Subject: Railroad Coffee House gig.
Sorry that I missed you last night, Garth.
My story: After cleaning up to be ready to go, I had to take a short power nap, praying that I would wake up in time. The 4:03pm CCAT was a bit too early for me, which was missed anyway. So as I woke, there was just 15 minutes to get 2 blocks down to ECR and the San Jacinto Ave, CCAT stop on my bike. I made it there on time within a couple minutes, maybe three or so to spare. My bike was leaned against the bus stop post and resting on the curb edge into the gutter. Then the wait began...it was now 5:40pm, then 5:50, and finally 6:15. No bus. And I had to relieve myself by then. I had to return home. I checked my messages and Caller ID if perhaps you phoned since my message to you earlier in the afternoon after receiving your email. None, no phone message from you.
I called the sweet CCAT Dispatcher who told me that the 5:40 bus was late, but then already past and at Curbaril Ave. It was gone with the rest of those lovely fragrances and noises that autos and fuel burners give off. Mind you, the bus stop is closely between El Camino Real and Hwy 101 so the sound of music is very loud. Such a dis-concert.
Then I decided to bike to the PO, and seeing an empty Starbucks clear plastic drinking cup at the end of Fresno Ave, I thot, yes, I don't need it, but I want a double expresso. They had a great cold mocha frappuccino on promo at Albertsons StarBks. Onto the PO and finding some good news from afar so I was reading it when a neighbour came thru on his way home from work. Rick and I had a good visit. He's getting a new cruiser bike in SLO that has crank shaft pedal brakes and handle grip gears with cables hidden in the frame's tubing. He told me a bit about CD burning.
Oh, BTW, I downloaded your "Eyes" clip from your web site. Sounds great. But it was clipped at the end. I guess to prevent piracy. But now to find it again in Temporary folder somewhere. Need to move it over to My Music.
Back at home again, I dined and slept some more, answering email and checking your Yahoo standing at 6th out of 100 songwriters web sites. I edited the description of my page to say there's a_free_download...Garth sings_ to catch the surfers' attention to go look from the link on my page to your official web site to which I must needs add a note alongside the link to say "CD clip download", or some such thing. (09/22/01 - Garth's CD Review page was listed at 4th out of 101 today as we build this page since adding the Free MP3 download note yesterday)
Otherwise all is well, except for the back of my neck and head: (another all day neck/headache).
Remember to get your website listed on Google, Altavista and others, or have Rosaline do it. Self submission is free thru basic submission. They also have pay submission for higher & more search engines. Some online agencies charge a few bucks per month to keep your website listed at the top of Search Engines. The world wide wave is mounting....get your surf board (website) on and ride the barrel...
always with Love,
Joseph
Note: Garth phoned while I was working on this page to invite me to his gig tonight, Saturday, 09/22/01 at Two Dogs Coffee in Morro Bay.
