| WWA Monday Night Terror 1/18/00 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Chris Benoit vs Robert Thompson vs Billy Kidman ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Tonight the show started off with Chris Benoit, Robert Thompson, and Billy Kidman all doing battle in a triangle match. It was pretty obvious that Benoit was going to take the win as he simply dominated both men. However at the latter stages of the match out came Too Cold Scorpio and Frank Shamrock. Upon seeing this, Benoit ran out and started brawling with them and was sooned joined by Heavyweight Champion Dean Malenko. Those 4 men brawled around the entrance way while Kidman surprised Thompson with a frankensteiner which got him the 3 count. A big win for Kidman. Triangle Match: Billy Kidman defeated Robert Thompson and Chris Benoit when Kidman pinned R. Thompson after a Frankensteiner in 0:16:07. Rating: ** 1/2 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- The Giant vs Too Cold Scorpio ---------------------------------------------------------------------- The next match was scheduled to be Jyushin Lyger versus Too Cold Scorpio, but as Lyger was walking down the aisle he was attacked by The Nation! They beat him within an inch of his life and The Gladiator finished the attack with an Awesome Bomb onto the concrete. The Nation then left while Lyger was carried out on a stretcher. Too Cold Scorpio got on the mic and said that he still wanted a match so somebody get their ass out there now. ENTER THE GIANT!!! The Giant stormed down the aisle and was being followed by Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko. The Giant entered the ring and the match was on. Scorpio tried his best, he really did! But it was The Giant walking away with the win after hitting a legdrop. Afterwards Benoit, Malenko, and The Giant all laid the boots to Scorpio and The Giant even hit his devastating Choke Slam. Finally Frank Shamrock ran out and broke it up and helped Scorpio to the back. The Giant pinned Too Cold Scorpio after a legdrop in 0:07:08. Rating: * (Jyushin Lyger no-showed.) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- The Head Hunters vs The Mexican Jumping Beans ---------------------------------------------------------------------- The next match was basically a squash for The Head Hunters as they simply dominated The Mexican Jumping Beans. The Head Hunters defeated The Mexican Jumping Beans when Head Hunter #2 pinned Guzman after a flying senton in 0:11:20. Rating: * 1/4 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Luck of the Draw Match (G!L!W!) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- We then had a "Luck of the Draw" match in which poor Kid Guzman was chosen. He had just gotten his ass kicked by both Head Hunters and now had to come out and wrestle another person. However, it was more even then we thought as his opponent was Billy Kidman, who had just wrestled two other men. The match was very even, but wasn't the best they could put on since both were exhausted. It finally ended with Kidman hitting his frankensteiner to score the pinfall. [Random Draw Match]: Billy Kidman pinned Kid Guzman after a Frankensteiner in 0:12:42. Rating: 1/2* ---------------------------------------------------------------------- D-Lo Brown vs David Taylor ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Next up it was D-Lo battling it out with David Taylor. D-Lo picked up a rather easy win, but afterwards just got his ass kicked by Ken Shamrock. Ken snuck up from behind and bashed him with a chair. He continued this for awhile until D-Lo was unconcsious and then he hooked on the Ankle Lock Submission!!! The Gladiator and Owen Hart stormed down the aisle, but Owen was hit by somebody in the crowd...it was Jyushin Lyger, taped ribs and all! Lyger jumped over the guardrail and started to beat the crap out of Owen. The Gladiator continued on his way to the ring and entered. Ken Shamrock let go of D-Lo and got right in the face of The Gladiator. The two exchanged words until The Gladiator landed the first blow and the match was on. D-Lo Brown pinned David Taylor with the Low Down in 0:18:17. Rating: ** 3/4 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- The Gladiator vs Ken Shamrock ---------------------------------------------------------------------- That first blow was deadly as The Gladiator kept the advantage for the entire match. He finally was preparing to end it with his Awesome Bomb, but Shamrock somehow snuck in a small package...1....2....3!!!! Ken Shamrock had just small packaged and beat The Gladiator!!! Ken Shamrock ran out of there as fast as possible along with Jyushin Lyger. The Gladiator got up and started cussing before planting the ref with a kick to the stomach and hitting a Running Awesome Bomb onto him. He then left without helping D-Lo or Owen up. Ken Shamrock pinned The Gladiator after a small package in 0:14:50. Rating: *** 1/2 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Dean Malenko vs Goldberg WWA World Heavyweight Title Match ---------------------------------------------------------------------- We then had the main event where Dean Malenko was going to face Goldberg. Malenko and Goldberg went at it for the longest time and it was even a pretty good matchup. All good things come to an end, however, as did this match. Destruction came out at the end and distracted Goldberg while Benoit came out and distracted the referee. This gave The Giant an oppurtunity to come out, through the crowd, and grab Goldberg from behind and drop him with a headbutt. He then picked him up, grabbed him by the neck and plowed him into the mat with the Choke Slam. The Giant then left with Benoit while Malenko hooked on the Texas Cloverleaf onto the unconcsious Goldberg. The ref had no choice but to stop the match and give the win to Malenko. Malenko took his title and left while Destruction entered the ring and started to beat on Goldberg. He then hit Pure Destruction before leaving. Dean Malenko made Bill Goldberg submit to the Texas Cloverleaf in 0:26:13. Rating: ** 1/4 |
