Morro Bay - Montana de Oro Tidepools and Beach

afternoon trip in photos - Yahoo Album

February 26, 2002

Morro Bay to Montana de Oro and back, with Black Hill Morro Bay Views It was 57/78 degrees F. this day at the Pacific Ocean here while visiting Morro Bay, the Montana de Oro State Park tidepools, Spooner's Cove, and the visitor's center, with a climb up Black Hill overlooking the panoramic view of the estuary, Morro Rock, the beaches and dunes, as well as the manmade breakwater entry to the fishing boat harbor and wharf. Also the Winter green coastal Santa Lucia Mountains were spectacular. The evening lights of Los Osos at the south end of the bay were like a mini San Francisco by the Bay.

Exactly one year later on February 26, 2003 we returned to Morro Bay this time to watch a tall ship enter the harbor. After the initial crowds passed through we toured it. Click Hawaiian Chieftain, next page for short story and photos.
