Sesser Historic Opera House 4/10/04

Heys, this show happened. But, not as expected. Citrus Kill couldn't do it, and neither could Solafide. So we asked Right Hand Mand and Kirby and the Titans to, and RHM could. Then we got The Reply. Then, RHM realized they couldn't. So we got both The Vibes and Dumb Idiotic Cartoon Killing Septet. And D.I.C.K.S. didn't wanna open, so me and Donald decided to do an acoustic mini-set at the beginning. Also, a few hours before the show began, another band (called The Offseason) came along and decided to play between our set and The Reply. So, it went a little like this:
The Love Squeegees acoustic, D.I.C.K.S., The Love Squeegees electric, The Offseason, The Reply, and The Vibes (who were just...great!...really, all of the other performers were in top form ! quite a show)

So, day of the show, Donald and I call up Zac, and he informs us that he's had an emergency situation come up and can't make the show. What are we gonna do? Well, at the last minute, we got Aaron Hall, the ivory tinkler from the Vibes, and a great, stand-up guy, to do the drumming. He hadn't heard a lot of the songs before, so we just kinda jammed for a bit.

Acoustic Set (just one acoustic guitar this time):
Hey Ya - Outkast
Quiznos Subs Commercial
Island In The Sun - Weezer
Green Eyes - Coldplay (I played guitar on this 'en...I hit a bad note in the second chorus, and decided to do it again the next time that note came up, so as to make it look like the first was on purpose...then the mood was just...so I added an additional couple lines at the end to make it seem like the song was a nechrophiliac ballad)
Times Like These - Foo Fighters (Donald looks at me and says 'I don't know this one anymore!'...but we did it anyway, both of us just fumbling...I ended up making up words about how Zac wasn't there and how D.I.C.K.S. didn't wanna open, and just random craziness)

Electric Set (approximately..what I can remember):
Communication Breakdown - Led Zeppelin
I Believe In A Thing Called Love - The Darkness
Gone Away - The Offspring
Honkey Tonke Jam
Comedown - Bush (Donald, who does lead vocal on it (his only one in the set) says to me "you're singing!"...so I did...sorta)
Led Zeppelin/other medley/jam (totally improved...incorporated "Houses of the Holy", "Whole Lotta Love", "Heartbreaker"...and then some random stuff like AC/DC's "Back In Black" (they make me vomit), B.O.C.'s "(Don't Fear) The Reaper", and it all ended with "18 And Life" by Skid Row..i don't remember if there were others)
Are You Gonna Be My Girl - Jet
"Red Light Boogie" Jam
Hashpipe - Weezer
Smells Like Teen Spirit - Nirvana (interpolated "96 Tears" by ? and the Mysterians)

All the songs were really raw and loose...we didn't really worry about arrangements or...anything else...we just goofed off really...threw out candy and tried to put on a good, energetic show...

Admission was $3, it was a the 10th, and the whole thing started a little after 7:00 or so..here's my original notice about it:
