As they mentioned on the show, Bishop Yanta of Amarillo has already been working hard against abortion. When he came to the diocese there were 19 planned parenthood centers in the area and today, thanks to his efforts and campaign of prayer (saying the rosary outside these places) there are now only 3 left. If this new community will be anything like Priests for Life has been, I am confident that we can expect great things from them. Abortion is an issue which has few if any equals in society today. We can point to a multitude of problems in our society today, however as bad as all of these are none can compare to the absolute evil of the mass murder of innocent children simply because of issues of "convenience". Today, one of every four babies is killed because of abortion -the numbers of this cruelty would make the careers of Stalin, Hitler, Mao and Pol Pot pale in comparison. It must be stopped and it can be stopped.
One of the things I have always admired about Fr Frank and Priests for Life is how strongly they encourage people to get involved, to do whatever we can whenever we can, and to vote for pro-life politicians. I have taken alot of heat on the subject of voting, but the simple fact is if we don't vote in pro-life politicians we will never be able to undo all of the damage that has been done since the passing of Roe vs. Wade. The pro-death crowd are certainly doing all they can to influence the political process. Pro-abortion politicians do all they can to keep pro-life laws from passing, to keep pro-life politicians from being elected and to stop the appointment of any federal judges who are pro-life, especially going after Catholic judges who are true to their faith. The only way we can overcome these obstacles is to elect more pro-life politicians, push for pro-life laws to be passed and support the appointment of pro-life judges. Any time we become involved in politics we have to know that we can't always have everything exactly the way we want it, but that should not and must not stop us from doing what we can when we can to make any progress that will protect life and support the rights of the unborn.
