| Excellent. The even-number rule still works. Star Trek's even number movies have always been much better than the odd number ones (with the possible exception of The Search for Spock). And Nemesis is no exception; it is filled with action, limited character development, and a few easter-eggs for the hard-core Trekies. In other words, an entertaining sci0fi flick that knows not to take itself too seriously, but doesn't make fun of its audience, either. Stewart brings a refreshing seriousness to his role, as always, and the rest of the Enterprise crew is as good as ever. Essentially, this is a longer, slightly more elaborate, and significantly more expensive version of the TV serious. If you are a Next Generation fan, you'll love it, and if you're simply a fan of well-constructed science fiction, you'll certainly enjoy it. And keep an eye out for Tom Hardy, who does a fine job as the conflicted, nearly likeable villain. This film definitely does not venture into realms "where no man has gone before," but it is a refreshing chapter in an already excellent story. | ||||||
