MOUND OF YESTERDAY (Note:  The original text was in Filipino written 27th to 28th of February year 1988, and was included in the manuscript of "Rebolusyon 1990" by the same author.  It was titled "SA PUNTOD NG KAHAPON" (Mound of Yesterday, as translated) and respectfully dedicated to Juanito and Celia, characters who were doomed lovers but not on their own making on my very first short story, year 1987.  Sounds like "Romeo and Juliet"? I doubt it, I write poorly and way too far than the poorest Shakespeare.  Unfortunately, the short story did not survive to this day, and the author have no idea where it was published or where it was placed, if not misplaced, and fortunately, the poem survived.  The following translation was made 7th of April year 2000, twelve years one month and ten days after the original text.  The translation decidedly done in its "best" format to retain some poetic sense if ever there was.)
Facade of memories accented; Happiness height where grief come                                                                             BACK
Fizzle script on surf was cloud;Veneer of passion was such a mirage
Voice of breeze of pacific wind; Waves warbling that  was hopeful
Memories that was sweet, and painful; Memories that was cared, just memories...

Sufferings' cradle and of thousand pains, All yesterdays were whence of bliss,
Slumbering moments will awaken,  Environs hue are lifeful roses
Resting hearts lay and leisured, Lost loves that was affectionate
Recalled after, and be shall raise; Heaven's grace to bosom shall live.

Could never forget the unusual dream,  And illusions could never cease
How attenuated, how tormenting, True affections shall never fade
Even was immured, and confused; And buried in abysmal, in hollow
Can be breath still, and anew refresh, And attractive like a blossom.

Beloved, dearest. Ah, beloved! Whilst love wrap these lovers
Could never cease, and pass away, Wrath was none, and no anger
Kind, caring, and tender loving, None of the sorrows on milieu
Leitmotif of love in ascension, Beatitudes of morn shall ensign.

Sanctified devotion for the only flame, None could equal in perpetuity,
May fall in love and fond of others, The wishes and dreams shall be only one,
Old times shall be taken to the heart, The most embittered love unbequeath,
Love that was lost an opened book, Faded leaf shall a fragrant name!

If yesterdays again shall be relived, If benumbed could again be witness
Whoever shall know the life is hope, Rustles, sounds, motions become ardor
The breathe shall be the angels' hymn, Lips shall whisper a poetic verse
Quite befitting, quiet in color, The dusky sol shall again in laughter.

Was there a pain more than this, Left alone, and heart bursting
It could be more blithe in days of war, If sweet was love that ease the soul
Ah! Grievous was love, writhe and mean, Shall be drowned on every drop
But just if tears were there flowing, The fondness remain to be that love!

Departed ardor, to come out of sleep, Offer to shrine shall be faint mirth
If in every lightning was the thunder, My every lament shall be my love...
Oh! Dearest was the sky in highness peak, Whatever shall do can never be reached
Beyond the clouds if ever we meet,  What shall I say but I love you Sweet.

Beloved... beloved... the name in thy name, Deity of charm that was most desired
Just a memory of each yesterday, Yesterday that was fast vanishing
Deep in memoirs was the cuddly love, But drench by tears that flowing
Beloved... beloved stay in the heart, Seeds that will bloom on the morrow.

The old times, now, and afterwards, Sorrow in the heart that was forge
If fortunate that life shall be dawning, Shall drench by smile with tears alight
To enclose in nothing but the greatest love, Cherished bough weaved by the arms
This little bud when the morrow comes, Shall be just the same old lost loves.

Vow I made that forever shall be, Just you, only you, dearest but you
Could never forget true promises, Avow it could be that forever must be
If those yesterdays shall be remembered, Words that spoken was honorableness
To go just with and to love others, The past bygones shall be unequalled.

Pool in a stream or in the high seas, Distant stars or just the clouds
Cradle of infants or the universe, Shall pass away and shall expire
Fade too I shall and shall be dead, But still you in heart on my rebirth!
Forever it shall be just only you, The throb of heart, the thought of the mind.

O
h! Damned by heaven, was darkening, Struggle of heart most determined
Love that was greater than everything, Life shall I give and be giving
Oh! Accurse of storm, and sword of lightning, Your deadly thump grant to my being
That my beloved dear on lifeless stay, To lie beside love - beloved, beloved...
