Lyger, I must face him at As Good As It Gets. Scorpio, you will be taught to earn your dues, and not to just buddy up with somebody to get into the main event matches. But there is one more thing you will be taught and it won't be a pleasent lesson...(pauses and starts blinking rapidly)...that there is a master of the universe, that he rules over everything, and that man, that god, is me. (starts laughing hysterically) Saturn: Shamrock, Scorpio, whoever it may be, just know that when you are facing us, you are facing hell. Now camera man, you better get the hell out of here. And after that the camera man is thrown to the outside of the room. We now go back to another match, but not just any match, it's time for the luck of the draw! -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luck of the Draw (In memory of the G!L!W!) -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our first contestant came out and it was John Kronus from the Gangstanators. The crowd didn't overly respond since it's his partner that they really care about. Eh, the other contestant turned out to be Mosh of the Head Bangers. Definately not a match with alot on the line. This match didn't take long to get underway as Kronus went to his martial arts skills, but Mosh countered most of it with some mat wrestling. Mosh though didn't see a savate kick and lost a few teeth because of it. Pretty much a back and forth match until Kronus missed his 450 Splash and appeared to of hit his head on the mat and knocked himself out. Mosh wasted no time in climbing to the top and dropping a flying legdrop to get the 3 count. Kronus was back up shortly and clearly dissapointed at the loss. Mosh pinned John Kronus with the Top Rope Legdrop in 0:10:16. Rating: ** We were then informed of a change to a match at As Good As It Gets. This came after the following challenge by Mike Awesome in the back. (We cut to Mike Awesome in what appears to be a bathroom, not exactly a happy mood.) Mike Awesome: I said I wanted a challenge, not some fucking cheater cheating me out of a win. After I got myself back to my feet I was only thinking about taking Steve Strong and The Kid out, but I soon realized they had left. I then decided to take it out on their partners, Corino and Taylor, but apparently they had left as well. But while walking around, I have finally come to a conclusion. Why not use tomorrow to try and solve two problems at once. For weeks I have been complaining about lack of competition. D-Lo alone wouldn't be enough to give me a fight so I added Spike Dudley into the mix. But I would probably even get a better challenge if there were 4 men. So tomorrow, it's me vs 4 men. Sure, it's a 5 way dance, but like I've said before, I want them all ganging up on me. I am looking for a challenge and I may have just found it. The Kid, Strong, D-Lo, and Spike, you all will face me tomorrow, and pray to God you give me some competition or I am taking it out on all of you. We now go back to our final match and the main event. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Too Cold Scorpio vs Spike Dudley -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Spike Dudley is trying to get some momentum going into the just announced big 5 man match at As Good As It Gets while Too Cold Scorpio has a huge challenge in Sid at As Good As It Gets. This isn't a warm-up for either man and will be a helluva challenge for both. Too Cold Scorpio was still sporting a bandage from Monday, he apparently had to have over 30 stitches to close the wound on his forehead. He better hopes it heals before tomorrow or he may lose a pint of blood at the hands of Sid. Spike Dudley stuck his hand out to start the match and Scorpio wasted no time in shaking his hand. Looks like they have equal respect for eachother. Right after that though they started exchanging blows with Spike surprisingly getting the upper hand. Spike pushed Scorpio into the ropes and whipped him into the opposite side. Spike nailed him on the rebound with a back elbow. He then started stomping over to the turnbuckle...he's going up already? Spike got to the second rope and came sailing off at Scorpio, but Scorpio caught him and brought him over with a powerslam. Scorpio picked up Spike and threw him to the outside. Scorpio ... Scorpio's going to the top turnbuckle!!!! He is facing away from a staggering Spike Dudley!!! MOONSAULT PLANCHA! Both men are down and hurt....Wait, Scorpio is getting up, but it looks like he might of injured his knee a little. He picks up Spike and whips him into the guardrail. He charges in with a spinning leg lariat, but Spike ducks under and Scorpio goes sailing over the guardrail. Spike climbs up as well. He grabs Scorpio as he is getting up in a headlock. He runs at the guardrail, runs up the guardrail, springs off, SWINGING BULLDOG ONTO THE CEMENT! Scorpio is out cold. Spike picks up Scorpio and throws him into a row of chairs and the crowd scatters. And Spike isn't done! Spike picks up Scorpio and throws him back over the guardrail and back into the ringside area. Spike is climbing back over as well. He grabs Scorpio and brings Too Cold back to his feet. He pushes him onto a table (why was it here? Nobody knows...) and delivers several punches to make sure Scorpio isn't going anywhere. He climbs back onto the ring apron and starts climbing the top turnbuckle, but as soon as he gets to the top turnbuckle Scorpio is off like a bullet and nails him with a stiff right. He grabs ahold of Spike, is he trying to superplex him....to the outside? HE HAS HIM UP AND THEY GO SAILING OFF AND THROUGH THE TABLE! SPIKE IS DEAD!!! For quite awhile neither man got to his feet, but finally Scorpio got up and picked up a motionless Spike and threw him into the ring. Spike was sporting a huge cut on his leg from where a remnant of the table had apparently cut him pretty deep. Scorpio picked Spike up and dropped him in a bodyslam and then went to the top...He is going for his Tumbleweed, but Spike moves out of the way and Scorpio hits nothing but mat! Actually, it wasn't so much that Spike moved, but Scorpio was way off. That swinging bulldog on the outside had to given him a concussion. Spike slowly got to his feet and picked Scorpio up, hooked him for a Diamond Cutter, and ran up the turnbuckle, springed off....Scorpio holds onto him!! He drops him with a back suplex. All that momentum was just haulted by Scorpio. Scorpio wastes no time in getting back to the top rope...450 Splash!! 1... 2... 3!!! Too Cold Scorpio pinned Spike Dudley with the 450 Splash in 0:11:33. Rating: ** 3/4 SEE YOU ALL AT AS GOOD AS IT GETS! |
