FIRST GENERATION

1. * John GRAVES⁽¹⁾ was born about 1605 in ENGLAND. Immigrated from England with his wife and settled in Concord, Massachusetts in 1635. He belonged to the church of which Rev. Peter Bulkley was teacher. He was one of the signers of the petition to the General Court of Massachusetts in 1643 in favor of Ambrose Martin, and in 1644 his name was attached to a document pledging its signers, which included nearly every head of a family in Concord, to the support of the government.
It is possible that John Graves was from Kent, England, since many of the early settlers of Concord were.
