| (We don't waste any time with the opening video as we cut straight to the arena and the camera pans around the crowd. The fans are holding up signs and screaming at the top of their lungs. It quickly turns into boo's, however, when "War Pigs" start up and Dean Malenko comes out followed by Saturn and Sid. The World Title is still around his shoulder and the fans that didn't buy As Good As It Gets start boo'ing even louder upon realizing this. Malenko enters the ring between the ropes while Sid steps over them and Saturn sprinboards himself into the ring. Malenko grabs the mic from David Penzer who was in the ring. Penzer leaves the ring while Malenko lets the boo's sink in.) Dean Malenko: "I'm afraid it's true, Benoit couldn't get the job done and I am still the World Heavyweight Champion!!!" (With this Malenko raises the title above his head and the crowd goes into an uproar.) Malenko: "Your hero just didn't have enough in him to take this away from me. I will admit that he put up one hell of a fight, but I still walked away with this title and that means he is still my bitch. Everybody knows that it was supposed to be Benoit walking away at As Good As It Gets as the champion. He was suppposed to be the victorious hero, defeating the bad guy, and it would all be one big happy ending, but it didn't work out that way. Why? Why didn't it work out that way? Because, simply put, I am better than Chris Benoit will ever be. You all can boo me all you want, but it's the truth and I proved it last night! Now, there are a couple of guys that apparently are wanting to get their hands on me and my title. The first guy is somebody we all know. Ken Shamrock, I know you like to blame Benoit for what happened to your brother, but the truth is that it was all me. I loved every minute of breaking Frank's leg. Call me sadistic if you want, but at the pop of his leg I had goosebumps all over my body. You bring all that fury and you get in the ring with me. Not only will I beat you, but I will break your leg just like I did Frank's. And of course, the new superstar, the person who is going to become the big thing in the WWA, Raven. Raven, I don't know what you're thinking, but this is my playground. I rule over the WWA, and I don't appreciate people showing up without being invited. Raven, if you want a piece of me then all you got to do is say so because I can't think of one thing that I would rather do than kick your ass. ("Come Out and Play" and here comes Raven! Raven walks halfway down the aisle with a mic in hand. Brian Lee, Bam Bam Bigelow, and Nova all walk behind him and stay with their leader.) Raven: Dean, the sins you h..... Malenko: Oh, shut your mouth, Levy. I am not up for your bullshit. You get your ass in the ring, I came here for a fight and I want it now. Raven: Believe me, you'll get it. But I think the higher-ups would rather us wait until later tonight, probably in the main event. ("Song 2" and Benoit steps from the curtain with another mic!) Chris Benoit: Dean, I don't know what you're thinking, but you are definately not done with me so if I were you I would stop myself from getting other people pissed while I am still aiming for that title. Dean: I pinned your shoulders to the mat last night, Chris. You shouldn't even be out here. (And here comes Ken Shamrock who is in the crowd!) Ken Shamrock: Raven, I don't know what the hell you are doing here, but you best stay out my business. Last night I had Dean and Chris right where I wanted them. I was delivering a promise I had given to all my fans and my brother and you interrupted it. That doesn't make me too happy with you. (And here comes Commissioner Tully Blanchard from the entrance way and he stands next to Benoit.) Tully: Okay, personally I would love to hear all four of you ramble on for the rest of this show, but we don't have time for that. So to settle this I have signed a match for later on tonight. It will be, Dean Malenko versus Raven versus Chris Benoit versus Ken Shamrock in a non-title match, elimination rules! So everybody shut up and get your asses to the back. (All four men seem happy with this as they all slowly head to the back. Benoit first, Raven following him, then Malenko. Ken Shamrock goes back into the crowd and appears to leave through some sort of door in the back of the arena.) Well, we now know what our main event will be here tonight. Also tonight we will see the Lightweight Title finally decided as the Round Robin tournament has been completely thrown out of the window and instead a 10 man Battle Royal has been put in it's place. Plus the new tag team champions, Bam Bam Bigelow and Brian Lee, will be defending their tag titles against Sid and Saturn. It is going to be a very exciting Monday night. Our first match is going to be the Battle Royal for the Lightweight Title. (Before we can get to that though we quickly cut to the back where Jeff Hardy is talking to his brother Matt.) Jeff Hardy: Dammit, Matt. Where the hell were you last night? If it weren't for Kidman I would of been killed last night by those psychos! Matt: I'm sorry, Jeff. I just couldn't do it. I just can't make myself get into a hardcore match. All that blood, the chairs, tables. I wouldn't be able to stand it. Jeff: Matt, I don't give a damn if you wouldn't be able to handle it or not. I can't forgive you for this and I don't think I can team with you again either. (With that Jeff walks off and Matt looks very depressed.) Well, it looks as if the Hardy Boyz may be never team again. Definately a sad day in tag team wrestling. But we do have a Battle Royal to take care of and a Lightweight Champion to crown. The participants walked down in this order: Billy Kidman Juventud Guerrera Dragon Kid Jeff Hardy Jyushin Lyger (w/neck brace) Nova Brian Christopher Scott Taylor Spike Dudley Matt Hardy -------------------------------------------------------------- Battle Royal for the Lightweight Title -------------------------------------------------------------- Before the bell rang Matt walked over to Jeff and they talked for a short while. The bell rang and Matt and Jeff were quickly all over Taylor while Kidman and the Dragon Kid went at it. Spike, Christopher, and Juventud went at it as did Lyger and Nova. Not a whole lot of high flying to start things off as there were just too many bodies. Lyger wasn't 100% and Nova took advantage of this by going right after his neck. Taylor and Christopher seemed to join forces as they beat Juventud down. Spike went after both Hardy's, but it was a 2 on 1 situation and soon the Hardy's had Spike on the mat. Our first elimination came when Christopher decided to leave Taylor with Juventud and go after Kidman. Taylor took this time to prop Juventud up against the ropes and then charged at him with a clothesline, but Juventud ducked and Taylor went flying over the top rope. x J. Guerrera threw out S. Taylor after a back bodydrop in 0:01:56 Things settled down once again. Christopher and the Dragon Kid double teamed Kidman while Juventud went over and pulled Jeff Hardy off of Spike and those two brawled. Matt kept Spike on the mat and Nova continued to dominate Lyger. Spike made a little comeback on Matt as he saw an opening and low blowed Matt. He quickly got to his feet and got himself away from Matt which allowed him a little rest. Nova dropped Lyger in a piledriver and then did a little dance. The crowd obviously was less than enthused. The Dragon Kid saw Spike just standing there and decided to go over and fight it out with him which left Christopher all alone with Kidman. Kidman took the advantage and soon was on offense. The Dragon Kid meanwhile blasted Spike from behind with a dropkick that sent Spike rushing forward and he fell over the top rope. x Dragon Kid threw out Spike in 0:05:53 At this time Matt, Jeff, and Kidman all got themselves seperated from their current fights and joined as a force to start taking down the other 5 competitors. The Hardys and Kidman kept all 5 men down for a couple of minutes and it was non-stop action. A shocker came though when Kidman turned his back on Matt and Matt nailed him from behind with a dropkick and Kidman staggered forward and he tumbled over the top rope and to the floor. Kidman, the top choice to win the Lightweight Title, has been eliminated!!! x M. Hardy threw out Kidman after a dropkick in 0:07:04 Once Jeff saw what had happened he quickly went over and confronted Matt. Matt just shrugged his shoulders, but Kidman was pissed and he tried to re-enter the ring, but the referee's held him back and dragged him to the back. Jeff and Matt continued to double team everybody else, but Jeff was alot more cautious this time around Matt. They soon had Christopher on the ropes and it didn't take long for Jeff to eliminate him. x J. Hardy threw out Christopher in 0:07:40 Things slowed way down once again after Christopher's elimination. Jeff went at it with Lyger in a very exciting combo, Matt and Dragon Kid went at it as now Dragon Kid was the top favorite to win the battle royal, and this left Juventud and Nova together. Nova surprised quite a few people by staying in so long as he has never been more than a lackey. But Nova came into his own tonight and proved he can go with the other top lightweights in the world. Still, Nova needs some more work as he was eventually eliminated by Juventud after a flying dropkick. x J. Guerrera threw out Nova after a flying dropkick in 0:11:36 Lyger was also surprising some people by still being in there. If he were 100% then he would be the top favorite to win this thing, but with his neck injury he was excpected to be eliminated at the very beginning. Lyger and Jeff brawled back and forth for a short while with Jeff getting the upper hand. Jeff even put Lyger down with a bodyslam and went to the top for his Senton Bomb, but Lyger moved out of the way at the last moment and Jeff hit nothing but mat. Lyger tried for an elimination right after the move, but Jeff just wouldn't go over. Matt meanwhile was getting his ass handed to him courtesy of the Dragon Kid. That is until Juventud came over to apparently help out. Dragon Kid saw this out of the corner of his eye and turned around and nailed Juvy with a vicious dropkick to the knee. Juvy's leg came right out from under him and he was grasping it in pain. The Dragon Kid quickly picked Juvy up and hurled him over the top rope and we were down to 4. x Dragon Kid threw out J. Guerrera after a dropkick to the knee in 0:16:02 Matt ran over and attacked Lyger causing Lyger to drop Jeff onto the apron. Jeff quickly slid back into the ring and helped Matt with the attack on Lyger. The Dragon Kid wasn't far behind as he came over and also helped in on the attack of Lyger. Lyger though still had something left in him as he battled back and knocked all 3 down to the mat. Jeff took this time to pair off with the Dragon Kid and left Matt to battle with Lyger. For several minutes all 4 men put on a great aerial display, especially for a battle royal. Jeff even went up top and hit several variations of the moonsault. Lyger made a fatal mistake in the match as he went for a frankensteiner on Matt Hardy, but Matt caught him and dropped him with a powerbomb, but instead of dropping him on his back, Matt dropped him straight on his neck. Lyger was out, and it took all of Matt's strength to pull Lyger up to his feet and toss him over. x M. Hardy threw out Lyger in 0:22:27 Several doctors and officials quickly ran out to help Lyger to the back as it was feared that he may have further injured his neck. Matt has basically dominated the battle royal thus far as he has eliminated two of the top names. Matt wasted too much time gloating about his elimination though and the Dragon Kid, who had just nailed Jeff with a superkick, attacked Matt from behind and hit a brutal Tombstone that sent Matt into loony land. Dragon Kid picked Matt up and threw him to the outside leaving just him and Jeff Hardy. x Dragon Kid threw out M. Hardy after a Tombstone in 0:24:50 Jeff charged the Kid, but the Kid ducked under and tried to back bodydrop Jeff over, but Jeff landed on the ring apron. The Kid turned aroud only to be blasted with a right hand. Jeff then springboarded to the top rpoe and came sailing off with a missile dropkick. The Kid went flying back and landed in the middle of the ring. Jeff picked the Kid up and whipped him into the ropes and on the rebound caught him with a back elbow taking the Kid right back off of his feet. Jeff then went up top once more and this time went for a 450 Splash, but the Kid moved out of the way at the last moment. The Dragon Kid quickly went to the top rope and patiently waiting for Jeff to get back to his feet. As soon as Jeff was in position the Kid came sailing off with the Dragon Rana, but Jeff caught him!!! He holds him up and carries him over to the ropes and drops him to the outside!!! JEFF HARDY HAS WON THE BATTLE ROYAL!!! x J. Hardy threw out Dragon Kid in 0:29:44 No-Countout-No-DQ-10-Man Battle Royal: Jeff Hardy won a 10-man Battle Royal: Rating: ** 3/4 (Jeff Hardy won the WWA Lightweight Title.) As Jeff was given the title Matt Hardy ran out to help celebrate apparently. Billy Kidman wasn't far behind. Matt came up to give Jeff a hug, but Jeff pushed him away and walked to the back with Kidman. Matt was left in the ring looking on. Well, we have our first Lightweight champion and I know that Jeff will be a great champion. Our next match is going to be for the tag titles and promises to be a real slobberknocker. Sid and Saturn requested this match right after As Good As It Gets and they were given the match. Brian Lee and Bam Bam Bigelow had no problems with this match and have even been quoted as saying that they were looking forward to it. How can you look forward to facing Sid Vicious and Perry Saturn? ----------------------------------------------------------------- Brian Lee & Bam Bam Bigelow vs Sid & Saturn Tag Titles on the line! ----------------------------------------------------------------- Surprisingly this match started off with traditional tag rules as Brian Lee and Perry Saturn started the match off. They locked up and Brian Lee used his power to push Saturn into the turnbuckle. He tried to give him a forearm, but Saturn ducked under and escaped from the corner. Saturn blasted Lee as he turned around with a lariat, but the big man continued to stand. Saturn nailed him with an elbowsmash which seemed to of hurt the big man a little. Saturn didn't waste this oppurtunity as he bounced off the ropes and came back with a spin kick to take Brian Lee down to the mat. Saturn got right back to his feet and picked Lee up off the mat by his hair and then propped him up for what looked to either be a piledriver or a powerbomb, but Lee blocked it and countered it with a backdrop. Saturn popped right back to his feet, but ran right into Lee who picked him up and dropped him on the top rope with a Hotshot. Lee made the quick tag to Bigelow. Bam Bam entered the ring and dropped Saturn with a headbutt and followed it up with a diving headbutt. Bigelow got back to his feet and picked Saturn up. He whipped Saturn into the turnbuckle and charged in with a splash, but Saturn moved out of the way and Bigelow hit nothing but a padded turnbuckle. Bigelow staggered right back into Saturn who hooked him and brought him over with a release German suplex that looked devastating. Saturn slowly got to his feet and made a diving tag to get Sid in the ring. Sid came in a house of fire and blasted Bigelow with a boot to the face. Bigelow went down like a sack of bricks while Brian Lee stepped over the top rope and entered the ring. Lee and Sid went face to face and had a few words for eachother before they came to blows and the crowd errupted. Sid seemed to be getting the upper hand until Lee blocked a punch and came back with one of his own that took Sid down. Sid slowly got to his feet, using the ropes as leverage, but Lee charged in with a clothesline that sent both men over the top rope. This left Bigelow and Saturn alone inside the ring once again. Both men got to the feet at about the same time, but it was Saturn connecting with the first move, a savate kick, which took Bigelow off of his feet. Saturn went down for the cover and hooked the leg. 1... 2... kickout! Saturn picked Bigelow up and set him on the top turnbuckle. He climbed up with him as well and then belly to belly superplexed Bigelow to the mat! The crowd was, surprisingly, cheering for Saturn after that move. Saturn went up top once again and came sailing off with the flying elbowdrop from the Heavens. He made the cover and the referee was in position to make the count. 1... 2... kickout!!! Meanwhile, on the outside, Brian Lee and Sid Vicious continued their brawling. Sid took the advantage and whipped Lee into the guardrail and charged in with a big boot that sent Lee up and over the guardrail and into the first row. Sid reached over the guardrail and pulled Lee, by his hair, to a standing position. Sid then pulled Lee back over the guardrail. He planted him with a kick to the midsection and followed it up with a faceslam into the hard concrete. Sid walked over to the ring and lifted the ring skirt up and reached underneath the ring and used his hands to search around. He soon foud what he was looking for as he pulled out a table. The crowd was easily amused. Sid set the table up and then went back to Lee. He picked him up and propped him up between his legs. POWERBOMB THROUGH THE TABLE!!! Brian Lee went crashing through the table and the crowd went crazy. Sid didn't waste any time by playing up to the crowd, however, as he re-entered the ring and blasted with an axehandle on Bigelow who was starting to make a comeback on Saturn. Sid and Saturn whipped Bigelow into the ropes and on the rebound Sid nailed a big boot while Saturn hit a spear at the same time that crumpled Bigelow up. Saturn was ready to make the cover, but instead Sid told Saturn to pull Bigelow to his feet. Saturn did as he was told and moved out of the way. Sid grabbed ahold of Bigelow by his neck and lifted Bigelow up over his head and... CHOKE SLAM!!! Sid puts his foot on Bigelow's chest and the referee falls to the mat to make the count. 1... 2... NO! Brian Lee slides into the ring and pushes Sid breaking up the count! Brian Lee is still out of it and Saturn quickly grabs ahold of him and whips him into the ropes and jumps in the air and catches Lee with a frankensteiner on his rebound. Saturn jumps to his feet and springboards himself onto the top turnbuckle and then comes sailing off with another flying elbowdrop from the Heavens only this time onto Brian Lee. Sid tells Saturn to lift Lee back up and Saturn once again does as he is told. Sid grabs Lee around the neck and prepares to deliver another choke slam, but Bigelow breaks this one up by low blowing Sid from behind! Sid falls to the mat, holding his groin. Saturn charges Bigelow, but Bigelow catches him and lifts him in the air with a Gorilla Press! Bigelow doesn't waste any time by checking to see which side of the crowd wants him as he literally throws him into the crowd on the right side. Saturn hits extremely hard onto some chairs that seem to break his fall a little, but not that much. The match isn't over yet though. Lee is back to his feet and grabs ahold of Sid and pulls him to his feet. Lee then grabs ahold of Sid by his neck and...PRIME TIME SLAM! Lee isn't done though as he picks Sid up and whips him into Bam Bam Bigelow. Bigelow catches him and lifts him up onto his shoulder and drops ihm with GREETINGS FROM ASBURY PARK! Bigelow makes an arrogant cover and the referee makes the count. 1... 2... 3!!! Brian Lee and Bam Bam Bigelow defeated Sid Vicious and Perry Saturn when Bigelow pinned Vicious with the Greetings from Asbury Park in 0:10:50. Rating: -* (Brian Lee and Bam Bam Bigelow retained the WWA World Tag Team Titles.) Brian Lee and Bam Bam Bigelow retain the tag titles in what was surprisingly a pretty good matchup (ignore the TNM rating). Brian Lee and Bigelow are given their titles and they raise them above their heads while Saturn drags Sid to the back. Definately a major blow in the war for Malenko and his group. The fans were getting just a bit restless though as they were waiting for the big 4 way dance and it is next!!! ----------------------------------------------- Dean Malenko vs Chris Benoit vs Raven vs Ken Shamrock ----------------------------------------------- Things started off fast and brutal. All four men had an issue with each other so we didn't see any pairing off at the beginning. All four men just tried to beat the crap out of eachother. It eventually turned into Malenko and Benoit beating the hell out of eachother while Shamrock and Raven were trading punches. Shamrock and Benoit both blocked punches from their adversary at the same time and then clobbered them with one of their own. Raven and Malenko both fell to the mat, but instead of taking that advantage, Benoit and Shamrock went after eachother. They both started pounding eachother, but Benoit got the upper hand and clotheslined Shamrock off of his feet. Benoit took the time to let the cheers sink in as he was the last person standing, but that was cut short as Raven attacked him from behind and threw him to the outside. Raven went to the outside as well and picked Benoit up and thew him into the guardrail. Benoit staggered off the guardrail only to be brought down by a drop toehold and Benoit hit his head on the concrete. Raven picked Benoit up and threw him over the guardrail and went over as well. Malenko and Shamrock weren't going to be left out as they exited the ring and also climbed over the guardrail. Malenko clobbered Raven from behind and Raven fell to the mat, but Malenko didn't get the chance to take the upper hand as Shamrock blasted him from behind with a chair. That was all the ref was going to take as he called for the bell. Chris Benoit battled Raven, Ken Shamrock, and Dean Malenko to a double DQ in 0:04:30. Rating: * All 4 continued to brawl around on the outside with Shamrock getting the upper hand. Shamrock nailed Raven with a belly to belly suplex on the floor as we faded out. |
