Official Bandai Information
The new D-Power is a hand-held game with connectivity to the web. Train and battle with your favorite Season 3 Digimon through 13 Digital Worlds. Add additional power by swiping your favorite Digi-Battle Card. Comes with a CD-ROM with a Digimon Directory of over 350 Digimon and a training game. You can also upload your Digimon from your D-Power to your PC and back again. Your Digimon are then ready to battle via the internet.
The D-Power Digivice is the latest addition to the Digivice line-up. To those of you who are mad at Bandai for "dumbing" down the quality of the American digivices, this is something you will like. It is much more advanced than the Japanese D-Power, the D-Ark. Some features you can expect from this Digivice are: -Internet compatability for internet battle (and gameplay if you are in "secret area 13") -A dictionary with 370 digimon (not for capture) -The ability to "card slash" Digimon cards to gain more power (you can slash anything, it doesn't read the card) -Collect "power-up chips" for your Digimon -Visit 13 online battle areas from your C-D rom Right now you're probably asking "where can I get one". Bandai of America has not comfirmed an exact release date, but it's out. As of now you can get it from: -ToysN'Joys -Tigertown Collectables -E-Bay (a little pricey at times) -Toys R Us and other major toy shops As you can see from the card scan (left), the appears to be no bar code for the D-Power to read. D-Power compatable cards are out already. As you can see from the card scan (left), there appears to be no bar code on the card that the D-Power could slash. This is becuase it can't read the card. You could slash any item with about the same thickness as the blue card the D-Power comes with, and it would still accept it. It just measures slash speed.

This game, in my opinion, is decent. I wouldn't run off and write out a $50 check to Toys n' Joys to get one unless you were a "I've gott'a having Digimon everything" fan. The syle of the D-Power is very cool and neat, except on the side, the word "swipe" wipes away after a few days. The D-Power, like the previous digivices, get's boring faster than a snale race. Shaking, beeping, and staining your hand to slash correctly are some of the annoying features of this game. Look at the bright side, you gain one heck of a throwing arm. Great graphics, battery life, and easy basic controll are some of the up sides.
