B. Hussein Obama has been busy considering that he hardly ever seems to be at the White House. He shows courage in the face of economic adversity by using Air Force One to fly Michelle to Chicago just to eat dinner. He demonstrates his confidence in the economy by encouraging people to buy stock while at the same time driving down stock values through his punitive taxes and threats against almost every vital industry in the country. He has also broken considerable new ground in the area of foreign relations with the help of his loyal Secretary of State Hillary Doormat Clinton. He downplays the threat of North Korea (which has threatened war with us just this week), assures the Communist Chinese that their oppression and persecution will not stand in the way of our friendship with them and he has announced that he wants to "dialogue" with Iran, Syria and even the Taliban while snubbing the Prime Minister of Great Britain.
The disrespect shown to Gordon Brown has already been widely reported and while I certainly have no love for Brown, Obama's behavior was disrespectful to the United Kingdom and the British people at large. What was the official excuse from the White House? Obama was "tired" they said. Gee whiz, I guess it's a good thing we elected the young, athletic guy instead of the old Vietnam War veteran. Considering that Obama is one of the youngest presidents in our history and has bragged about how much he works out I don't think being "tired" is much of an excuse. The truth is that B. Hussein and his wife Michelle have both spoken of their contempt for Great Britain, particularly her colonial history. Even though the British Empire is long gone the Obama's can't seem to get over it. Another White House spokesman also accused the British of being arrogant for even expecting any special treatment!
Newsflash people! They were not expecting "special" treatment but simply the usual dignified treatment given to foreign heads of government on their first visit. However, even they did, Obama should be aware of the fact that the US and the UK actually DO have a special relationship. Like it or not Great Britain is the USA's "mother country" and we share a history and a great deal of common culture. We have also been allies for a very long time, we have fought and bled together in World War I, World War II, Korea and the Persian Gulf. Even in the last (unpopular) war against Iraq the British contributed more combat troops than any other coalition partner after the United States. They are also still a key ally in Afghanistan and have been targeted in their own country just like us. Given all of that, I don't think a little common courtesy toward the Brits is too much to expect.
In all the events leading up to B. Hussein Obama taking office he lavished praise on President Abraham Lincoln -you know, the guy who was so unpopular that his election sparked a civil war in this country, the guy who attacked his own people and killed more Americans than any other time in history. Obama tried to portray himself as the modern day incarnation of "Honest Abe" Lincoln; who was, ironically, a Republican. Well, I actually think that Obama and Lincoln do have at least some things in common. They both seem to want to destroy America by making problems they inherited ten times worse, they both cannot tolerate any criticism of their policies and will use all of their power to silence any and all dissent and they both seem to share a talent for trying to make an enemy of the British. What is the world coming to? It certainly seems that anything is possible. Hell, Teddy Kennedy got a medal from the Queen of England so I'm looking for lambs to start sleeping with lions any day now.
