| 1995 saw the first British World Rally Champions: Colin McRae and Co-Driver Derek Ringer. It was an event that sparked International interest in the WRC. A larger than life figure, Colin McRae, had a driving style that was all or nothing. This attracted fans world wide to come see the flying Scot. 2007 Colin McRae met a sad and untimely death in a helicopter accident near his home in Scotland. I'm breaking out the modeling tools in order to do a tribute to the 1995 World Champ. Let's hope I can finish this one. |

| First order of buisness is to clean-up the Bodyshell. I'm using the Hasegawa Impreza as the base kit. The Hasegawa body has "soft" details, therefore I need to rescribe the lines and sharpen-up body. The Front and Rear bumpers will be removed, cleaned up, and replaced. The same with the hood. Headlamps removed, I don't like the look of the Hasegawa headlamps. The "clear" part of the headlamp will be replaced with the Tamiya Impreza(1998) headlamps; they will be re-shaped to have the correct contours of the Grp A. car. The detail is much finer on the Tamiya parts. This goes for the tail lamps as well. I'll open-up the tail lamps and "fit" the Tamiya clear parts instead. Inorder to achieve the correct "look" of the Grp A car, I'll enlarge the wheel wells a bit. Although the Hasegawa Kit is a nice shape, these things will help improve the overall finished look of the 1995 Champion's ride. |

| The first thing to do is open-up the hood vents. I'll be adding a tiny bit of engine detail that can be seen through those openings of the closed hood. I sanded them down from the underside; then carefully opened the slats with a sharp knife. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
