| ("War Machine" starts and we go through the opening video with the following clips: Spike Dudley hitting the Acid Drop on D-Lo Brown, Too Cold Scorpio nailing the 450 on Fit Finlay, Jeff Hardy blasting New Jack over the head with a guitar, The Extremists standing on opposite turnbuckles, Too Cool brawlin it out with the Dragon Kid and Juventud Guerrera, Ken Shamrock putting Frank Shamrock in the Ankle Lock Submission, Saturn dropping Chris Benoit with the Death Valley Driver, Mike Awesome executing the Awesome Bomb on The Giant, Benoit putting Saturn in the Crippler Crossface, Bigelow and Lee executing their finishers from the top rope through tables onto the Extremists, Robert Thompson dropping Jyushin Lyger with the Double Arm DDT, Perry Saturn driving Sid into the mat with a Death Valley Driver, Dean Malenko putting the Texas Cloverleaf on Benoit, and then Malenko holding the World Title over his head.) (start clip) Awesome has made it to the top of the cage! Lyger and Awesome are standing on the top of the cage! Awesome punches at Lyger. Lyger fires back. They fight towards one of the corners of the cage. Awesome seems to get the upper hand as he blocks one of Lyger's punches and kicks Lyger in the stomach. Awesome sets him up...he can't be thinking...no...HE PICKS HIM UP ONTO HIS SHOULDER!!! LYGER SLIDES DOWN HIS BACK!!! Awesome turns around, Lyger with a boot to Awesome's midsection! LYGER GRABS AWESOME, UP!!! HE STARTS TO RUN! HE RELEASES!! RUNNING RELEASED LYGER BOMB!!! AND THE CAGE DOESN'T HOLD!!! Part of the top of the cage broke open! Awesome goes through the top and falls to the ring below!!! WHAT A HUGE DROP! After hearing the thud the four men on the outside stop their fighting and look to the ring. They just stand there in awe as Awesome lays there, not moving while Lyger looks down at him from the top of the cage. Lyger looks down with his shoulder's slumped. He steps over to the edge and looks down the hole...he jumps down the hole!!! FLYING ELBOWDROP!!!! CONNECTS! Lyger just jumped off the top of the cage through a hole and to the ring below!!! Awesome still isn't moving! Lyger slowly gets to his feet, but then falls right back down and onto Awesome! The ref drops down! 1... 2... 3!!!! LYGER! LYGER! LYGER! IT'S LYGER AT CONTACT! Hell In the Cell: Jyushin Lyger pinned Mike Awesome after a flying elbowdrop in 0:14:26. Rating: **** Benoit had seen enough as he grabs Malenko from behind and hurls him into the cage again, turns his back, and walks away. Scorpio is jumping for joy and runs around to the door and enters and slides into the ring. Malenko gets his bearings back, looks in disgust, and then turns his back and walks away. Scorpio picks Lyger up and embraces him! Lyger is barely able to stand, but Scorpio holds him up and raises his arm in the air. Awesome continues to lay on the mat. He still hasn't moved after the impact. Scorpio props Lyger up on the top turnbuckle where he can sit. Lyger raises his arms in the air as the crowd goes crazy. Only one man never stopped watching Lyger. Robert Thompson. Robert Thompson's eyes, filled with hatred, never left Lyger. Thompson must be feeling so many mixed emotions right now. But only one was clear. Hatred. (end clip) We are less than a week away from Contact and we finally know what our main event will be. It's Dean Malenko putting his World Title on the line against Jyushin "Thunder" Lyger. It'll be a match for the ages. It was just about a month ago when Lyger pinned Malenko in a non-title match. There was some controversy over that match, but this time, hopefully, there will be none. There are a few people angry with this match and that includes Chris Benoit, Robert Thompson, and, of course, a man who is never happy, Mike Awesome. Regardless, it will be Malenko versus Lyger, there is no doubt about that. Will Lyger be the man to finally dethrone Malenko? Or will Malenko's reign of terror continue into it's sixth month? ("Right Now" by Van Halen) And it was now known who would make his appearance first on tonight's show. It's the man who is going to Contact to do what everybody else has failed. To win the WWA World Title. To beat Dean Malenko for that strap. As soon as Lyger stepped out of the curtains the crowd was on their feet and chearing the man on. Lyger looked out into the crowd and seemed astonished that he was getting this reaction. He is heading into the "big" match at the PPV. He has never been in this spot before in the WWA. It's gotta be a great feeling. Lyger started walking down the aisle, climbed up the stairs, gave a little salute out to the crowd and stepped in between the ropes. He was handed his microphone and was ready to give us his thoughts on the past week. JYUSHIN LYGER: There are alot of good things that have been going on with my life. The best probably being last week where I defeated Mike Awesome in a hell in a cell match and earned the right to face Dean Malenko for the World Title. Yes, there has been alot of good in my life, and I'd love to just sit around and talk about it. The problem with that is, that would mean I am leaving out something that may be even more important and that is what is going on in my life that isn't so good. I should be the happiest man in the WWA right now. I should be, but I'm not. The only thing I can think about is how I might have ended my long time friendship with my best friend, Chris Benoit. Benoit, I am sorry for what I had to do. I don't even know if it's all my fault. But like I said last week, somebody has to beat Malenko. We've all been under his control since this fed started and it just makes me sick to my stomach anymore. I know you wanted to be the man to beat him for the strap. I know that was your dream, but Chris, it just wasn't happening. At least not as fast we needed it too. Hell, I don't even know if I'll be able to beat him. But I have to give it my best shot. But the WWA is about more then just one person...even if that one person is my best friend. Dean Malenko, on Sunday, we go at it. You know what I am capable of. But I guess the same could be said about you knowing me. You have been a major asshole ever since winning that strap, but nobody has been able to take it away from you. You have gone unpunished for everything you have done. I am not going ... ("Come With Me" by Puff Daddy) OH CRAP! This music can only mean one person is headed down the aisle...and there he is...MIKE AWESOME! Awesome started to limp towards the ring, obviously still feeling the effects of being power bombed through a cage and hitting the mat below. Mike Awesome is staring straight ahead to the ring not even looking out into the fans like he sometimes does, but the fans don't seem to notice as they cheer him anyways. Awesome has picked up a huge fan following with his no nonsense attitude. It was Awesome that Lyger beat to get his World Title shot at Contact. What will Awesome have to say? We would know soon as Awesome stepped over the top rope, walked over, grabbed a mic and turned to face Lyger. MIKE AWESOME: Jyushin, last week we had one hell of a match. I am pissed off I am not going to Contact. In fact, I don't think you have any idea about how pissed I am. I want to rip somebodies head off, but that person is not you. At least not right onw. What I wanted to do out here was to say, even though things weren't entirely clean, even though the result might have changed simply because Malenko showed his face, well, I can't blame you for that. So, Lyger, I plan on kicking your ass, just not right now. Right now I am going to stick my hand out and you better take it or I'm going to kill you. It's as simple as that. And Awesome sticks his hand out!!! Lyger looks out to the crowd for a second, and they seem to be saying to accept it. Lyger reluctantly sticks his hand out, hooks it with Awesome's, and they shake hands! MIKE AWESOME: Good luck at Contact. Just know this, if you win, you will enter my sights once again. I'll be seeing you later if you have the strap. And just like that Awesome stepped over the top rope once again, hopped to the floor and walked to the back. Jyushin Lyger watched on, almost in a state of shock it appeared. He looked down at his hand, shook his head, and stepped in between the ropes and also headed to the back. We went to some commercials and when we returned it was time for our opening contest. D'Lo Brown was out first along with his manager, Eric Embry. Mike Quackenbush apparently thought it best to stay in the back. Next out was the Intercontinental Champion, Too Cold Scorpio. He danced down the aisle and received a huge pop. D'Lo Brown is receiving this title shot due to getting the #10 spot in the rankings. The rankings can be found on the WWA website at: tnmwwa.terrashare.com Enough with the plugs. Let's get on with the match. ---------------------------------------------------- Intercontinental Title on the line! Too Cold Scorpio(c) vs D'Lo Brown ---------------------------------------------------- Too Cold Scorpio and D'Lo Brown both have huge matches coming up on Sunday at Contact. Tonight's match would be a big factor in gaining momentum towards those matches. D'Lo tried to get in a few last word pieces of advice from Embry before the match could begin, but this allowed Scorpio to get in a sneak attack from behind and gain the early advantage. Scorpio pushed him into the corner and started to goto work on him. Scorpio delivered several blows that looked pretty brutal before whipping D'Lo into the opposite turnbuckle. Scorpio tried to follow it up as he charged in, but D'Lo took a few steps out of the corner and went flying into the air with his version of the dropkick that knocked Scorpio for a loop. Scorpio hit the mat as D'Lo got to his feet and started his head jive. The crowd immediately jumped all over him for it. D'Lo slowly picked Scorpio up and dropped him with a vertical suplex. D'Lo kept up the offense with several slow, but punishing moves to keep Scorpio winded. After a powerslam it looked like things might be over for Too Cold. D'Lo was ready to end it as he picked Scorpio up and propped him between his legs. D'Lo lifted him up onto his shoulders and started running, preparing for his running powerbomb, but Scorpio slid down D'Lo's back! D'Lo turned around and Scorpio clobbered him with a savate kick that had to have knocked a few teeth loose. D'Lo took a few steps back and Scorpio nearly took his head off with a clothesline. D'Lo quickly rolled to the outside, but as soon as he got there Scorpio was springboarding himself to the outside with a plancha right onto D'Lo. D'Lo went down in a heap, but Scorpio was right back to his feet. Eric Embry thought he saw an opening and tried to take advantage of it, but instead ran right into a Scorpio boot that connected with his midsection. Embry bent over, gasping for breath, and Scorpio dropped him with a double axehandle. By this time D'Lo was getting back to his feet, but Scorpio caught him and threw him back into the ring. It was now his turn to show off some of his own offense including power bomb that had to hurt. A cover only got two, however. Scorpio kept it up, but Embry got back to his feet on the outside. Scorpio bounced off of the ropes after dropping D'Lo with a bodyslam, but got tripped up by Embry. Scorpio turned around and reached over the top rope to get at Embry, but Embry hammered him with a fist. Scorpio staggered back and right into a rollup by D'Lo Brown. The ref dropped down to make the count... 1... 2... NO! Kickout! Scorpio barely got out of that one. Both men quickly got to their feet with D'Lo trying for a clothesline, but Scorpio ducked under it. They both turned around and Scorpio kicked him a little low. D'Lo bent over and Scorpio dropped him with a gutwrench suplex. With D'Lo in perfect position he quickly hopped onto the top turnbuckle and jumped off with the Scorpio Splash! It connected perfectly and the ref dropped down to make the count. 1... 2... 3!!! Too Cold Scorpio pinned D'Lo Brown with the Scorpio Splash in 0:10:49. Rating: *** 1/4 (Too Cold Scorpio retained the WWA Intercontinental Title.) Too Cold Scorpio got to his feet just as Eric Embry slid into the ring. Embry ran full steam at Scorpio, but Scorpio caught him with a jumping side kick. Embry fell to the mat, but Scorpio wasn't done. He dragged Embry over to the corner and climbed up to the top once more. This time it was the Tumbleweed that connected. With his job done, Scorpio picked up his Intercontinental Title and walked to the back. D'Lo slowly crawled over to check on his manager as we went to the back. We are in Tully Blanchard's office. He is sitting behind his desk with some papers scattered across his desk. He straightens a couple of those papers before setting them back on the desk and looking straight into the camera. TULLY BLANCHARD: The Championship Commitee and myself had quite a problem on our hands with tonight's main event. There were so many options available to us. But we finally decided on a main event that will hopefully live up to the expectations that the fans obviously have for a Monday Night Terror that is leading up to a pay-per-view. That main event is Dean Malenko teaming up with Robert Thompson to face Jyushin Lyger and ... Chris Benoit. I have no doubts that Benoit will oppose this, but it's done. And if Benoit wants to continue to wrestle in the WWA he will wrestle this match. Thank you, and I hope you all enjoy watching tonight's show. From there we goto Jyushin Lyger sitting on a folding chair, watching the television set. Just then the door bursts open. Chris Benoit storms into the room. CHRIS BENOIT: What's going on here? You have Blanchard in your back pocket or something? I don't even know why you need me since you seem so sure you can handle Malenko by yourself. This is the biggest load of shit I've ever seen. JYUSHIN LYGER: Calm down, Chris. I didn't ask for this match. But I'm glad I have it. We can win this match. CHRIS BENOIT: Yeah, no shit. But I am still being forced to team with somebody that I once considered my best friend... JYUSHIN LYGER: I still am your best friend. CHRIS BENOIT: No, you're not. You stabbed me in the back. You know, I have mixed emotions about Sunday. I don't want you to win the title because defeating Malenko is MY job. But if you were to win the title I'd have a helluva time whipping your ass for it. JYUSHIN LYGER: Come on, Chris. I didn't do anything that nobody else would have. You haven't been able to beat Malenko. It's time for somebody else to get a chance. CHRIS BENOIT: Yeah, somebody else. But not my best friend. I'll see you later tonight. And with that Chris Benoit walks out of the room. Lyger gets to his feet, turns off the TV, and also leaves the room. We go back to the ring in time to see Steve Corino making his entrance. Corino has split up with Steve Strong, but it wasn't a friendly split. It all started when Strong would not come down the aisle to save Corino from an attack by Matt Hardy. The week after that the two men fought with Corino getting the win and afterwards trying to put Strong permanently on the shelf. It didn't work. Still, Corino has elevated himself enough to get this next match...his opponent? Ken Shamrock. Ken Shamrock will be fighting Chris Benoit at Contact, trying to get revenge against who he thinks is responsible for causing Frank Shamrock's injury. Frank can no longer wrestle, but Ken can, and he wants revenge. --------------------------------------------------- Steve Corino vs Ken Shamrock --------------------------------------------------- Corino has never been in a match of such importance before. A win here would prove he has been held back in the Untouchables. However, Ken Shamrock is a man that isn't easily beaten. And with Frank Shamrock on the outside it really complicates things. Both Corino and Shamrock walked to the center of the ring once the bell was rung. Corino delivered the first blow as he nailed Shamrock with a punch to the head. Corino followed it up with a couple more that sent Shamrock staggering back into the corner. With Shamrock in the corner Corino went to work with several chops to the chest and a few more punches before kicking away at Shamrock's midsection. Once Corino thought he had Shamrock worn out he grabbed ahold of him and dragged him to the center of the ring. He propped him between his legs as if going for a piledriver, but Shamrock backdropped out of that. Both men got back to their feet at about the same time, but Shamrock was able to grab ahold of Corino and whip him into the ropes. Corino bounced off, ducked under a clothesline by Shamrock, bounced off the opposite ropes and came back with a flying clothesline that took Shamrock off of his feet. Corino picked Shamrock back up and dropped him with a gutwrench suplex, but only got a two count. Things were definately looking good for Steve Corino. Corino picked Shamrock back up to his feet and threw him in between the ropes to the outside. As Shamrock got back to his feet Corino flew through the ropes and right into Shamrock with a tope. Both men hit the ground pretty hard, but Corino was able to get back to his feet and throw Shamrock back into the ring. Back in the ring Corino set Shamrock up for another piledriver or powerbomb, but Shamrock was apparently playing a little bit of opossum as he rolled Corino up in a small package, but only got a two count. Once again both men got back to their feet at about the same time, and it was Shamrock delivering several brutal forearm smashes to Corino's head. Corino staggered back into the ropes, but Shamrock brought him back into the center of the ring, hooked Corino, and brought him over with a takeover suplex. Shamrock went for the submission as he grabbed ahold of Corino's knee, but before he could hook on some sort of hold Corino kicked out of it. Shamrock and Corino both got to their feet, but Shamrock was a little wobbily allowing Corino to boot him in the midsection, get behind him, and drop him with an inverted DDT. Shamrock was right by the ropes allowing Corino to go between the ropes, get on the ring apron, and springboard himself in with a legdrop that connected perfectly. Corino quickly rolled over and got on top of Shamrock and hooked the leg. 1... 2... NO! Kickout! Shamrock still had something left in him. Corino lifted Shamrock back to his feet, but this time Shamrock was ready as he brought his arm up and connected right with Corino's groin. Corino's legs started to buckle, but Shamrock held him up and whipped him into the ropes. As Corino came back Shamrock flew into the air, wrapped his legs around Corino's head, and brought him over with a Frankensteiner. Corino's head was drilled into the mat and Shamrock made the cover. 1... 2... NO! KICKOUT! Corino somehow kicked out! This didn't stop Shamrock, however. He picked Corino right back up, whipped him into the ropes, and dropped him with another Frankensteiner. This time instead of going for the pin he hooked on the Ankle Lock Submission. Corino had nowhere to go and was forced to tap out. Ken Shamrock made Steve Corino submit with the Ankle Lock Submission in 0:13:19. Rating: *** Corino slowly rolled out of the ring, and hobbled to the back. Still, it was proven that Corino could hold his own with some of the bigger names. He just needs some more time. Back at the ring area Frank Shamrock walked over to our ring announcer and grabbed the microphone from him and slid into the ring. He handed it over to Ken. KEN SHAMROCK: Everybody is wondering what's going to happen at Contact. They are wondering if Jyushin Lyger really has what it takes to defeat Dean Malenko. They are wondering who the masked henchman of Malenko is. Will he be able to give Mike Awesome a good fight? They are wondering if Too Cold Scorpio and Robert Thompson are going to be able to live up to the past fights between Thompson and Lyger. Who is going to leave as a double champ? But what everybody is forgetting is that I am on the show and I am fighitng Chris Benoit. Chris Benoit is so busy dealing with his problems with Lyger and with Malenko that he seems to have forgotten about me. And that only pisses me off more. Benoit, you made a huge mistake a few months ago when you didn't stop the attack on my brother. But you have made a bigger mistake just recently and that is forgetting that I am still here. I am still here and I'm just waiting for the oppurtunity to kick your ass. I hope you are looking past me at Contat. I really hope so. It'll make my job just that much easier. With that Ken threw the mic down onto the mat and exited the ring along with his brother. They both walked down the aisle as the crowd continued to boo them. We goto the back where Dean Malenko is in his locker room with Robert Thompson, Perry Saturn, and his masked henchman. DEAN MALENKO: Okay, tonight Rob and I are taking Chris and Lyger out. They don't stand a chance. But, Saturn, tonight I want you to take care of Sid. I hear he is in the building and still aiming for me. Normally I could handle him, but not tonight. I'm busy. PERRY SATURN: I'd really like too, but I promised Kronus we'd have a tag match tonight. DEAN MALENKO: What? Who? PERRY SATURN: Yeah, sorry. DEAN MALENKO: Listen, I don't care if you team with Kronus when you aren't following my orders, but when it starts to interfere then it's time to stop it. You do what I say. PERRY SATURN: Yeah, no problem. I'll fight Sid tonight. DEAN MALENKO: That's better. Perry Saturn picks up his gear and leaves the room as Malenko continues to talk. We go back to the ring for the Ultimo Dragon's entrance. He is out by himself, leaving the Dragon Kid and Juventud Guerrera in the back. This was going to be a great match because his opponent is Billy Kidman. Kidman is going to be facing Matt Hardy at Contact, Ultimo Dragon will be paired up with Juvy and the Kid to face Too Cool and a mystery partner. But before any of that could happen, these two would have to go one on one. The winner of this match would definately be a top contender for the Light Heavyweight Title held by the Dragon Kid. Both men knew that coming in and planned to make the best of it. ----------------------------------------------- Billy Kidman vs Ultimo Dragon ----------------------------------------------- The two men hooked up to start the match off with Kidman quickly pushing Dragon into the ropes and whipping them into the opposite side of the ring. Ultimo came bouncing back and Kidman caught him with a spinebuster. Just like that and Kidman had gained the early advantage. Kidman picked Dragon up and bounced off the ropes and went for a clothesline, but Dragon sent his legs in the air, wrapped them around Kidman's arm, and brought him down in a crucifix. Only good enough for a two count, but it proved that Dragon wasn't going down easily. Both men got to their feet, but Ultimo was just a tad bit faster as he kicked Kidman in the midsection and lifted him in the air is if going for a powerbomb. Kidman was able to slid down Ultimo's back, however, and ran against the ropes. Ultimo turned around just in time to see Kidman fly into the air with a high crossbody, but Ultimo caught him and dropped him on his knee with a backbreaker. Ultimo quickly pulled Kidman to his feet and pushed him into the corner. From there Ultimo started to really goto work as he delivered a series of kicks to the midsection that will leave Kidman hurting tomorrow. Ultimo followed those up by whipping him into the opposite corner. Kidman hit the corner hard and staggered out allowing Ultimo to go back to the air and nailed Kidman with a spinning leg lariat that took Kidman off of his feet once again. Ultimo followed that up by whipping Kidman into the ropes, but he stuck his head down way too early allowing Kidman to hook his arms, and bring Ultimo crashing down to the mat with a double underhook faceslam. Kidman dragged Ultimo over to the corner and lifted him up to his feet while at the same time climbing onto the second turnbuckle. Once he had him in position he swung off the turnbuckles and drove Ultimo's head into the mat with a swinging DDT. Kidman moved over and made the cover, but only got a two count. Kidman wasted no time in picking Ultimo back up to his feet and dropping him with a back suplex. Kidman decided not to go for the cover as instead he lifted Ultimo back to his feet and whipped him into the ropes. Ultimo was somehow able to reverse it and as Kidman came back Ultimo jumped into the air and brought Kidman over with a Frankensteiner! Ultimo made the cover! 1... 2... NO! Kickout! Ultimo picked Kidman back up and dropped him with a waistlock suplex. Ultimo was right back to his feet and hit a legdrop. Ultimo hopped right back up and hit another one. Kidman started to look a little tired as Ultimo pulled him to his feet and went for another powerbomb, but Kidman countered it in mid-air and dropped Ultimo with a faceslam. Ultimo's head hit the mat rather hard, but was still somehow able to get right back to his feet. Kidman bounced off the ropes, Ultimo dropped onto his stomach, Kidman jumped over Ultimo, bounced off of the ropes again, and came back, but ran right into a dropkick that connected perfectly. Kidman seemed to be out of it. Ultimo picked Kidman up, ran into the ropes, jumped onto the middle one, moonsaulted back with an Asai Moonsault...KIDMAN CAUGHT HIM!!! KIDMAN DROPPED HIM STRAIGHT INTO THE MAT WITH A TOMBSTONE! Kidman makes the cover! 1... 2... 3!!! Billy Kidman pinned Ultimo Dragon after a Tombstone in 0:08:14. Rating: *** Billy Kidman left the ring, happy with his win. Ultimo Dragon had to have a little help in getting back to his feet, but he also eventually left the ring. Before our next match we went to the back to get some words from one of the competitors. SID VICIOUS: Perry, Perry, Pair. Which one is destroyed tonight and which one is not? Or two is not. But that's not the point. Perry, Dean has sicked you onto me. He wants you to take care of me. That won't be the case. I am at a point in my life where I could care less about wins and losses. Robert Thompson beat me on Saturday, I have no problems admitting that. All I care about is driving Dean into the mat a few hundred times with my powerbombs. That sounds like fun. I might even break his back, just for the hell of it. But, Perry, I really don't think you are ready to get into the ring with somebody with nothing to lose. Pin me, so what? All I care about is killing people. I like the taste of blood. Did you know that, Perry? I don't think you did. But yes, I like the taste of blood. It has a certain appeal to it. Blood...Perry, I hope you are ready. Blood. Yes, blood. (The camera zooms out and starts walking backwards as Sid follows him. After a few seconds of this the camera man just turns around and runs the hell away.) We goto the ring where Perry Saturn is making his entrance to a rather large chorus of boos. Next was Sid Vicious. Vicious apparently had given up on chasing the camera man and decided Perry Saturn looked like a better meal. Whatever that means. As soon as Sid entered the ring Perry jumped onto him with a double axehandle and the match was underway. --------------------------------------------- Perry Saturn vs Sid Vicious --------------------------------------------- Saturn quickly pushed Sid into the corner and went to work with several swift kicks to his midsection. Eventually Saturn let Sid out of the corner and as Sid staggered out Saturn ran up from behind him and bulldogged him into the mat. Saturn rolled Sid over and made the cover, but only got a two count. Saturn picked Sid back up and looked to be going for a DDT, but Sid was able to backdrop out of it. Saturn hopped right back to his feet, but ran right into a big powerslam. Sid's cover only got two, but it was debatable if he even wanted the three count at this point. Sid grabbed ahold of Saturn by the neck and pulled him to his feet. He proceeded to drop Saturn with a back suplex. Sid picked Saturn right back up and looked to be going for another back suplex, but this time Saturn was ready and he elbowed his way out of that move. Saturn quickly turned around, hooked Sid's stomach, and brought him over with a Northern Lights Suplex. There was a big pop from the crowd for that move. Saturn held on with the bridge, but Sid was able to get out in two once again. Sid and Saturn both got back to their feet, but Saturn got in the first offensive manuever with a facerake...But Sid didn't sell the move! He was laughing at Saturn! AND HE GRABS SATURN BY THE NECK! UP! DOWN! CHOKESLAM! Sid dropped down and made the cover! 1... 2... Thr...NO! Foot on the ropes! Somehow Saturn was able to tell where he was and get his foot on the ropes. Sid was a little pissed. No, I guess that's not right. He was really pissed. He picked Saturn up, but Saturn tried to sneak in a roundhouse right. Sid was able to block it and hammer Saturn with a clothesline. Saturn went back down to the mat as Sid looked down at him. Sid picked Saturn back up and whipped him into the ropes, big boot! Sid wasn't happy with just one, however, as he lifted Saturn back to his feet, whipped him into the ropes again, and hit another big boot. This time Sid bounced off the far ropes and hit the Beg Leg Drop to follow it up. Sid didn't even try for the cover after that. Sid whipped Saturn into the ropes once more, but this time Sid was going for a backdrop, but stuck his head down too early allowing Saturn to nail him with a kick right to the face. Sid straightened up, and Saturn nailed him with a lariat. Sid fell to the mat as Saturn quickly exited the ring, got on the ring apron, and climbed up to the top turnbuckle. With Sid lying on the mat Saturn flew off the top turnbuckle with the elbow from the heavens. It connected perfectly and Saturn made the cover. 1... 2... No! Sid kicked out! Saturn was beginning to look a little nervous. He picked Sid back up, but Sid hammered him with a right hand. Saturn staggered back and Sid literally jumped on top of Saturn with some sort of Thesz Press...AND HE'S BITING SATURN!!! He's biting Saturn's face! What in the hell has gotten into Sid Vicious?! The ref quickly tried to pull him off, but Sid wouldn't budge. He ripped away at Saturn's flesh, pulling off skin from the forehead and the bridge of the nose. Saturn was bleeding a gusher as his legs kicked out and his arms desperately tried to pull Sid off. When Sid finally released Saturn his face came up, blood dripping from his mouth. And Sid was smiling! Saturn quickly got to his feet, and put a hand to his head and then pulled it down and looked at it. He looked at it for a few seconds, not seeming to be able to believe it. This cost him as Sid booted him in the midsection, set him up, POWER BOMB! Sid dropped down and hooked a leg. The ref reluctantly made the count. 1... 2... 3!!! Sid Vicious pinned Perry Saturn with the Power Bomb in 0:09:00. Rating: -* Sid Vicious slowly got to his feet. He still had blood on his lips and running down his chin, but he didn't seem to notice. He got a weird look on his face and quickly exited the ring and walked to the back. Meanwhile the referee exited the ring, grabbed a towel from the ring announcer, re-entered the ring, and applied it to Saturn's head. Saturn laid there for a few seconds before pushing the referee away from him, holding the towel toh is head, and sliding to the outside. He walked to the back, moving from side to side at points. He was obviously a little dizzy, but didn't want any help. The camera followed Saturn into the back. John Kronus was waiting right behind the curtain and as Saturn walked by he caught up and started talking to him. JOHN KRONUS: So, about our match tonight, who we going to fight? PERRY SATURN: Are you blind? I'm freaking bleeding right now! JOHN KRONUS: But you promised me we'd have a match. PERRY SATURN: Listen, I had to do something for Dean. He takes priority. I told you that. Now leave me alone. I'm not in the mood. John Kronus stopped as Saturn kept on walking. Saturn continued to hold the towel to his head, and the white towel was slowly turning red. We now cut to Billy Kidman. He is saying goodbye to some girl, turns and walks off. He opens a door that leads to the outside, but before he can walk through his head gets smashed by a trashcan. Kidman fell to the ground as the man that did it starts kicking at his body. The camera looks up to reveal that the man is Matt Hardy. Oh crap. The last time Matt Hardy was involved in something he was pushing thumbtacks into Droz's back. This is not going to be either good or fun for Kidman. Matt kept kicking until he was satisfied that Kidman wouldn't be getting up. He then grabbed ahold of Matt's arm, hooked it up by the bicep. Matt started talking to Kidman and so the camera zoomed in to see what he had to say. MATT HARDY: ... Yeah, that's right. I could break your arm with a twist of my wrist. But you'll be happy to know that I'm not planning on doing that right now. No, I am going to save any and all fun I have planned for you for Sunday. On Sunday your life may just come to an end. Your flesh will be torn on Sunday. It's an urge that I must comply with. Sunday. With that Matt released Kidman's arm and walked off. Kidman let out a breath as he slowly got to his knees. We now goto Dean Malenko's lockerroom. Perry Saturn opens the door and staggers in. The masked henchman walks over to check up on him as Malenko turns to face him. Thompson isn't in the room. DEAN MALENKO: I saw what happened. PERRY SATURN: Yeah, well, I felt it. I don't know what's gotten into him. He never used to be like that. Hell, I should know. I teamed with him a couple of times. He is a freaking psycho. DEAN MALENKO: Don't worry about it. We'll deal with him. You better go get some help for those cuts. They look nasty. PERRY SATURN: I'm getting ready to go. Just thought I'd warn you. Sid's a crazy man. If you see him, don't get in his way. DEAN MALENKO: I'm afraid it's a little too late for that. Go on. You'll going to need some stitches. Saturn left the room after the exchange. We now goto Chris Benoit's lockerroom. He is with Beulah. Apparently his girlfriend. CHRIS BENOIT: Who the fuck does Tully think he is? I'm trying to make a stand here. Lyger wronged me. This thing just isn't going to go away. I don't know how Tully expects me to team with him tonight. I can barely stand to look at that son of a bitch. BEULAH: Come on, Chris. He is your.... CHRIS BENOIT: Was. BEULAH: Alright, was your best friend. Maybe he deserves the benefit of the doubt. CHRIS BENOIT: Look, he knows how much this means to me. He knows it. I have told him a hundred times. But he is still going through with it. A best friend wouldn't. No, he isn't doing it to hurt me. I know that. But he obviously doesn't care enough about our friendship to give up the match. I guess what really bothers me is that I know Lyger can beat Malenko. But I know I can too. And I gotta be the person. Not Lyger. BEULAH: Honey, you can't always get your way. (Benoit's head snaps towards Beulah.) CHRIS BENOIT: WHEN THE FUCK HAVE I EVER GOTTEN MY WAY? We finally go back to the ring for our next match as The Extremists are making their way down the aisle. The Extremists got a big win over the Dragon Kid and Juventud Guerrera on Heat and now they're back on Terror. Their opponents will be two men that are going to face their arch-rivals, the Eliminators, at Contact. If you are still wondering who their opponents would be...well, their music reveals all. ("Natural Born Killaz") --------------------------------------------------- The Extremists vs The Gangstas --------------------------------------------------- The Extremists knew this was a big match and were ready. They were in their fighting stance as New Jack and Mustafa Saed ran out from the back with their trashcan of doom. They threw the trashcan into the ring and slid inside. Devon Storm was able to catch the trashcan and brought it down on top of New Jack's head. Mustafa pushed Darling into the corner and started hammering away with fists. Storm broke that up qiuckly by driving a knee into his lower back. Mustafa turned around and got a knee in the midsection. Storm dragged Mustafa into the center of the ring and dropped him with a DDT. Storm went for the quick cover, but New Jack broke it up by breaking a crutch over Storm's back! Darling was back into things as he jumped over Storm's and Mustafa's bodies and tackled New Jack. Darling started firing away at New Jack, but New Jack turned over and was now on top. He started punching away at Darling's face, but Darling turned it around again. Mustafa and Storm both got back to their feet, but as Mustafa got up he grabbed a chair that was in the trashcan. Mustafa let loose a wild swing that connected with Storm's head. Storm went down to the mat as Mustafa walked over and picked up a cheese grater. He walked up behind Darling, who was punching away at New Jack, and started raking it across his forehead. Darling quickly stopped punching at New Jack and tried to pull the grater off of his head with no luck. New Jack got back to his feet and clotheslined Storm as he was getting to his feet. Storm fell in between the middle ropes and to the outside. New Jack followed him out. New Jack grabbed ahold of Storm and whipped him into the guardrail, grabbed a chair that was just sitting around, and charged Storm. He jumped high into the air and brought the chair crashing down onto Storm's head. Mustafa picked Darling up and dropped him with a BIG vertical suplex. Mustafa followed it up by bouncing off of the ropes and hitting a splash, but it only got him a two count. Back on the outside New Jack threw Storm over the guardrail and into the crowd. The crowd was going crazy as New Jack hopped over the guardrail and hammered Storm with a double axehandle. The crowd parted as New Jack picked Storm up and hurled him into a row of chairs. Storm was down and wasn't getting back up. New Jack hopped back over the guardrail and into the ring. Mustafa and New Jack whipped Darling into the ropes and hit him with a double clothesline. Mustafa picked up a frying pan that was inside the trashcan and waited for Darling to get back up. Once Darling was up Mustafa cracked the pan over his head. Darling fell backwards, but was held up by New Jack. New Jack pushed him over to the corner and then exited the ring. He went under the ring and pulled out a guitar!!!! New Jack slid the guitar into the ring and followed it inside. Once in New Jack picked the guitar up and started playing a few chords...Mustafa pulled Darling out of the corner...New Jack swings...EL KABONG ON DARLING! Darling fell to the mat and New Jack made the cover. Storm had climbed back over the guardrail and slid into the ring. He ducked under a Mustafa clothesline and dropped an elbow on the back of New Jack's head breaking up the count. Storm got back to his feet and booted Mustafa in the midsection. He bounced off of the ropes and dropped him with a swinging neckbreaker. New Jack was back up at this time and blasted Storm with a couple of punches. He whipped Storm into the ropes and nailed him with a back elbow on the return. Storm hit the mat as New Jack dropped a fist right onto Storm's throat. New Jack got back up and put his hands in the X position, but that didn't last long as Darling was back up and clobbered him from behind with a hockey stick. New Jack took a few steps forward, hit the ropes with his chest, and took a couple steps back right into another hockey stick shot by Darling. This one was the home run swing as New Jack fell to the mat. Darling rolled New Jack over and made the cover. 1... 2... NO! MUSTAFA MAKES THE SAVE! Mustafa pulled Darling to his feet and kicked him in the midsection. He grabbed ahold of Darling and dropped him with a piledriver. Mustafa rolled to the outside and grabbed a table and slid it into the ring. Mustafa got back into the ring and set the table up in the middle of the ring, but before he could do anything he was attacked by Storm. Storm started firing away with fists, but that was broken up by New Jack. New Jack and Mustafa pushed Storm into the corner and took turns just beating the hell out of him. Mustafa walked back over to the table and pushed it over to the corner. Mustafa walked back, picked Storm up on his shoulder, and dropped him with a running powerslam. Meanwhile Darling rolled to the outside and grabbed a chair. He rolled back into the ring and watched as New Jack climbed up to the top turnbuckle. New Jack made the X with his arms once more and dove off the turnbuckle. Darling had just enough time to throw the chair on top of Storm's skull. New Jack could do nothing about it as his head connected with the chair that was on top of Storm's head. Both New Jack and Storm felt the full impact of that move. They both rolled around the ring, grasping at their forehead. A closer look revealed that both Storm and New Jack were busted wide open. Mustafa was in a little bit of shock. He finally turned around only to get nailed with a superkick by Darling. Mustafa hit the mat as Darling walked over and dragged the table back into the middle of the ring. Darling ran over, got New Jack and pulled him into the center of the ring. He set him up between his legs...UP! DOWN!!! POWERBOMB THROUGH THE TABLE!!! As soon as New Jack hit the mat Darling jumped onto him and hooked the leg. 1... 2... 3!!! The Extremists defeated The Gangstas when Darling pinned New Jack after a power bomb in 0:11:11. Rating: ** "Natural Born Killaz" came to an abrupt halt as the match came to an end. Darling got to his feet, pushed Storm under the bottom ropes and to the outside, and helped him to his feet. Darling basically dragged an unconcsious and a very bloody Devon Storm to the back. Back in the ring Mustafa rolled over to check up on his partner who was still not moving. This was a very devastating match for both teams. As the crowd continues to cheer on both teams we goto the back where Sid Vicious is walking down a hallway. His face seems to have a confused look on it. The blood has dried on his chin giving him a very scary look. All of a sudden we see John Kronus run up from behind him. He taps Sid on the shoulder. Sid turns around and eats a savate kick and Sid hits the floor. Kronus gets on top of Sid and starts hammering away all the while screaming about him ruining his tag match tonight. JOHN KRONUS: YOU BASTARD! You ruined my tag match! You hurt my partner! Eventually a huge group of referees ran over and tore Kronus off of Sid. Kronus was dragged away, screaming, while Sid slowly got to his feet. He took a step towards where Kronus was taken before that confused look on his face came back and he turned, and continued on his way. We go back to the ring as it's time for our huge main event. "War Pigs" signalled the entrance of our World Champ and our TV Champ, Dean Malenko and Robert Thompson. They slowly walked down the aisle with the crowd booing them the whole way. This would be a big match for Malenko. He could get some big momentum if he were to pin or make either person submit. Benoit or Lyger. Either man is a big win. This match might even be bigger for Robert Thompson. It's arguable that Thompson won his feud with Lyger, but it was Lyger that is going onto face the World Champion. Maybe he can prove that the WWA made the wrong choice. "Song 2" meant it was Chris Benoit's turn. Chris Benoit took a step out of the entrance curtain and was met with a huge face reaction. Benoit's eyes never left the ring, however. Even though it isn't a World Title match, it still is a match with Malenko. Benoit walked to the ring with a purpose. He did not enter the ring, however. He awaited his partner. "Right Now" came over the speakers and Jyushin Lyger stepped out to another huge face reaction. This one might just have been bigger than Benoit's. Lyger is a man full of mixed emotions right now. The biggest night of his career is coming up on Sunday, but to get to that point he may have lost his best friend. He took a step towards the ring and stopped once more. He seemed to be taking in his surroundings. The man he hates with a passion. His arch-nemesis. Robert Thompson as in the ring. The man that he will be fighting for the World Title on Sunday was also in the ring. Another man he hates. And finally, his best friend, waiting outside the ring, but not with eyes of friendship. Not eyes of hatred either. Yes, Lyger is a man full of mixed emotions, but Benoit may be even more so. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dean Malenko & Robert Thompson vs Chris Benoit & Jyushin Lyger ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Benoit and Lyger met up at ringside, but didn't exchange words with one another. They got up on the ring apron and both entered the ring at the same time. The ref tried to tell them only one man was allowed in the ring, but both men seemed to ignore him. Malenko and Thompson were also both in the ring. Their eyes kept switching from Lyger to Benoit. Eventually Malenko left the ring. Benoit also left the ring. Lyger vs Thompson - let's get it on. Lyger and Thompson circled eachother for a moment before hooking up. The crowd was cheering and clapping as the two rivals met once again. Thompson got the upper hand as he pushed Lyger into the corner and started to hammer him with punches to the face. Lyger took a few of them before apparently exploding in anger and bursting out of the corner with a burst of punches that sent Thompson staggering backwards. Thompson was pushed back into the corner and Lyger whipped him into the opposite side of the ring. Lyger followed in with a koppo kick, but Thompson moved out of the way at the last second. Lyger hit the turnbuckles hard, but still got back to his feet. Thompson tried to take him down with a lariat, but Lyger ducked under and when Thompson turned around he was chopped several times by Lyger. Lyger whipped Thompson into the ropes and on the rebound caught Thompson with a huracanrana! Thompson went down, but Lyger didn't even waste time going for the cover. He ran over and made the tag to Benoit. Benoit entered the ring and caught Thompson as he was getting back to his feet. Benoit leveled him with three or four chops. Thompson's chest was already turning red as Benoit whipped Thompson into the ropes and hit him with another chop upon his return. This chop sent Thompson to the mat, but Robert got right back to his feet. Benoit grabbed Robert again, but this time Robert sent a knee into Benoit's midsection breaking the grip. Benoit bent over gasping for air and Robert capitalized by grabbing ahold of Benoit's head and ramming it into the mat. As Benoit tried to catch his bearings, Thompson rolled over and made the tag to Malenko. Malenko grabbed ahold of Benoit's leg and rammed it into the mat. And again. And again. Malenko had Benoit at his mercy and he wasn't going to let this oppurtunity go. Malenko pulled him over to the ropes, set the leg on the bottom rope and proceeded to jump high into the air and come crashing down onto the leg. He did this again and again. Benoit started to scream out in pain. Nobody can withstand the punishment Malenko can deliver onto a leg. Nobody. Malenko dragged Benoit back to the center of the ring and proceeded to drop his own knee onto Benoit's upper thigh. Benoit was trying to fight him off, but Malenko was an unstoppable force. Malenko hooked on a spinning toe hold and it looked like Benoit would be forced to give it up, but Lyger was there to make the save as he clobbered Malenko from behind. Within seconds Thompson entered the ring and tackled Lyger to the mat. The two men started hammering away at one another. Malenko turned around and started stomping at Lyger's body as Thompson continued to pound away. Thompson eventually got off of him and along with Malenko pulled Lyger to his feet. They proceeded to whip Lyger into the ropes, but Benoit broke up any attempt at a tag team move as he tackled Thompson from behind. This distracted Malenko enough for Lyger to go into the air and bring Malenko down with a spinning headscissors. Benoit pushed Thompson into the corner and started to goto work as he nailed him with chop after chop. Thompson took quite a few of these before pulling Benoit into the corner and escaping. Now it was Thompson's turn to fire away at Benoit, but that only worked for a couple of seconds as Lyger broke it up by attacking Thompson from behind. Malenko was back up, but the ref pushed him out of the ring. The ref also pulled Lyger away and got him outside. This left us with Thompson and Benoit. Benoit had the advantage and used it as he pulled Thompson into the middle of the ring and dropped him with a German Suplex. He held on, pulled Thompson back to his feet, and hit another. This was done one more time making 3 German Suplexes. This time Benoit held on with a bridge. 1... 2... NO! Kickout! Benoit got back to his feet and climbed up to the top turnbuckle. He dove off with his headbutt, aiming for Thompson, but hit the mat instead as Robert was able to roll out of the way. Benoit knocked himself silly with that move, but Thompson was still feeling the effects of the trio German Suplexes. Both men slowly started to crawl towards their corners and both made the hot tags. Lyger and Malenko both entered the ring, but Malenko ran right into a dropkick. Malenko got back to his feet, but was nailed with another dropkick. Malenko was a little woozy when he got back up, but was able to block a punch by Lyger and whipped Lyger into the ropes. When Lyger bounced off Malenko stuck his head down too early, however, and Lyger nailed him with a koppo kick. Malenko was completely out of it as Lyger picked Malenko back up, set him between his legs, HE HAS HIM UP FOR THE LYGER BOMB! THOMPSON PULLS MALENKO DOWN! Malenko just got his ass saved on that one. Lyger turned around only to get booted in the midsection and dropped with a Rocker Dropper. And now Benoit entered the ring and clotheslined the hell out of Thompson. Malenko turned around, but quickly was pushed into the corner. Thompson and Lyger both slowly got to their feet and started exchanging fists while Malenko whipped Benoit into the turnbuckles, but Benoit reversed it. Malenko hit the turnbuckles chest first and staggered back right into Benoit's grip. Benoit hooked him and brought him back with a German Suplex! Instead of going for the cover, however, he dropped his bridge and went up to the top turnbuckle. Lyger meanwhile got the upperhand on Thompson by sneaking in a kick to the midsection. Lyger grabbed ahold of him, HE'S GOT HIM UP!, Thompson slid down Lyger's back!!! Lyger turned around and got a kick to the midsection. Thompson hooks both arms! HE DROPS HIM WITH THE DOUBLE UNDERHOOK DDT! Benoit dives off the top turnbuckle and connects with Malenko! Benoit makes the cover at exactly the same time Thompson does! The referee looks from pinfall to pinfall before dropping down and slapping both hands on the mat! 1... 1... 2... 2... 3!!! 3!!!! Robert Thompson and Dean Malenko fought to a double pin with Chris Benoit and Jyushin Lyger in 0:15:39. Rating: **** 1/2 What in the hell? Thompson got the pin on Lyger while Benoit got the pin on Malenko? That's a first. Benoit and Thompson both got to their feet, but didn't argue with the ref. The ref was already exiting the ring and heading to the back. They both looked at eachother and didn't really know what to do. Thompson eventually crossed the ring and checked on Malenko while Benoit left the ring and walked to the back. Lyger eventually woke up and slid out of the ring. He started to walk to the back, his head shaking the whole way. He couldn't seem to believe what had happened. The same could be said about Malenko when he finally awoke. The two men that have complained about being left out of Contact's main event, the two men that think they were screwed out of their shot...well, they may have just proven their point as they have beaten the two men in the main event. Benoit over Malenko - Thompson over Lyger. Hmm.... |
