Josh comes by his talent naturally -- his mother is also an accomplished artist. However, he has worked diligently to develop this talent through years of training, study and practice. He studied at both American River College and the Art Institute of Phoenix. He has taken classes in many different forms of art, including figure drawing, 2D animation, custom wall designs, sculpting and painting.
Josh has already had a variety of projects as a freelance artist. He has done cover art for Mama's Gravy, a Sacramento area band, and the book Valley of the Shadow by Earl and Naoma Hardy. Other projects have included business brochures/fliers, book illustrations, personal portraits, teaching art in both group and private settings, wall murals, and storyboarding. Josh's work is also featured in the book, Exploring Character Design by Stephen Missal and Kevin Hedgpeth.
Josh is interested in many art mediums and has had experience working with watercolor, oil, charcoal, colored pencil, marker, and airbrush. He also is proficient in Adobe Photoshop and Corel Painter.
Josh lives in the Sacramento area with his wife and two children and will be welcoming another child in Spring 2007. In addition to art, he enjoys developing his own story and character ideas for comic books and movies. His interests include sports, reading and history.
