| Tuesday, June 1st I was originally going to head down to the student screenings today, but I stayed home to study instead. This happens every year; Im cruising, with no worries. And then, when the tests get close, I completely freeze up and become paranoid. So, instead of watching the student films, I stayed home with my books.
Wednesday, June 2nd Took the editing final today, and it wasnt too bad. I think I could have done better, I think. In fact, I was able to think of the answers to several sets of questions as soon as I got out of class; isnt that always the way? But I did have 150 points to work with, so I suspect everything finished off just fine. And I learned quite a bit that should come in very helpful. Im not sure I want to edit my own stuff when I shoot it, but I think its incredibly helpful to know what the editor is doing, and what sort of footage he needs. Especially if I want to direct. Thursday, June 3rd Last day of the semester. Tom spent all class lecturing on how to get produced in the business. Or make that lecturing on how hard it is to get produced. Not as discouraging as I was expecting, though, actually. Plus, after class, he said that he would love to see my draft of the feature idea I was working on when I come back in the fall. I sort of doubt Ill have it done by then, but Ill definitely have to get in touch with him once things are more polished. Hes very good at detecting problems quickly. And hes read a ton of stuff as well, so his comments are very helpful. And thatll do it for the summer. Bye, LACC! |
